You (the hunter) must consume them and the buff is given to your pet that way. You do not feed them directly to your pet using feed pet.

From a raiding Warlock point of view, this is awesome. 20 strength equals 40 attackpower, in combat under the effect of demonic frenzy it is 60 attackpower however, which is about 4.5 DPS.

The spirit is neglectable, the only problem is that most encounters require you to use Sporeling snack (20 stamina) for your pet to have a chance to survive the entire fight.

My cat doesn't like this, so it wasn't tested by all pets. He doesn't like the sporeling snackes either. So I am chit out of luck on the pet buff food, unless there is one I don't know about.

Awwww, you have to eat it for it to work. How weird, lol.

don't try to use the feed pet ability to use these. Just right click on the actual food, and your pet will get the buff.

I made this today and tested this with a Frostsaber Tiger (from wintersprings) and a Warp Stalker - neither would take it.

Ok all you hunters here is in for from the chef mage...The sporeling snacks are eaten by meat and fungus eaters and these generally are prefferred by pets who eat fish as well as meats. some rares made need research by gertting your server's food vendor to send you a sample of each to try em out.
Locks. your pet can use te well fed buff too? only for fel hounds or for all? let me know thanks.

Warlocks can use this. I am FG specced so only used it for tiny head, but I'd assume it works for the others. I received this recipe from the daily cooking quest in a barrel of fish.

Applies buff Well Fed to your pet, instantly upon usage, outside of combat.

The sporeling snack and kibler's bits were introduced as a way to give food buffs to your pets. They are used as an item, not actually fed to pets, meaning warlocks can use them too. Warlocks will probably want sporeling for STA while hunters want kibler for STR. Anyone else should just sell them.
