When I logged on to the latest build of PTR 2.3, the recipie for this was sitting in my mail from "Grandfather Winter". He asked that I brew it and share with friends.

I wonder if distribution is based on Cooking skill or completion of daily cooking quests (which I had been doing on the PTR)?

I have not been doing Cooking Quests on PTR yet -- and I got the same thing as well

The two day duration, if it happens to be similar to the beer sold during beerfest, is on a 2 day game played duration. Like the brooms, it's not two days from the day you bought it but two days of you playing on your toon. So if you logout, the duration stops!

This can be an easy way to get decent stam/spirit food and not having to work for it. Just send the ham to a bank alt that you rarely get on. Maybe make a bank alt just for this food. Send your main a stack or two ONLY when you need it. This way you have easy food all year round!

Blizzard in PTR patch notes as of this post, says that they are turning the brooms cooldown timer to no longer be game played. Meaning the cooldown will still run even if you logout.

If they are going to do this for food, is yet to be seen. I still have plenty of beerfest beer so heres hoping it stays as is.

(Note: I made the same post for holiday ham, Honeyed Holiday Ham however with this food you could always just send the mats to your bank and make it as needed. Both food gives the same buff, however this is the mana version and is a bit cheaper.)

NEWSFLASH

These do not degrade if put in a guild vault. The 3 stacks of cider I put in 4 days ago are still there.

Where do they say 2 day duration? I'm making them now and they don't have any duration on them - I've even zoned a few times and no text on the tooltip

Update - logged on and off now a few times and still no duration

The limited duration is stated on the Sparkling Apple Cider and not the cooked item itself.

Made 3 stacks at about 12g per stack for mats to sell as I'm to low level to use them.

The cider only lasts for 2 days and when I tried to put it in the AH I got a message that "Can't sell a conjured item". Got 32s per stack from the vendor.

....is that there's only a 2 days duration on these. And I found out AFTER having made over 400 of these, thinking I could have some in spare for instances later on.
So I just wasted a ton of gold on something I have to use within 2 days.....

The duration seems to have gone away....I wonder if it was only the first day. Cause after that it was gone?

Yeah,i noticed all that before, too. But now all of a sudden I no longer see the 2 day duration on it. Does that mean it no longer has a duration or am I just mistaken. I'm guessing seeing how cheap and awesome this stuff is blizz may not want us to keep it, but maybe not.

i asked a gm about it and he said "it shouldnt expire" but he refused to say "it will not" and he closed chat, while i was writing.

i think they dont want to answer or give info about this item.but i dont care if it is expiring or not.i made 1800 of them and send to a bank char of me. believe me or not if you dont login the char. item WONT expire. thats why i still have some brewfest beers :D

It used to show a duration, on both the ingredient and the product. However, when I mailed the item to another character and back, the duration disappeared. I made a full mail (12stacks) of these, and I'm still enjoying them.

The only downside is that there's 30sta food around. So as a tank using only 20sta is not appropriate for the content past Karazhan.

It is unfair to the players that sell the real 20sta food, but I'm not that rich as a tank so hey =P But after all it is a holiday item, and it should have despawned when the holidays were over.
