Got this pattern today while getting a run through RFD. Dropped off of one of the Death's Head guys.
Edited to add:
I put the recipe on the AH and it sold for 270g in less than 24h.

Found this pattern on a server where my highest level was 45. Put in the AH for a "hopeful" 200g buyout and advertised in trade that it was in there. In less than a minute I got a whisper saying "Just bought it =) wouldv paid 500g or more for it." I was a sad panda.

Don't make the same mistake I did by underestimating the value people put on collectables. Get as much out of this as possible, some people would trade their soul for it.

after i learned it, i found out its a really rare recipe... and people in my guild have been losing bids on it for over 150g... so i sent them shirts to rub it in, bwa haha..

came back from MC and checked AH for recipes... the shirt pattern was on for 10g buyout. normally its at 150+. so i snapped that up super fast from some seller who's name didnt have any vowels. there happened to be another pattern on the AH with no buyout and it was at 1g10s. the seller was a chinese farmer so i whipered him the pattern link and "buy 10g" he said 12g i said ok. he hearthed from farming SM. i then got a second pattern which i gave to a guildie. the people in my guild who paid 150g+ were a little irk'd... lol.

Bought one in AH last night for 10G.

Last one went for 100g. They are very rare. I have seen them pop up more however when the Faire comes around.

Just bought this pattern off of the AH for 5g buyout. Figured it was a good deal since the shirts go for 2-3g each on my server. I find that Orange Martial Shirt also makes me a lot of money as well, so I'll try these and see how it goes.

I had the recipe from a lockbox last week. Didn't thought is was that special, I'm tailor myself but put the recipe on ah, for 20g, 40g buyout, it was sold after 5mins and there where those shirts showing up in large amounts on ah (for 4g) another 5mins later. Anyway i'm happy with the 40g :)

Almost sold the pattern for 10G until he gave it away that it was a steal. He offered me 8G when I said I would have to think about it.. he miraculously came up with 2 more gold. Hmm quite suspicious... so I check out Thottbot. Glad I did... because I decided to keep the pattern. If any one on Hellscream Horde needs it.. pst to Zuleah

Found this in a lockbox that a rogue opened for me. With another green inside it, it was a pretty nice box. Being lvl 34 I gave this pattern to a guildmate to make shirts for whole the guild.

Got it in Auction House this morning (on Korialstrasz server) for 20g buyout...now the only patterns I need to have every 225 and under tailoring pattern are : Green Holiday Shirt and Star Belt...if you have any of these patterns on this server pst me(Gblock), also if anybody wants one of these shirts made on this server, 1g, pst me..thx.

I dont know why, but so mutch(?) money for a simple shirt.
Got the pattern from a guild member for 3 Gold, that was what he still needed to get his mount.
Ok, its nice, but to pay like 15G for it? Dunno.

Guess this thing can drop darn near anywhere. Got one last night off a Ridge Stalker (or whatever the couger things are called) in the Badlands. Popped it up on the AH with a 100gp buyout and it sold in less than 8 hours on Frostmourne. A pretty nice chunk of change at level 42!

I have been looking for this pattern forever to complete my OCD obsession of having every pattern. Just picked it up last night on Tanaris server for 10g after asking the guy to cancel his bid only listing. Normally goes for 150-200g on my server...lucky me!

Actually picked this up in Ulda and I'm glad I checked here before selling. Somebody messaged me who really, really acted like they wanted it and when I told them I'd have to find out how much it was worth first, they got kind of antsy and kept bugging me to just 'come up with one.' Glad I checked here first.

I got this pattern they said LF tailor to make purple silk shirt then they linked recipe and I had wanted this thing bad so I'm like "I'll pay you 3 gold now for it I can almost make it" Then I swore on y mom's name that I'd make it the minute I could and I got it! he said he'd pay me 5 gold + his mats! :) I'm waay to happy right now

just found this fishing off pier in shadowprey village in desolace sweet never seen blue pattern before hope its worth mad dough. lol incase u wonder, i have 218 fishing plus 100 from aquadynamic fishing gizmo and plus 20 from big iron fishing pole...all out of 225 so its like 338/225

Found this in Un Goro Crater while upping my fishing so that I can fish in Outlands. Now my angst is the same as many of you. Do I sell it and make half as much gold again as I currently have, or send it to my level 44, 300 tailor for her to make shirts? That's a lot of shirts to equal the pattern...

found it on a level 41 scorpion in Tannaris, i know that it isnt listed as a mob that it drops off, I must have just gotten lucky, oh and it was the first mob i killed today also. guild says that it goes for around 200-250 gold on my server, Argent Dawn, alliance, if you are interested, message Korris.

Got mine for 50g a couple months or so ago. I've made a pretty good profit so far selling the shirts. Started at 5g buyouts and they were selling fast, raised it a couple times and now I sell them for 7.5g each.

Wow, the most expensive shirt pattern for what? a shirt with no stats! hmmmmmm... can we say GIPPED! I knew you could!...The Dark Silk shirt is much better looking with the red thrills on the sleeves, so for looks, this shirt isn't better, perhaps the same. I can sell Dark Silk shirts for 2g buyout, but if I had this pattern, I would have to compete with 3 others selling Rich Purple shirts for 1.5-2g buyout. No thx. Heh, and I'm certainly not paying 50-100g for the pattern. Maybe ill pick it up for 5-10g which is a better representation of Price vs rarity vs "non-useful, but looks nice" item!

Just for a point referance I just sold it on Ravencrest for 228 gold. It was in the AH for about 4 hours and went. Not bad for an item that dropped in a 32-40 zone.

Saw 2 in the AH at the same time but one of them was a known farmer and wanted 100g for it. The other person went off his price and it was at 80g.

I was in Western Plaguelands and a friend alt messaged me to help him with kill Herod in Scarlet Monastery. He was a Warlock so I travelled across quickly and entered the instance. He summoned me, we killed Herod. It wasn't all altruistic, I went in hopes of getting the 'Scarlet Tabard'.

As I was just wandering around after I killed him I saw a treasure chest with my treasure finding racial. I opened the chest and ...voila. I quickly googled the recipe and then I realised the worth and value of the item. I dithered whether to sell it for 200+ gold but then I realized WoW gold is just WoW gold. I ended up learning the recipe and made a couple for some of my friends on the server.

Happy to be one of the designer tailors on WoW Classic Kurinaxx!
