i noticed that this nifty thing removes the level requirement from super healing potion.
so only requirement is 305 engineering
I see no reason why a gnome should not be able to use these at 30+
(300 engineering + 15 engineering from racial)
Just have another person making them for you.

I'll have to check this when I've used up the last of my old injectors, but based on the tooltip and the lack of "charges" given, it almost seems like you could stack partially-used injectors back together.

As in, say you have an injector with 8 uses left, and another one with 12 uses left. It almost looks like you could combine them into one injector with 20 uses.

Again, I'll have to test this later.

Evidently someone's rating down my comments. Regardless, these have been changed from their original form by being restackable and separateable. You can take a few out and give them to other engineers as need be.

This item can make up for some awesome gnomish twinkage on the level 30-39 bracket.

While most people get:
Superior Healing Potion
Requires Level 35
Use: Restores 700 to 900 health.

Or:
Greater Healing Potion
Requires Level 21
Use: Restores 455 to 585 health.

We gnomes can get:
Healing Potion Injector
Requires Engineering (305)
Use: Restores 1500 to 2500 health.

Which restores more than the double of the former, GNOME POWA!

I see no use at all for this item. Other than the ability to stack 20 potions instead of 5 Super Healing Potions, what purpose does it serve? It requires 20 Super Healing Potions to craft in addition to several other mats and seems that there is no return on the investment or any extra benefit to making. Please post if there is something I am missing.

Seems to me that the mats to make this are a bit extreme for what you gain in bag space. Sure you can now carry 4 times as many but who carries 80 health pots. It actually only frees up 2 bag slots. You have to carry at least 2 injectors because when one has only a couple charges left you need a spare. I normally carry 4, five stacks of heal pots. So thats 2 freed up slots. You also need at least 2 high level toons to make them (Herbalism, Alchemy, Engineering) if you aren't going to buy your mats on the AH. The price of the mats on the AH alone will cost more than you can sell the injectors for. The extra mats cost, along with the fact that most people don't know to look for it on the AH make it a hard sell. Seems to me that an injection would be much more efficient than a potion. Why not make it only cost 15 heal pots along with the other mats to make it. Lower the mat reqs Blizz! and while your at it, how bout a cool animation.

i dont see why ppl keep on complaining about the mats for these the mats are seriously easy to get it only cost me about 3g to make for the leather so not sure why ppl keep on compling and if u are about the pots wouldnt u have bought the pots in the first place? so explain that to me if i am missing something.

I wonder how does this thing work.. Sounds nice.
If it would be anything like a priests lightwell, it might be one of the best things engineers ever made.. I doubt a bit that possibility.
Is it just a reuseable potion for the one who has made it?

Blizzard needs to make this item available to everyone so that ENG have something to make money off of... Everyone and thier mother would love to have something like this... This item would be desired, but would not ruin the player economy... If they made the mats a little harder to get and made it available to everyone I would be happy.

Engineers have nothing that is a SOLID money maker... This could have been our money maker.

ok apart from saving 3 slots whilist its full, cos once you used 10 charges it will only save 1 slot, but the addition to the price of pots we're gonna make these with expensieve mats just to save a few bag slots i think not there must be a beetter benefit to these than we're seeing

This item is rather bad as I see it.

I've never ever had more than 5 of each (health & mana) pot on me when I went questing/raiding. Ever.
And I've never run out.
So for me this item apperently does nothing.

I'm still an Engineer, but I'm strongly considdering dropping it, since there are so few items in the (TBC) new engineering that are worth it. Agreed, the ability to extract gas --> motes of ? is nifty, but you don't make as much of it as you would have with any real gathering profeciency.

Even my old favorite, the transporter seems a bit lame now considering how there is free portals in SC and you can hearth back to SC.
If you add a level 1 AH alt, you dont really need any fast travel other than back to SC.
Or maybe not even that.
(To me the entire point about the old transporter was the ability to change continents without having to fly-boat-fly.)

I am carrying around 3 bags full of gear, Fire res, Nature res, DPS kit, and soon a full Arcane res kit, so even with all 18slots bags,I have my bags stuffed already. I agree it is alot of g, to make it. But well I made 100g of one instance run last night, so it is all not that big a deal anymore.
You just have to be an engineer-lover to get engineering, if you are only afer the money, you better take herbalism and mining or something :P

This thing stinks. Comeone guys. It's easy to have a posative attitude about bag space but this is really bogus. It should do something besides that for a 330 skill item. I'm still gonna make one. I'm still going to enjoy the game. I still want you all to have fun and keep up with the engineering. A lemon by any other name is still a lemon.

My problem with these injectors is once you get down to 3 charges or so it becomes a space waster rather than a space saver.

When your potions get low normally you just top up the stack so you're always carrying at least 5 pots. You cannot refill one of these, you have to make a new one, so once you get below 5 charges you start wondering why you don't just carry pots instead.

Is it useful? Kinda, maybe. Is it work the 200g average that the recipe sells for on AH? Even considering 200g isn't much anymore and I have plenty of gold, I personally would not pay a cent for this recipe.

