Drops from https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=23872, a new event boss located in Blackrock Depths as party of the Brewfest holiday.

The dagger itself is homage to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=12791, the once favorite and most revered non-epic rogue weapon in the game, which they would farm from the same instance.

Just for these babies, I'm going to finally level my rogue from 69 to 70 and go mutilate spec! These look like perfect beginning mutilate daggers, and they aren't unique to boot.

Great Muti daggers, although a lot of Muti rogues will probably just get the merciless daggers.

Because this dagger drops from a holiday boss, and it is the only item that doesnt fit the same slots as other items do from the same boss (Horseman : Rings, Ahune : Cloaks, This guy: Trinkets)
This dagger will most likely have a hidden use effect.
Just like The Horseman's Helm and Frostscythe of Lord Ahune have a hidden use effect.

I wonder what it will be though.

Hell yeah, a 2.0! All there's been at 70 was a pair of 1.9's - one was blue off Murmur and one is off Illidan, good luck getting on one of those trains.

Nice slow dagger for big backstab / ambush crits. Hopefully there will be a hidden use effect on it. Great to see they are bringing back the Barman Shanker model :D.

Very nice to see that it lost that nasty bleed proc that the Barman's Shanker had, it would often break crowd control effects/prevent reapplication of them, like gouge etc.

Similar in DPS and stats to Emerald Ripper, however, this is slower, making it out-dps emerald ripper for combat dagger rogue and making the ambushes a lot bigger for any rogue spec. Such a fun item. Dropped on my first run and it's a blast :)
