Took me 8 mobs for the 5 to drop. I agree with the high drop rate.

Yes, Don't be fooled by the "0% Chance to drop" shown on here.

It says that cause thats the % they have been looted total, and these orcs have been around alot longer then the Armaments.

I'd say 65% Chance to drop.

This quest has totally messed my daily rotations up, having to go to the Isle, then to Shadowmoon, then back again... Can these items drop if you are not on the quest? It would make this much easier.

I killed about 10 and got them all, it's a very nice drop rate. But watch out for the elites but they are pretty easy to avoid.

Or if you prefer Netherwing dailies and have the BT teleport neck:

Grab dailies from Shattrath, at least Gaining the Advantage if you have a gathering profession.
Port to IQD (via Shattrath portal) for SSO dailies. Grab Discovering Your Roots and Ata'mal Armaments. Complete Know Your Ley Lines.
Port to BT (via the neck). Complete Ata'mal Armaments. Grab Disrupting the Twilight Portal and complete dailies on Netherwing Ledge.
Fly to other dailies. Shadowmoon Valley -> Hellfire Peninsula -> Netherstorm -> Blade's Edge Mountains -> (Zangamarsh) -> Nagrand -> Shattrath.
Port to IQD (via Shattrath portal) to turn in armaments and roots.
Port to BT (via the neck) to turn in the Twilight Ridge daily.
Hearth

If you're short on quest log space or don't have the BT neck teleport:

Swap steps 1 and 2.
Hearthstone for step 3, and fly to Shadowmoon Valley. You can even do the Skettis dailies if you feel getting ganked by swarms of flying warriors in mid-air for less than your repair bill is worth it...
Teleport to Shat (via the scroll) for step 6. Fly round-trip to Netherwing Ledge at some point, preferably when your hearth will be cooled.

Droprate of 5% seems fairly accurate.. I am 1/19 right now. Edit: After posting this, I got 4 in a row.

I'd say this is a 1 in 5 drop. Usually have to kill 20-30 mobs for 5 armaments.

So 20% drop in my experience.

Random drop off of the Chosen, Slayers, and Darkweavers at around 70,34 in Shadowmoon Valley (For you non-coord users, thats the northern part of the Black Temple where the orcs hang around).

It's all the same drop rate, some say they got a ton from one mob and none from another, while others say the complete opposite. Just kill all orcs you see and you're going to get all 5 eventually (I, personally, got them all in about 6 kills of Slayers).

The drop rate is NOT 0.1%... it only says that because the drop is new, and the mobs have been killed A LOT before the item was added to their drop list.

Do you need to have the quest to collect these? I ask because I don't want to have to go to Quel'Danas twice a day.
