Seems to have a very low drop chance about ~1% as I have killed about 600 mobs in the mines and got 5 or 6 so far.

The best place to farm these for me are in the mines. I clear back and forth from the flayers to the crazed murkblood guys. In the last hour I've found 7 eggs, 4 of those looted off the ground.

In my experience the best drop rate for these was off the rays. In the first two days I found one egg on the ground and 11 off the Rays. Since then farming mostly the mines I find more on the ground, and almost none off mobs. Either luck, or the Ray drop rate is considerably better due to lower spawn rates.

If mines are packed, give it a shot, the Motes of Mana are worth getting too.

Try looking for them on the Island as well as on the small floating Rocks around it. Those eggs also spawn in the Netherwing Fields and Dragonmaw Fortress - just seek them everywhere you have the disguise-buff. :)

These seem to spawn at certain locations, though I am not sure how long the respawn time is. I've seen one respawn behind the two elite drakes near the 'dock' where Netherwing Transporters land and fly off from, and it respawned in the same exact place. However, getting it required one person distracting the drakes because it was too close to them to open up without aggroing.

I've also seen them drop off the Nethermine Flayers more than once, though it's rather rare most of the time. I have also seen some spawn at different places in the cave, but finding them is tough since the mines are so camped most of the time.

Some other things to note:

1. Like Sasquatchiii said in another thread, if you're grouped you roll need/greed on the eggs if you come across one on a mob or 'open' a spawned egg up.

2. They DO stack, 20 per stack.

3. You only get the gold reward once on the FIRST turn in, and any eggs turned in after that just net you 250 rep.

4. You can turn in as many as you like in one day as the quest to turn them in IS NOT considered a daily quest.

5. A spawned egg is considered to be like a treasure chest in that you CANNOT open it up if you're in combat. You have to be OUT of combat to open it up and get the egg.

Like was said above, finding them in the open is a matter of right time/right place. If you find a spot in the open, it can respawn at the same spot. No idea on a timer on these things.

I managed to get about 7 or 8 my first day rep grinding...after that I been getting just a few a day. Most for me have been in the mine either spawned egg or mined. A few have come from mob drops. I got extremely luck once and got 2 eggs in a single ore vein.

I just spent the day farming for these ... got about 17 total in one day. Took a while but here's how I did it.

1) Start out in the mines. Get into the area with the ravagers and flayers and start killing mobs, hoping for a drop. Go all the way south to the miners and kill them too. Look for eggs along the way.

2) Drop down into the lower part of the mines, where the oozes and worms are. Kill some of them for possible eggs while looking along the walls for static spawns.

3) Run up onto the mining car rails and run out of the mines, keeping an eye out for eggs. Once out, hop on your mount and start scouring the islands along the fringes of the main island (Netherwing Ledge). I found many of my eggs out along these islands. Work your way counterclockwise around the island until you reach the NE corner of the island.

4) Fly north to the Dragonmaw Fortress and hunt for eggs here. They can be inside of the buildings as well as up along the walls, tucked behind the standing Dragonmaw Drakeriders. They can also be down on the ground but not nearly as often. I found a LOT of eggs here, as not many players bother flying out there to find the eggs.

5) Fly back to Netherwing Ledge and scour the islands with large crystal formations on them, to the north of the main island. Work counterclockwise, covering each island.

6) Once you reach the mines again, fly north along the runway looking for eggs, then re-enter the mines and pick up from Step 1.

Granted, it took me a number of hours to get all 17 eggs in one day but it meant I could get exalted tomorrow, instead of on Tuesday. I hope this works as well for you as it did for me.

It is possible to "farm" the eggs. They just have a very low droprate on all mobs on Netherwing Ledge, and spawn in the egg containers.

If you want to "farm" them, there are several ways.

First, the Overmine Flayers. They are close together, are usually left alone by players (unlike the Nethermine variant), and can be chained in quick succession without player intervention. This gives them the highest time:drop ratio of the netherwing ledge mobs.

Second, Nethering Rays. They are far apart from each other, but chances are you'll come across egg containers more frequently. They are the slowest way to farm eggs, but not by much, *and* they drop motes of mana aswell, which evens it out for some wishing to combine activities.

