for those of you trying to get this recipe through the delta cards..the recipe is learnt automatically and goes straight into your recipe inventory, IT IS NOT A RECIPE THAT GOES ON YOUR BAG!!.....once you have acccessed the 3005-D machine check your recipes it will be in there.....

If you get a DELTA security card, you can learn how to make this item by clicking on the card puncher down near Thermaplugg, and selecting the access schematics option.

Can someone explain in more detail how someone from horde would go about doing this? How can we get said punch cards, and which machines do we need to use it on?

1.) This drop is NOT rare.
2.) This is NOT a drop of the endboss.

All you need to get this schematic is a 'DELTA Security card' and the red card that grants access to the D-machine near to the endboss.

This is only available for engineerw with a minimum of 160 skill points!

First you need Delta security card. It's a low drop, so getting it is the hardest part. You can find it from AH though in some cases. The important part about delta security card is that it is not Bind on pickup, so once you have gotten your schematic, sell it forward. So.. once you have delta security card, you need to get the white punch card (drops outside the instance from gnomes and troggs), chance it to yellow card (again outside instance), and then chance the yellow card to red card (inside this time, near safe zone), then chance the red card to blue card (at that one boss in the the hanger or something), and lastly get the schematic from terminals near the final boss, in the engineering labs.

In short: you need securyty delta access card and blue punch card to learn this schematic.

(All above taken from memory, could be wrong or slightly incorrect).

Slightly off.

You get the White card outside the instance as a drop. After that, get the Yellow card from a machine, also outside the instance. Once in the instance near the clean zone, get the Blue card, then in the hanger near one of the minibosses (where you get the Workshop Key), get the Red card. (Machines are on the Platform in the middle of the hanger.)

You need Red card, DELTA card, and 160 Engineering to obtain the schematics for it.

Im a skill-lvl 161 engineer and I read all the comments and ive seen that you get this with the red punch card, the delta security card, but ive seen 2 different puchcard machines listed. Is it the 3000-D machine or the 3500?

i only needed the delta access card to get this schematic after completing the card quest.

i passed it up early in the game and came back at 60 to get it.

i stealthed all the way there then HS'd out. (rogue btw)

Anyone know if, as a 47 priest, i could solo gnomeregan and the end boss for this plan? I didn't pick up engineering until after i bought my mount so i never got this plan during the few times i was there. Thanks in advance.

I have gotten 4 of the Delta cards helping ppl through Gnomer and they all sell in AH for 1-2g (Malygos Server). Seems like it couldn't be that hard to get schematics. I have seen the ray in AH from 50s to 5g, so I guess it matters who's buying.

Lvl 48 (great gear) Warrior and i have 200+ engineering.
I have prismatic card, WHERE DO I GO NOW? I'm so lost. went down to where thermaplugg is and i died at the mobs . I didnt see any delta terminal so what do i do? Do i need to kill thermaplugg or what? I want the discombobulator ray schematic. i turned in something at B terminal and that gave me minor recombobulator so wth?

Just got mine. Picked up Delta at AH. Got white drop, turned in for Yellow card. Went to terminal B (right after the Dormitory area) and was able to access the plans.

I have finished the Prismatic punch card quest. and i think i have thrown away that card a long time ago is it possible for me to get another white punch card or did i screw myself over when i threw away the prismatic one?

I got the Delta card off the AH, went straight to the D machine and got the plans. No other card in hand.

You need to have the appropriate engineering level to learn it. It goes DIRECTLY into your engineering guide, so you will not see this for sale on the Auction House.

You ONLY need the Delta Access Card, you DO NOT need the Prismatic Punch cards or the other color cards - I tested this today, and it worked fine.

Happy Hunting - The Delta Card ONLY drops off the robotic creatures towards the end of the instance (Arcane Nullifier, Peacekeeper, etc)

Now I'm too kinda lost, I need this recipe for my alt. But... he's only lvl 22. So first I thought well I'll just go there with my main pwn the living %^&*e out of every1 and get the recipe, and then mail it to the alt. But some of your are saying that it goes directly into the Engineering skills. Meaning I'll lose it if I go with my main?

So do I have to go there with my alt?

Or is it tradeable?

Hi, I was taking all cards and I was learned Minor Recombobulator whith Blue Punch Card, but I cant learn Discombobulator Ray in the Matrix Punchograph 3005-D whit my Red Punch Card, only can take Prismatic Punch Card..

Can you help me? I have all cards, what must I do?

Punch cards have no relation to the dis/ray.

however is whatcha need it's alot more rare then a punch card and only one in your party will get it while inside gnome, but luckfully it doesnt bind so if you were in the bizzare situation of a party of all engineers you could pass it along. I'm sure that link will say what drops the card in gnome but I got mine on AH...

Just hearthed out. What a blast! I started by following the advice of folks and getting the white, yellow, etc., access cards. I got to blue and decided to sneak into the Engineering Labs. The -D machine was tucked in a nook on the outer rim of the center portion. Only a non-elite level 25 came close. When I unstealthed and had got the schematic, the mob attacked me, but it was an easy battle and didn't aggro anything. By then I didn't care either, as I had already got the schematics for the Minor Recombobulator and Discombobulator Ray.

