Yet another card from "Fires of Outland", the new set of WoW trading cards due out on August 22nd.

This particular item is from the card "Gone Fishin'", and will spawn a chair to fish normally from.

To redeem the loot card's code you must visit Landro Longshot <The Black Flame> in Booty Bay.

As an ogre, you stand in the chair rather than sitting in it...

Has starfish and a worm on a hook under the umbrella.

And I you don't have to be near water to use it.

So if you're on Twisting Nether and you're Horde, I'm sure you'll see me up on the Orgrimmar bank chillin' in the chair...or near the Auction House set up with my Goblin Gumbeaux Kettle and Picnic Basket.

Other players aren't allowed to sit in or steal your chair. However, often players will come up and do /sit on top of the chair to appear as though they are sitting in the chair
BlizzCon Murloc Suit, Ogre Suit both have no sitting animation. It will appear as though you're standing/clipping through the seat.
You can use World Enlarger to shrink down and sit in the chair as a tiny person but it clips through the chair art.
You can use both your picnic basket & this fishing chair at the same time
Item can be placed all over the world "outside." It's great to set up on someone's corpse and sit on the chair making it look like you plan on camping their corpse.
It's a great attention item, most people have no idea what the item is and ask you where to get it.
A patch changed the item so that it lasts longer, now 5 minutes vs. 3 mins.
Certainly one of the best/most fun items in the game in my opinion

Just got it today. Fun to use in AV while guarding towers and gy's. A few player haters out there who like to whisper stuff like "ebay" or "trading card games are for losers". That's when you know they are jealous. So I just smile and keep on sitting. Well, I do get up to fire flares and set my traps. Don't want to forget the job at hand. :)

Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
The Fishing Chair comes from the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)

Distribution: Fires of Outland booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $140 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $1,412.00. The price for this loot has been increasing steadily since the Fires of Outland expansion is now out of print.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/fishing_chair.htm (most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $75 USD upwards to $95 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 4 items.

How do the Loot cards work?
Loot cards are special rare versions of WoW TCG cards found in booster packs, starter decks, and raid decks that have a revealable unique code. Once this protective layer concealing the code is scratched away, a 25 digit promotion code is revealed that can be entered into the Blizzard offical promotions page. These codes work for both US and EU servers.

I have the 25 digit loot code, now what?
All accounts from every region in the world use http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/promotion.html to redeem any and all special loot. This webpage allows you to enter the 25 digit promotion code and also select the region and realm for the character that will receive the loot item.

Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. There, you will need to find a goblin by the name of Landro Longshot. He is located on the lower parts of Booty Bay on the docks, and should be easily recognised due to the fact that he has a distinctive purple shirt and two body guards next to him.

When you find Landro, he will first ask if you are here for a promotion, and then ask you which TCG expansion your item comes from (or Points Redemption); check your loot card if you are not sure which item that is. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item!

Although most loot card items are basically harmless fun or eye candy I find the chair does serve some purpose in bg's. Sometimes I will drop it at choke points. Opposing players not knowing you can ride through it will adjust their course to avoid it thinking they will become hung on it.

This Is a TCG item, it does exist.
It Creates a chair to sit on and a large umbrela over you. and yes you can fish from it.

It's funny... up until recently, you couldn't sit down while you were fishing. I wonder if they changed that just so they could do this chair.

From what I see in the info it's a 3 minute CD on the item and the chair lasts for 3 minutes? Can anybody verify that? It'd sure beat the hour CD on the pot of gumbo...

i have one, makes fishing not as boring got skill up by 100 last night lol, although i think im one of the 1st to have it on our server, as i get alot of people asking me where i got it or is it a spell, im a warrior i anent gunna be able 2 summon stuff lulz

People are asking for almost $70 for this card....I'd rather buy a couple of decks and take my chances then buying to for that much..so pricey.

Just got mine today. Has anyone figured out how to dismiss it? Right clicking just makes u site down again and there is no icon in the buff line. Nor does it time out and disappear. The 3 min cool down refers to making a new chair. I'll post if I figure it out.

I got the Gone Fishin' card yesterday,and I thought I'd get a code,but it's a rare card,not legendary,and there's no code on it.

Is this just a mistake,or are there two types of cards?

The duration of this was changed from 3 minutes to 6 minutes by Patch 2.3, which is good news, but 10 minutes would have been nicer.

yeah, the TCG redeem cards are very rare. I have a card shop and they are rare. I would say sure i'll sell anyone the 6 to 10 boxes of cards at 100.00 + dollars apiece, good for my business. But i think you would have a better chance getting one online. Now if you are into the card game, then by all means you would want to buy the cards, because you obviously play the TCG (card game).