Third, Nethermine mobs. You can get into the flayer tunnels by jumping up into them, you don't need to go all the way down the railtracks to get there. Clean the tunnels going 'downhill', past the murkblood mobs, and jump down to Toranaku. From there, you can run up towards the railtracks and repeat the route - It visually covers the entire cave, and as the egg containers are most frequently found inside the mine, this way is the fastest to "farm" the eggs, but only if there are no or little other players around doing the same.

In any case, farming them is an arduous task at best. 2 eggs per hour only happens when you've very lucky in the mines with almost no other players around, 1 egg per 60-90 minutes is what you can usually count on. Still, farming eggs is by no means an effective way to grind rep, there are more profitable and useful things you can do since the mobs drop little else than coins and gray vendor trash when not on Netherwing quests.

You should only farm them if you're, say, 500-1250 rep away from the next rep level, if you're impatient it shouldn't take too much trouble farming the eggs for that 'rep-up'. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on it regardless.

You should find enough eggs throughout your daily grind to get you through to exalted in not too much time. Don't try to farm them unless you're really close to gaining a reputation level - Especially since other people need to kill those mobs for their dailies! It is very rude just to farm the mines when you've already finished them and when there are others who still need to finish their dailies.

Also, just fly around the Ledge once in a while, eggs can be found on strange places :)

I went from neutral to exalted in a week from farming eggs. I believe I've had better luck than Reii, so it could go either way, but if you really want rep, I wouldn't say it's a bad route to take.

My tactic:

Log on, check Dragonmaw Fortress for eggs (check behind perched drakes, in the whelpling corral, the open hut, stables, etc.). Head onto the ledge after checking the little surrounding islands and complete all daily quests (checking the fortress again after doing off-site quests, such as the Nagrand one). After that, I went back into the mine and killed Nethermine Bursters and Black Blood of Draenor mobs (neither of which are needed for any quests besides crystals, which you can get killing anything, so you don't have to worry about being rude as mentioned in a previous comment). When my bags filled up, I would exit the mine to repair and sell all my junk to Gug. I'd usually make about 30 gold an hour in trash, as well as half a dozen greens (give or take). In my week of farming, I also found three rare jewelcrafting recipes.

The bloods are particularly nice. You basically get two chances at an egg since the "sludge-covered objects" can also have an egg in them. Rare, yes, but it made me feel slightly more productive with my time! I got the majority of my eggs from these mobs.

If you're killing bloods and bursters, keep an eye out for eggs on that floor. I have seen eggs in most of the little corners (where the bursters path), near sets of crates, atop the end of the tracks, and to the left of the big dragon in his holding room.

Another alternative, if you're bored and feeling social, is to farm them with a friend. I am a frost mage and my husband is an affliction warlock and we pretty much went crazy slaughtering everything on that lower floor and in under 20 minutes, I got four eggs. The faster you kill, the better your chances.

Good times to farm (though this may vary by server) are during the workday, of course, but if you're free, check weekday evenings when a lot of people who are farming this rep are busy raiding.

Lastly, the benefit to farming these eggs instead of searching for them is to not have your heart broken when someone of the opposite faction inevitably gets to an egg before you do. And laughs.

i was really lucky yesterday i found 19 eggs in various places on the ledge ontop of the mountains very obvious and in cargo trolleys, so look every where for them. i have gone from neutral to revered in 3 days so the eggs help..plus there is a quest that is rare that drop off the black oozeling guys which gives u 850 rep worth grinding for.

its worth keep ing a couple of eggs in your bank becasue when u get to that last few hundread rep you can just turn them in..

Has any herbalist and miner tried collecting these from both netherdust bushes and nethercite deposits? I'm both, and I've only ever got eggs from the nethercite veins. At the moment I just chalk it up to strange luck, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of restriction on using more than one gathering profession.

yes the eggs do come out of herbs to, rate is low i have found about 3 or 4 out of bushes but have looted at least 150, you will find it better to look for eggs, since yesterday i was revered and started yesterday morning, found 31 eggs by that night thru loot and finding eggs in all different places, started again this morning at 9.30 now 2.30 just done daily's and found 17 more eggs... total of 48 eggs now exalted...taken 5 days....Warlocks a great way to search for them with out killing mobs use your eye of kilrogg saves heaps of time.

look every guys i will try to do a small map where they spawn but you have to check the area regular as spawn time are eractic, plus i have found that an egg may spawn in a spot for a few day and not again for a few day. But keep checking, plus if you wait awhile you will find you should be offred completed daily qsts again, so u can get the higher rep ones and leave the lower rep one i found this out yesterday, also if u have a restart and done all dailies check it when you log back in some times it resets some of the quests but you dont loose the rep or gold so u can do them agian. if you work at it you can do it i got neutral to exalted less than 5 days

The good thing is if you're one of the newer people working on netherwing faction you'll have less competition for the eggs as for anybody exalted has no use for them since they don't bring any gold with turnins.