So I didn't get the red access card and the -D machine still let me get the schematic. I suspect all that's needed is the Delta Access Card, which I bought on the AH.

At level 37, I could get within less than a yard of the mobs before i was detected. That happened twice when I got greedy for a chest. But the level 25 elites where not a problem and well enough spaced to avoid any adds. And they didn't run when low in health, thankfully.

Horde druids should watch out not to kill flagged mobs you find before the instance. I did that once when trying to get the white card and some trash alliance "skull" players promptly killed me.

What really helped was the map. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to go through the Clean Room to get to the Clockworks area. Also, don't unstealth in the Clean Room. The elites there are not friendly to Horde, I discovered.

if you are making this for an alliance twink character and do not have a main who is an engineer i recommend making a twink gnome. Gnomes +15 engineering racial bonus allows them to be the only level 19s who can make this item. Have fun twinking.

im lvl 70 shaman with 375 engineering, i have the red card but cannot find any way to get any of the machines 2 give me the recipe , its driving me crazy. the only option i can find is to upgrade my card.plz help ive been here 2 days :(

its not a drop, you can get it in gnomeregan when you
you have the delta key card you can hack the D machine the one where you get the red card form when you hack him you will learn to make the Discombobulator Ray

If you destroy your data access cards like I did after doing the quest for them, you can still access the data terminals to get the schematics. I wouldn't suggest doing destroying them until you get the schematics, but if you do, then don't worry about it (for example, if you take up engineering later after discarding the cards).

update: I just got this schematic on a new twink I was making. I haven't done the quests in a long time, so I forgot what needed to be done. I got the data access card and upgraded it all the way to prismatic, but the terminal D wouldn't teach me the schematic. I farmed the mechanical mobs until the DELTA security card Security DELTA Data Access Card dropped, and then I could learn the schematic at terminal D (and I picked up the minor recombobulator schematic at terminal B on the way out).

Don´t really know what i´m doing wrong... i´ve killed at least 200 addled lepers which are supposed to drop the white punch card, but i never get it. Not from other mobs in or outside the instance either. Are you supposed to have a certain quest to get the drop? Please help me.....

You don't need the Data Rescue quest to get the punchcards. You just need to farm the gnomes and troggs outside the instance to get the WHITE punchcard.
The DELTA Access Card is a green item which only can be looted by one person at a time.

i'm lvl 53 with eng 300. i just did a gnomer run... got a new white punch card from outside gnomer... went thru all punch machines. from allakhazam's 'white punch card' page, courtesy of Nutaris...

Loot the White Punch Card from the NPCs in Gnomeregan, inside or outside the instance.

Take the White Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-A that is located to the north of both the elevator or the transporter.

You will get the Yellow Punch Card.

Take the Yellow Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-B that is located in the bottom of the Dormitories.

You will get a Blue Punch Card.
If you are an Engineer and managed to get a 'Security BETA Access Card' to drop, you will also get the 'Plans: Minor Discombobulator'.

Take the Blue Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-C that is located at the top of the Launch Bay on the platform.

You will get a Red Punch Card.

Take the Red Punch Card to the Matrix Punchograph 3005-D that is located at the bottom of the platform in the Engineering Labs.

You will get a Prismatic Punch Card.

i had already done these quest long ago (when i wasn't an engineer) and am extremely thankful i was able to still access the machines since i destroyed my punch cards a while back (but not my workshop key :). i now have a new prismatic card that i'm keeping.

i also now know both 'combobulator schematics.

I just followed this and got both schematics fairly quickly. I love this in PvP and recomend it to everyone.

Took me 2 full runs or Gnomer to get the 'Security DELTA Access Card' to drop(about an hour of messing around with a 70) Good news is that I mailed it to my level 50 alt and he just ran in and got the schematic right away.

is the security DELTA access card something that is only lootable by 1 person? If im an engineer, and another engineer both go to get the schematic, can we both get it from the same mob (low %, dont wanna have to get 2 different ones), or will it be first to loot it gets it? thx.

We went on a run yesterday and also killed everything outside of instance and around halls ... never to see Punchcard drop. I've done this quest a number of times as have those I was with. Now, we assumed after about 30 minutes of farming that it was an Alliance only quest? Can anyone shed more light on this as I'll be returning, but want to be sure it's even possible for Horde before spending each and every day pulling my hair out.

There's been so much confusion and misinformation it took me a while to filter it. Here's what you have to do in Classic to learn this recipe. I just did it myself. This is not a boss drop.

Kill Gnomeregan mobs until you get a Security DELTA Data Access Card. The highest chance is from Arcane Nullifiers, mainly in the corridor down to the last boss Thermaplugg. Alternatively you can buy it from the Auction House (and you can also sell yours after using it)
Go to the Engineering Labs. It's the small corridor that stems from the one taking you to Thermaplugg (which also leads to the back door, and where you can find the boss Crowd Pummeler 9-60)
Use one of the D card reader machines there
