Easy to get to with stealth or invisibility; there're no guards in the immediate vicinity of the strongbox.

The rod is located in a veiled patio roughly around 47,71

Easiest way to reach this other than using a flying mount is to go around the outside to the back, worst mob to fight this way is the Eclipsian Hawkstriders and maybe an occaisional Blood Elf. Do a little hop next to the wall the abuts the mountain at the back and you can sneak all the way to within 30 yards of the box. Kill a couple mobs there so your not walked over on, then grab the rod and go back the way you came. Solo'd this quest in less than five minutes this way

Hint:
Combine getting the rod with the Quest "what illidan wants, illidan gets". You get a disguise... so u don't need killing anything. Getting the rod will destroy the disguise though, but u can mount and get another one easy enough.

Anyone know exactly where this item is? I cant locate it and I dont use cosmos, so i dont know using coords.

Co-ord are 47,71 under tent to right - top teir

You need a key first... once you clear the stairs at the highest part of Eclipse Point, the key drops from a mob standing infront of the first tent to your right. Then you need the rod, which is diagonally opposite the square (left of the elites)
