The relic can be found in a 'Massive Treasure Chest' (looks identical to Cache of the Firelord, or the Four Horsemen Chest), at coordinators (43, 76). For those with coordinates, thats southeast of Auchidoun, in a cabin with burned wooden wagons and debris with zombies in it.

When you open the chest, it begins a mini-encounter where waves of extremely low hp, non-exp yielding zombies appear and attack.

If you have AoE of any kind (including Holy Nova), it should one-shot the zombies that spawn.

I sat there for hours camping the guys looking for either the relic for the key, when it was in the chest the whole time. I didn't open the chest at first because it says it requires a special key... It doesn't.. Just open the chest anyways... Stupid Blizzard

Those ghosts just dont know when to die...

Was fighting a zombie type mob and 4 Ghost show up and exterminate me.
I know... rotten luck

Died again after getting relic...
Once you open chest and get relic a large group of undead spawn and close in...
Damn daze spam...

Whose stupid? If you'd like I will post the entire quest log. No mention of a chest or using a key. So you had no call labeling that guy stupid. What, are you a stupid Blizzard Developer? Shall I tell you what I think of running three miles a s a ghost to get back to my body? Who was the moron at Blizzard that felt it necessary to punish us so much to traverse ridiculous distances from graveyards? I can't tell you the number of times I thought of throwing this game away for that little piece of brilliance.

The key is automatically put on your keyring when you get the quest.
Lvl 65-66 mobs in the area, invisible ghosts will attack you as soon as you engage into combat, so be ready to fight 2-3 mobs at a time. Be sure to mount as fast as possible when you get the relic, since zounds of level 60 mobs will spawn in a few seconds.

Alternatively bring a mage or paladin along. Holy Wrath, Consecration & Retribution Aura will take out the zombies no problem :) .

No need to fear the mass of lvl 60 undead zombies that will spawn as soon as you get the relic! They are 1 shot-kill mobs! Me, as a hunter, got the relic, ran a litle and shot all them down before they could get to me. Looked like a shooting gallery... I suppose it would be much easier for a mage.

I just pulled this off as a level 64 druid. the chest is surrounded by undead and such, but its also out in the open. all i had to do to pull this off was ride in on my mount, dissmount and auto loot the chest, then just pick a direction and run. didn't die, didn't lose durability, got the relic.

this is a joke for warriors, just whirlwind the crap out them, they only hit me for 5 in berserkers stance anyway.

i could only see this being hard for shadowpriests

i agree with the guy who said it was hard for warriors i just did it i died twice because i kept getting adds and the guys that come after can be killed in one hit

Omg so easy for a druid with flight form, open chest, grab loot fly away! That's it.

im a fury warrior, this is fun, hit sweeping strikes, smackem with whirlwind and between whirlwind CDs spam (this is the only time you get to do this) , yes spam victory rush

I put off doing this quest for a while, so on a bored day I did it finally. When I pulled the relic from the box I saw the line of undead appear. An unfortunate alliance was beating on some nearby undead and happened to be smack in the middle of the line when it appeared. I just stayed very still for a while as I was laughing at his misfortune, eventually the undead vanished.
