All BT epic gem drops also drop inside CoT:Battle for Mount Hyjal now. Also, after a sector of the instance is cleared special mining nodes spawn along the way to the next area which often contain these epic gems.

This is the best blue socket gem for a raiding priest. This gem will increase your spirit by 11.55 with BoK and SoR, and your healing by 4. Compared to Royal Shadowsong Amethyst, which everyone seems to think is the best because the rare version is over-budgeted, this has -7 healing, -2 mp5 and +11.55 spirit.

11.55 spirit = 7.22/2.17 mana per five out/in the 5 second rule. Assuming you spend 65% of your time in the 5sr (which would be a pretty intense boss fight with no long phase transitions), this averages to 0.35*7.22+0.65*2.17 = 3.9 mana per 5 on average (much more if you get an innervate), 1.9 more than the Royal Shadowsong.

So, if you think 7 healing > at least 1.9 mp5, then you think this gem is worse than the Royal Shadowsong. So then you must think the Teardrop Living Ruby is better than the Royal Shadowsong, and you'd be best off using +22 heal gems in every single socket regardless of socket bonuses, so the point is moot. If you do think mana regen is actually valuable, then you're smart, and that means this gem is superior to the Royal Shadowsong.

Nowadays druid who's stacking spirit cannot go out of mana. I have 620spirit unbuffed, and with full raid buffs I have around 800spirit. Mana regen while casting is 400mp5 without a flask. Even if u run out of mana, just throw innervate on yourself, and you are back in full mana within next 5 seconds. Spirit also benefits mt's healing, so +10spirit is equal to +22healing gem, because if you have 8 healers in your raid, everyone of them gets +2.875healing to main tank, and thats +23healing.