The only point of this injector is a sort of novelty device, most people dont carry around twenty healing potions unless theyre going on a raid or instance so really you dont save any space. But its quite good to have one of these handy. However since the averge price is about 150g from the auction house and you have to make a new one every time its not rally worth it. I do keep one on me but i know lots of alchamists who can make me the potions. Otherwise its not worth it, just carry less potions and save some money.

It really is useless.
Lets say your on a raid and the guys looting say im out of bag space. Yeah me too says the rest. Anyone got room? No is the reply. Oh dam i really wish id brought that healing injector with me now then id have 3 extra slots left and short on gold.
Thats not going to happen ever. Only time you need space is on a raid. If everyone gets full on a raid you either take a 5 minute break or use the repair bot to vendor all that crap. If it had a good feature like refillable so once made you just put in more pots for more charges then yeah good deal, but it doesnt, also when it gets down to 5 or less charges its just a waste. Maybe if it did something like:

"Refillable 20 charge healing injector. Increases healing effects by 20% and has an idivdual cooldown."

If that were the case great item. It isnt so its @#$%.

damn, as a rogue+skinner my bags are always full of crap... i've thrown away my fair amount of #$%^ just to get some quest items etc.

anyway - a novel idea but pretty good for those in engineering - save some bag space. the prices for the plans however are a bit OOT.

and, i guess if you have a 39 twink you can use it to your advantage as well. lol

It seems that the only thing this is REALLY used for is:
1.) People who like to see their bags neat and tidy (I, for one, am one of these people.)
2.) Level 39 Gnome Twinks. And yes, it only works for Gnomes, because they are the only ones who can have 305 engineering at level 39, because of their +15 eng racial.
3.) People who embrace Engineering because that's who they are, and ignore who says what about it, because every little bit helps!

The fact of the matter is... it seems that the jobs who are complaining about this are the ones that don't really USE healing potions. Example: Warlock, with healthstone, soulstone and a constant tank would not have much need for healing potions, period. Somewhat of the same for Hunter, but he doesn't have the restorative stones of the Warlock. Druids can heal self, though it looks like one or two still like this item.

I am an engineer rogue. I took this profession to have fun and do crazy things, not make money. That is what mining is for. Soo, when I look at this item, I think "How will this help me?" rather than think "omg i cant sel it". (bad spelling on purpose, by the way)

I gave up alchemy for engineering, and often felt the pain for it. However, with this under my belt, I can make the most of things.

As far as I can tell, the only use for this currently is to save a little bag space. It appears that the engineering req was replaced by a lvl 55 req, defeating the purpose of twink use. BG potions are far less expensive, so this is useless for BGs, and I can't think of a time when I needed 20 superior healing potions in one trip away from town.. all in all, I certainly wouldn't bother with this. If you drink potions like soda then this may be worth it.

As a warrio-gineer I can definitely see the use in this. I seldom carry more than about 10 super heal potions, but if I had the ABILITY to carry even more for LESS space I'd jump on it like a fat man on a sandwich. The rarity of its drop is what saddens me because unless a guildy finds and gives it to me I'm doomed never to get it because I did not take this profession to make money (and virtually cannot) so paying 400+ gold (ave price for it on the AH on Garona the last 3 weeks) is never going to happen. I picked up the mana one for a little under 200g because of a haggle and some spare dime, but no one really seems to care about that one enough to make me want to acquire 20 pots to build them and I just refuse to grind for 2-3 days for the gold to spend 400+ on it.

YAY, got the schematic for just 81g off the AH this morning. Combine this with my Fel Iron Toolbox which I recently equipped not only to the bank but to my belt, I have GOBS of bag space now (since most motes are considered engineering supplies and also travel in the 24 slot toolbox) as well as 20 health hits all conveniently stashed in my ulta-condensed baggage system.

I bought the recipe, and managed to sell one 90g. So I bought the mats for a few more, and now I cant even give them away. I thought there would be more of a market for the raiding ppl of the world, but not so much. Whenever I advertise these in trade chat, all I get is people asking how it works. For it being 20 pots in one stack, you'd think there would be more interest.

I think its funny that the people doing the most complaining about this don't really use many healing pots anyway. It's like me (as a rogue) saying the mana pot injector sucks because I don't need to use mana. There are some classes that this can help. Its not an insane item by any means but it serves a purpose for some classes. Like a poster posted above it saves bag space for them. As a rogue I use a decent chunk of pots during raids because I never expect healers to heal me. If I am an aware and good rogue they rarely have to. There are enough boss fights that have random targeting, Static AOE's fights that I want to stay in and COS only last 6secs, Boss Ads, etc.

As a tank i thought of this for bag space esp when you carry multiple gear on you for certain pulls. This might have drove me to pick up engineering until I saw the post useable by anyone. when you can carry two of these and be set for many instances. This is op bag saver and for farming instances the more room you have the more you can farm to sell. and with the meta this rush to 70 is dungeon grinding for rep for attunements. 6 spots you save for having one mana and one health will pay for itself in bag space. it turns 4 stacks of 5 into one stack. so 3each saved. so even when you get low a 2nd one prepped still have 2 spots free. ya this is win win.

Now if it could have maybe a smaller cd or useable on others (engineers only) then I would even think of getting engineering on my healer. need health or mana i got you boo.
