The Shadow Crescent Axe is the logical step up from the Massive Iron Axe. This weapon's main advantage is that it is *very* fast for a 2-handed weapon- faster than some 1-handed weapons, in fact. This makes it a particularly good rage generator for warriors. The stat bonuses are quite generous as well.

Unfortunately this is an uncommon weapon, partly because the plans are drop-only, and partly because it isn't particularly cheap or convenient to make. Even if the smith has citrine on hand the need for coal (45s worth) and Shadow Oil (which may run anywhere from 1-3g) all make for a significant out-of-pocket expense well before the axe appears in the AH.

In short this is a very good weapon, but don't expect it to come cheap.

Dropped the plan from a Darkmoon Faire Lesser Prize, and make it 2 days later (I spent that days to find the needed materials), very very expensive, but very good weapon for my lvl 35 war.

I robbed a troll in Stranglethorn Vale and on the troll was a lock box. This was inside the lock box along with 3 healing pots and 2.84 silver. Troll was level 40. One of the skullsplitters or some nonsence. LATERZ

i think its worth about 3g i mean thers whirlwind axe and ravager soo why would anyone buy this for 2 levels? it wobnt sell in AH for 7.5 gold thats outrageous

It isn't the Whirlwind by any stretch, but it isn't bad. Pretty decent imo for a low level toon. I carry it on my 35 Alliance warrior, who happens to be Arms/Fury Sword spec'd(Whirlwind Sword, HOOYAH!) and from time to time I'll split a mobs wig in two for the sake of variety with this jammie.

I keep hearing peeps say that mats cost far too much and I won't disagree with you, but I'm curious, don't you have a guild or friends that can help provide the necessary mats for you or at the very least cut costs down? I know people get hard up from time to time and have that, "I WANT IT NOW!" mentality, but patience grasshoppers, ask your buds.

Its a pretty damn cool axe for mid lvl wariors with its stats. It has a swing rate of 2.50 with a counterweight.....can u say pwn in pvp.......