The bad news is you still don't have a dragon yet.

Something really bizzare just happened to me as I was doing Netherwing Quests. I hadn't been able to find an Egg for a couple days now, and was getting frustrated about it. I was doing the 40 crystals quest in the mine when, lo and behold, I find an egg on the ground! I grab it, considering myself lucky.

But then...the next two guys I killed (Nethermine Flayers) BOTH dropped eggs! I got three in literally 2 minutes!

When people are farming in the mines, always check beside the Murkblood Overseer's. I have found 5 eggs there inside 30minutes, very nice for rep!

Originally I thought this was total BS. However,after watching the video, I was able to get 14 and then 22 eggs on my last 2 days. After wracking out 15k rep in 2 days, if your willing to farm your butt off it can be done in 4 or 5 days.

i did this at the wrong moment i am 2k from exalted now... i found an awesome way as a hunter to farm netherwing eggs. As a hunter stand on the tracks in the mine where you can either go down to the bloods or up to the flayers stand there and use eyes of the beast and run your pet through the flayer room then when its done feign death call pet then go to the murkblood miner area and check there, then go to the start of the mines. if you see one use traps feign deaths concussive shots and wing clips to get to where they were and well loot it. This is most effective when noone is around obviously but it works very well because your pet runs faster than the flayers. And this way you dont have to worry about dieing trying to run around for eggs just your pet dies is worst case scenario but with the new mend pet its easy to res and repeat.

Any idea how much to sell one for? After an hour and half of criss crossing Netherwing Ledge looking for nodes, after being feared off a node into a bunch of mobs twice (while the alli warlock helped himself to the node), I'm at 30/40 ore. This my first and last attempt at netherwing rep, I shudder at thought repeating this 10 times a day till exalted.

I was more interested by the trinket than the mount (Being a druid I can get epic flight form), but anyway I found an egg and want to AH it. I know price varies server to server, but can anyone give me a general idea?

Got my drake in 5 days u can even get it in 4 if u grind hard. i mean really hard. Getting ur drake depends on how much u grind. Do dailies and also watch the videos on youtube that shows all spawn points of those eggs that will help a lot believe me. You will have to spend hours in that cave ofc help of a friend will make it easier.

After the initial egg turn in, which I recall being 75 rep, the next one was 250 for me. I also got mine in the mine on the ground. They are sometimes there on rare occasion in the beginning before any mobs, free 250 rep when it's there :D

After 9 days and finaly hitting exalted, these are the following places I found eggs myself. Several in mining (along with a few blue gems :D ), only had 2 drop for myself the whole time =\ I found a lot of ground spawns though, 2 on the dock (where those 2 elietes gaurd), one just south east of the dock in a groove, a few in the mines, one in the end room of the flayers (where you can jump off to get back to the exits), 2 on the bridges in the middle, one in the lower pit. I also found a lot of them in the dragonmaw fort, cupple inside the buildines themselfs. A few were outside the buildings on the ground, and I even found some by the flying orcs who were just roosting.

I got 4 eggs today, the first was in the mine on the ledge behind the wheel in the room where the big netherdrake is, the second i found outside on a hill while flying around looking for mines. The big stream of particle effects coming off the top made it easy to spot. The next 2 i found while mining nethercite, first swing on 2 mines in a row! Havent got any dropped, doesnt look like they have a very good drop rate. My wife is gonna try to see if they can be found in the Netherdust bushes too.

The first turn in is worth 350 rep, it counts towards one of the daily quests, and you get like 18g reward. When you turn in more eggs they are 250 rep, they do not count towards the daily quests, and you dont get a reward except the rep.

