Yeah, Alterac has them all around the rim. Try going around the western edge where the white yeti's are, I can always find some near the edges.

Is this only available during the Winter's Veil event? I assume not, probably because I don't have much reason to be up there and never did much exploring but it seems like plenty of the recipes gained from the event require it.

The only plces I found them as plants to pick is in alterak Mountens and I oly find them un the snow so I think the name speak for it self, Ihavent seen any other places whit snow yet ither. I have goten som of them in Swamp of sorrow from the swampwaker but it is wery rear drop from them. If somone have found a beter place to find them place share whit us. On my server Ravenholt this sel for 6-10 gold and I need them for alchemy and tailoryng.

Here is where to get the recipe for frost oil. The vender is located on the back wall at the Ruins of Alterac in the Alterac Mountains. He sells alchemy supplys and frost oil recipe is 25 silver. His name is Bro'Kin. I found 4 spots to get Wintersbite in the Alterac Mountains. After passing the corners and before entering the gates into the Ruins turn left you will find the small green plant in the area. I found 7 in 10 min once the correct area was located. The yent are all around and the plants were all in the snow and easy to see they were just small. Based
on my WOW Atlas this is the only location to find Wintersbite. I don't know about Outland yet. Hope this helps. Oh I took an sold a recipe at the fair price of 29 silver and then it was listed for 2 gold with a buyout of 3 gold. Thats NUTS. Forst oil was selling for 1g 50s up to 2g. Money maker I gress.

because there is only the snowfield to harvest wintersbite prices for frost oil on ah are nuts. i decided to farm the mats, went to swamp of sorrows (7,33) killed (25) Swampwalker Elders lvl 39-40, (11) Swampwalkers lvl 38-39, (13) Tangled Horrors lvl 39-41 because they are all in this small area. The only Herb drops were from the Swampwalker Elders - 8 herbs from briarthorn up to wintersbite dropped , a kadgars whisker included, some guy gave me 1 wintersbite for helping him kill the 42 in the cave so i m out of here but if u really want to spend the time u can farm the mats . Oh yah three green lvl 35 items dropped. mana potions too

I don't have the add-on so it doesn't say, but it's dropping off of the trents (I think?) in felwood.

Only found in Alterac mountains (unless you get a drop in Alteract Valley).
Sadly very limited amount there.
On the plus... Can make good money in AH.

These will definitely drop off of the tar beasts in Un'goro, but only as one of many random herb drops so farming them for Wintersbite would almost certainly not be worth the time. That these beasts drop herbs even for non-herbalilsts does undoubtedly result in more Wintersbite being available on the AH for those that might need a few is a good thing at least. They usually sell for around 2g on my realm.
