Does anyone can confirm that the Red clothes are only for Alliance-Tailors? Because I so much want to have the red one, and only got the pattern for the green Clothes. And also did to this moment have not seen one Horde player wearing the red ones.

Unsure if this is random. I have three tailors, two which are 375. I did not get the pattern on any of them. Two guildmates received the pattern. Others did not. So not really sure how this is working. As a note I did get the Winter Boots on my Leatherworker, however no cooking recipes as of yet.

My mage is level 26 and has not received this, so it may only go to level 50+ tailors.

My level 25 Troll Priest with 201 tailoring got the green version of this, but across all the many servers I have alts on, for both factions, she was the only one to get it, and she is not my highest level tailor - in character level nor tailoring skill.

Seems to be completely random.

Good news ! You're supposed to get new patterns like directly in your mail from Great Father Winter himself. Bad news, nobody exactly knows how to get them.

We're currently investigating this matter—quite avidly, to be brutally honest—and hope to reach a solid answer shortly; until then, we will be unable to directly assist any players who have not yet received Winter Veil patterns or recipes, as we must establish baseline requisites before providing such items to the public.

Once more, you have my most sincere apologies for leading you astray; nonetheless, our intent has not changed—we still wish to ensure that all those deserving of these patterns and recipes acquire them—though our method of "attack" has altered slightly for the time being.

This pattern is available via the Smokeywood Pastures vendor in Ironforge (possibly other major cities too), along with the boots pattern and the cider recipe. The pattern is bind on pickup.

Been waiting and plotting since they moved the patterns from mail to vendor (because not all players got the pattern in mail like intended). And indeed it's possible to buy the pattern meant for the other faction... It's a bit tricky, my lvl 37 warlock had about 1.5 second to resurrect, open the npc dialog and buy the pattern. But now I can make both green & red winter clothes :P.

If you dare try this, be sure to memorize the location of the pattern in the npc dialog. (bottom right at the moment) You might only have half a second left when the npc dialog appears before the guards get you. (don't know if high level chars have more time).
And remember: the pattern is 'bind on pickup' so you must get it with the char on which you want to craft the item.

yup, very possible. i did it on a 15 warlock fairly easily, the only problem is running all the way. and ya, make sure you know that the pattern is the bottom right one when you open up the vendor window, had a 70 shaman and rogue just take out the gate for me, put on the christmas suit as a "disguise" lol and the rogue sapped his way through with the shaman taking the other ones for me. i got to the vendor and died, then ressed at his feet and bought it before i got one shot, spirit ressed, and hearthed back to silvermoon =]. hopefully these will sell for quite a bit

Very possible but also very annoying. I must've died 15 different times trying to get it just right. Even then I had to sacrifice the VW for the shield to get enough time. The NPC that sells them now has quest and goods, so you have to click on the I'd like to browse your goods button, which takes up time.
I'd recommend going as a group. But I was so happy when I finished getting this, so I think it was very worth it.

not sure of the valitity of this but apparently the red set aer allience and the green set are horde and as blizz for some reason has seen fit to make these BoP the only way horde can get a red clothes or allience the green clothes is by the goblin AH.

lastly if you look for the colour not assined to your fraction remember your limited to the dreated items not teh recipe themselves...damn BoP

You know what sucks? Realm: Blackhand was bugged...we haven't gotten the patttern. Great Father Winter better not think i've been naughty...but i hope it clears up pretty soon

This may not be received by all tailors, perhaps... my baby Lock who is a tailor (she's level 11, so very early in tailoring) didn't get this pattern.

I'm a lvl 70 horde lock with 375 tailoring. I received a Pattern: Green Winter Clothes in the mail day before yesterday from Greatfather Winter, along with a recipe for Hot Apple Cider. But, as far as green for horde and red for alliance, I've seen horde players in Orgrimmar wearing red winter clothes, so i think the color's random and not by faction.

I dont think it matters which faction as to which color you get because I was able to purchase both colors at the AH in Stormwind.

The vendor isn't tied to any Alliance faction, so I was able to sneak into Ironforge on my level 63 Blood Elf Mage alt and buy this recipe. I went pretty early in the morning (2am server time) so there wouldn't be many people around to kill me besides the NPC guards. It took one death getting to the vendor, and then one death at the vendor to get my recipe. Not too bad! My bank alts look pretty cool in their red outfits while everyone else is in green!

Alliance Tailors (250+) recieve in the mail from Greatfather Winter.

Horde Tailors (250+) recieve in the mail from Great-father Winter.

Cooks (325+) recieve .

Leatherworkers (285+) recieve .

actually, my leatherworker was only 275 when i got the pattern for boots in the mail, its random people, all 5 of my tailors didint get one, I'm not sure its bassed on the lvl of your profs, it might be.

The first day of winter veil one of my LWs got the boot pattern, but my tailor didn't get the clothes pattern. The second day, my other LW got the boot pattern. I'm thinking that the patterns are handed out slowly over the event.

Neither my 3 tailors (All 375) nore my leatherworker (375) got these OR the boots (didn't get them last year either) no cooking stuff either and that's 375 for almost all my characters.

I just keep on getting the Disguise~kit and having to trash them yet again because I still had mine from 2 years ago.

The only patterns/plans etc. I got where from the present after stopping the Greench.

It is not random, if you have finished the great father quests in previous years, you get the gifts. If not, you don't. Think about it, how does the great father winter know who you are unless you are on his mailing list... say from recieving a winter veil disguise kit in the mail from him in a previous year?

I have 9 level 70's and that was the common denominator as to wether or not they recieved gifts.

Ok...I am confused/annoyed by this too.

Amarynthia is a Lvl 70 Hunter with 375 in all primary (Mining and Engineering) and secondary skills. She got the Hot Apple Cider Recipe.

Philyra is my Lvl 70 Shadow Priest with 375 in all primary skills (Tailoring and Enchanting) and 375 in Cooking and 1st Aid (not fishing) and she did not get the tailoring pattern or the cooking recipe.

Cernunnus is my 2nd Hunter, Lvl 67 with 375 in all primarly skills (Herbalism and Alchemy) and 375 in Cooking and 1st Aid (not fishing) and he didn't get the cooking recipe either.

Zemyna is my Lvl 34 Shaman with under 250 Leatherworking and Skinning and she DID get the LW Pattern.

Whats going on Lol? I opened 2 tickets and neither knew what was happening and merely said keep checking for updates...ok weeks later, no update.

I also posted on the Events forum over a week ago and Blizzard are as usual, ignoring the post and are as much use as a chocolate fireguard as per usual.

People in my guild have been lucky enough to get the cooking recipe on all mains and alts with 375 cooking but I've not.

I see the link above but it's for the US realms...nothing on EU that I can see :S.

As Horde tried running into Stormwind to check the vendors, Red Winter Clothes pattern is not on them near the main gate.