Update: yes they can also be found while picking Netherdust bushes on the island

I have found just over 20 eggs so far. There doesn't seem to be a pattern. I have found them in bushes, spawns on the ledge (mainly on the peaks), the surrounding islands, ground spawns in the mine, and killing various monsters on the ledge. Also, I have found them at the dragonmaw camp on the mainland of shadowmoon valley.

Anyone have any idea of a respawn on eggs? Iv been farming them every day after my quests are done and usualy pull in about 5+ a night. Iv began to see a pattern where eggs seem to spawn in 3s then none spawn for a while. Tonight i got 3 eggs in about 5 mins in the mine (using pet to explore). When i decided none were left i flew my egg path outside and saw none at any of the dragonmaw spawns or on any peaks/islands.

Anyone else think that there could be a possible max spawn per hour or something of eggs?

For all of you "5 day" lightning rep-gainers, I call BULL.

There's no way. To get from Neutral to Exalted, it's a grand total of 42,000 rep.

How many eggs do you figure that took, at 250 each (after the initial 350, of course.)

Assuming Friendly & halfway to Honored was made in the first day, Revered by the third, and Exalted by the fifth, you couldn't earn more than 7600-8500 rep (roughly) from the dailies, total. That leaves the one-shot quests (which add up to a rough total of 7700 rep, if you can do all of them), for a total of, high side, say 16,200 rep.

At that point, you would have to find enough eggs to make up 25,800 rep. Or to put it in perspective, about 103 eggs, total.

Sorry, I really have to call bull on that.

Eggs are a Pain in the arse, if you are looking for them directly you are going to waste a lot of time...
OF COURSE look for them, but look for them as you are killing. Look for them right before you race a Wingcommander *hint, hint*. But continue grinding the kills, I hit exalted sunday morning at 4 am'ish, by not dropping everything to look for egg spawns. I killed stuff, I MINED ooo Mining is good for eggs, and I kept an eye out on known egg spawns. On Bloodhoof this is CRAZY right now, big server lots of people.. and we lost a day on the rep grinding due to the patch taking out server off line till about 10pm EST. It can be done, check EVERYWHERE, anyplace that you are in fel orc mode, is a likely spot for an egg to be, a mine to be, or a bush to be. Always gather!

farm late @ night in the mines. when u start seeing less morons around u know it is ur turn. keep killing the slimes and the other foes for anything they can give and eggs will start poping as well simple as that. eggs pop in many places even the aerial railway tracks... u just have to be the first one around them. u can carry many eggs and the quest is not daily. can be repeated as many times as u need.

Here are the coordinates for a number of eggs that I've found. Hope it helps you grind your netherwing rep a bit faster. Keep in mind that while these are specific coordinates, a lot of the time you're just going to stumble across eggs while you do other things. Farming them can be tough, just keep your eyes open all the time for them. Also, it never hurts to do some farming at 3-4AM ;)

What I did that made it easier on me was I googled a map of netherwing ledge and printed it out. Then I colored little black dots where the possible spawn points are for the eggs along with there loc. It makes it easier on the eyes if you're more of a visual learner. :P

Because I am now 'a few eggs from exalted' and 'Me Not That Kind of Orc' I will share my Netherwing Egg revelation with you...
I believe, THERE ARE ONLY FEW EGGS (1..4) and they keep spawning all the time in different locations. It is a kind of 'HIDE AND SEEK' GAME - you find one egg and then the egg is spawned at another place. You find it again and again it spawns in different place.
Depending how many people are grinding eggs, there are two different strategies:
In the small hours, when there are few people, you would better keep checking all spawn places because the chance that you will find the next spawn is reasonable.
In the crowded hours, I suggest, you patrol one of the areas (the surface of Netherwing Ledge, the mine and Dragonmaw Fortress) because there is a great chance that someone will find the next egg-spawn before you in the other two areas.
In my opinion, when all people realise that the EGG IS THE KEY TO GAIN NETHERWING REPUTATION QUICKLY and all start actively seeking eggs (everyone in his area) then there will be less time the eggs stay 'hidden', there will be 'more' eggs for everyone and everyone will get his/her Nether Drake much quicker.

