It's a nice headpiece, to bad it has no meta socket, if you get glowing nightseye and the 9 dmg ruby you get:

and 4 mercurial adamantite.

It's bop, so only people that find the plans for it will be able to fear it.

This looks like a very nice stam/spirit item for a restoration druid. The healing isn't as high as some other peices, but the stam/spirit makes it on par with many other pre-raid items.

Good head for Affliction warlocks etc. Put a Runed Blood garnet, and 2x Glowing Shadow Draenite in it aswell , and you got a good grinding item for affli warlocks.With a total of 43 spell dmg, 50 stam, 20 int and 20 spi.

I use this as my helm for tanking Krosh Firehand, with three cheap +9 stamina gems in it. Much cheaper than Battlecast Hood, comparable intellect and more stamina due to the extra socket. Haven't been able to find anything similar which also has a little +spell power on it.

Even as a starter PvP helm, I'd recommend the Crown of the Sea Witch; you might want to use good stamina gems and a +9 spell damage one to get the +5 socket bonus instead, then.

I crafted one of these for our guild's Krosh tank. It seems the best way to pack raw Stamina into a mage's head.

Comparing with the Battlecast Hood, this offers more Stamina even if you ignore the socket bonus on that item and maintain it on this one. With two +12 Stamina gems and one +5 SDamage / +6 Stamina, you top the best possible (non-epic-gemmed) Battlecast Stamina by 5 points (assuming you go with both +12 Sta therein), at the cost of 10 SDamage and 8 Intellect. You also get 20 Spirit, but that's probably not as interesting.

On the 2.2 PTR this item has been given +127 armor. No change to other stats or sockets.

Although I don't have a screenshot, the graphic for this crown is almost non-existent. One of those headband-type hats that barely shows up.

Not sure if it's more lame for them to just re-use graphics or not use one at all. You decide.

This is a nice PvP-entry helm, especially if you don't have enough spirit shards (or time, cause that's it that matters) to get exorcist helmet.

Try marketing them as Mage Tank helms for Gruul's Lair. Properly gemmed, these are absolutely the best choice for the job, IMO.

I've made two of these... practically have to give them away - you're lucky if you break even on the price of mats! The allakhazam average is waaaaay over what I'm getting for these on Malygos.

OK this is confusing. I linked this to my guild and they all saw it as BOE but in my JC book it comes up as BOP. I opened a ticket to a GM who said he researched the item and it was deffinately BOP. So I linked him the item and he said he saw it as BOP in the tell. He also mentioned that he would look into it - ie. probably do nothing and not let me know either way.

Cost price is about 170g to buy the mats on my server so I aint going to make one just to find out anytime soon.

This item is awesome for the mage tank at Gruul's lair in the Maulgar encounter. Lots of base stamina +2x blue sockets for 12stam gems, just what i needed :)

Im seriously getting this for my pvp set on my mage. With gems the stats are :

69 sta !
20 int
20 spi
33 +dam

That is an awful load of stam for an item so easy to get. For example it has more stam then battlecast hood, while that item is rougly 1000g more expensive to make.

I put 2x +9 stam gems and a +4 sp dam/+4 stam gem

64 stam
20 int
20 spirit
32 sp dam

It's easy to make <200g

12x khorium bar ~ 60g
20x jaggal pearl ~ 20g
3x shadow pearl ~ 60g
4x Mercurial Adamantite ~ 25g

total ~ 165g

As of 2.2.2 this item has 127 armor.. it did not before.. noticed this on my mage today.

Made one today and put to ah. It is bit hard to put price to this item, as some materials are hard to farm and their ah-prices varies a lot. Shadow pearls are about 40g each on my server and khorium was 50 g for 5...
if I just look at the item, it is awesome, so it is "worth" to buy and have if have extra cast to spend. There is not so many good ah-able cloth headpieces anyway on that lvl.

i made this one and listed and relisted and relisted in AH. didnt sell. i wasnt even asking as much as thott suggested. instead of taking a huge loss from some random person, i gave it to a guild friend. he was happy. im not going out of my way to make any more of these.

Yeah. No one asks for this item to be made - sort of strange. I mean, maybe because there's no crit or hit change, but it seriously awesome for priest. With the spirit and putting mana per 5 gems in it's almost as good as an epic.
