The two posts above must be on to something. I have killed more than 100 Fey Drakes now in the past 1 and a half hour, and i have managed to gather a total of 2 dusts and a lot of other sorts of crap

These have a very odd droprate.

28% seems accurate to me. I killed 12 drakes to get 4 dusts.

Needed 30 mobs total for the four dusts so its about 7.5% for me...

This was really odd because when I read all the comments of the low droprate a was a little scared of the Quest. Then when I did it it actually had 100% droprate for me! :S I only killed four Drakes.

This dropped off the one's at the bottom by the tunnel more for me.

Or maybe Blizzard just hates me more than you.

I hate the quest to find these more than Barrens chat...

the droprate is like trying to search for people who love Ret paladins. (that are not one already)

This is probably incredibly coincidental, but I managed to get all 4 in just 6 drakes. The first two I fought and killed quickly, but the last 4 used mana burn me, and all four of them had a dust on them.

This quest isn't bugged, it's just a low droprate. I killed roughly 15 before I got my first one. Just the way it is. If you got lucky and got them quickly after retaking the quest, more power to you but don't waste other people's time with this suggestion -- if they already had some, they lose them upon dropping the quest.

No way can the drop rate be 20%, it's taken me around 30 kills for 2 so far. My guess would be the drop rate is more like 10%.

You gotta let it use magic before it can have dust on it's wings :)

It might have something to do with killing them while they are casting/precisely after they have cast a spell. I had all my four drops during such times (one before it had cast it).

Kill them after they cast "mana burn" then it'll drop.

omfg, it wel NEVER drop, they only use blink on me! they dont use a damn spell at me, so they wil never drop! (horde rogue)

This does not work no matter how you kill them the drop rate stays the same at about 3.7%. just farm till you get em.

if your a druid, cat form of corse, at 4 poitns use maim at 20-30% and wait, then kill, they always droped, 4/4 first kills.