I finally had a nice day or two of farming eggs successfully. Found my first in the Dragonmaw area right inside of the wagon, a second inside the tower where Zulumed approaches. I've farmed approx 25 now inside the mines in about a full two days of playing. tough part is this, while i'm down in the mines fighting, you either have people wait so that they can walk up and ninja your eggs, or, all the dam rogues that i've seen who stealth into the immediate area of the egg, and if they know they can't take the mob out by themselves, they'll let someone approach, clear half the mob, they'll take out the last one or two and then jump on the egg.

As for me, i'm a hunter, and came up with a dam good idea of scouting out the mines without having too much of a hassle. i usually stand on the small bridge right in front of the main area filled with flayers and ravagers. Not only does an egg spawn right there, but then i use my ability to see through the eyes of my cat, put him in stealth, and have him run down one direction scoping out the area for eggs. if they detect him, no biggy, just use his dash ability and he's off like a bolt. by the time you're done, he'll be too far away to come back on his own, so you'll have to call him once again, but be careful. i did this once or twice and the second i summoned my cat, i had about 40 pissed off ravagers and flayers head my way. now what i do is i either stealth myself or feign death the second the ability wears off, i wait about 10 seconds, and call my cat and do the same thing but send him down the opposite side of the mine.

Good part is, the area i stand in continues to spawn eggs, approx 1 an hour, and from using my cat to prowl around i found about 10 more over the course of the first day. once i see one, i start fighting my way through and keep my humanoid tracking on to make sure there's no one in the area, so, i can either take a little extra time and be careful or i'll know if i have to haul a$$. the mines seem to be far more consistent as far as the spawns IMO. the dragonmaw camp is too easy for anyone and everyone to fly through, check it once, grab anything around. the mines actually require work, so most people will back off. for me, i've gotten to revered exremely fast now because of the eggs, doing all the dailies, and of course, the dragon races which were a lot of fun.
Not only will you be able to do the crystal and hide collections, you'll eventually get the quest to pick up the crates, another that requires you to kill approx 15 flayers and ravagers, so they all go hand in hand, plus, awesome money from selling all that knothide.

I'm working on my 3th Netherwing at the moment (Hardest imo)

1. Hunter (Beast Master)
Easy as pie, the combination of quick attacks (More loot so more Eggs) and mining (Multiples Eggs from veins) made this real easy to rep. for.

2. Druid (Was Balance.. But respecced Feral)
Not as easy as the Hunter but with skinning I got an additional quest for rep. (No eggs from skinning though, those are nodes only) And stealthing to eggs is also nice (As long as you don't go in combat as you can't loot in combat)

3. Paladin (Retri)
It's hell, enough said, I have herbalism so I can still get eggs that way (In my case 1 in every 500 Pollen X) and an additional quest. In a cave you can even walk to an egg because killing takes so long the egg will be looted far before you are done :))

Egg hunting, there are lots outside.. But.. As some of us have seen.. Blizz likes to tease us ;) One of the eggs is on/just below the NorthEast landing platform guarded by 2 Elites. Don't try alone.. And beware.. A roaming Elite passes by ;)

These still drop off the NPCs in the area while you're in a raid. They are also an occasional loot off the slimy object from those blobs in the cave. The cave is the best place to loot them at. I just did the rest of revered there one day after I did my dailies while waiting in raids for rated battlegrounds.

It would be smart to horde the eggs in your inventory and then turn all of them in at once with the Darkmoon Faire +10% rep bonus buff.

And wtf is with the slow poke flight back to Shattrath after you're done? No dialogue or anything.

Respawn time for these eggs is 1 hour!
They're part of a spawn pool, which ensures the locations are randomized (within a fixed set of locations, which you can find with addons like "Gatherer").

For whatever reason, these also drop from Netherspite, in Karazhan. It's a long walk to get there though...

The best time to hunt for eggs is at night during the week, as there will be a lot less players about. I didn't farm mobs spesifically for the eggs, but I had a few drop as I worked through the mines.

There seems to be about 3 hour re-spawn on these. Found 6 eggs in the mines around 3am, 6 more at 6am and then a couple at around 9am, but I didn't get all as other players had arrived. With a couple of loot drops and some egges found outside, I ended up with 18 eggs in one night (4500rep). I wouldn't say it's worth it to farm them, but if you have the time to check around at night, then it's a bit of extra rep.

Never found any around the fortress, but I was probably not checking the right spots/unlucky with respawn time
