Good place to farm discolored worg hearts is along the road southwest of Undercity that leads into Silverpine Forest. Right after you enter Silverpine there should be several on either side of the road. You'll get about as many String Wolf Meat drops as you will discolored worg hearts, so those are good for low level cooking leveling as well.

This is gained as a reward for a quest in Silverpine Forest for the apothecary dude in The Sepulcher. I can't recall the name exactly, but it might be a continuation of the Recipe for Death series. I think it's the one you have to get 6 discoloured worg hearts for. :)

Comparable to a lesser heal. It's really too bad that the designers placed this quest in Silverpine where the reagents for a lesser heal (peacebloom, silverleaf, briarthorn) are already so easily obtainable. As a Tauren alchemist, I couldn't believe how plentiful reagents for either potions are in Silverpine compared to say the Barrens or Stone Mountain.

Is there an alliance version of this quest? While I most likely won't need this recipie, I am rather curious. ;)

Given it's ingrediants, I can see why it's located in Silverpine. I remember killing them wolves during beta.

The recipe is not gained as part of that Recipe of Death Series. That quest series has 3 parts, and I did them all.

I suspect that this recipe is gained from another quest series, with the same alchemy dude in Sepechtler giving you the second part of that particular series.

I ended up buying the recipe from the auction anyway for 6 silver.

I found this potion recipe on sale at the Alliance AH, with a present bid of over 11g. Wondered what the big deal was for such a low-level use potion.

Read the previous posts. This potion is not available to ALLIANCE players except through the Gadgetzan AH. On HORDE AH, its a few silver.

Someone probably make an alt horde character, earn or buy the recipe and sell it on the GZ AH, timing it so that their Alliance character got it and not someone else.

I sell horde stuff at Ironforge AH and peeps pay tons of gold. I put this recipe at 6 silver, no buy out and its already at 25G, with a whole day to go. I dont see what the big deal is. Even if you have this recipe, no one can see it.

When you need potions of that strength of healing, these are a better choice than upgrading a standard potion. The reason being, Briarthorn is much better used in other potions, or even just sold, as Briarthorn can bring in a pretty good price.

One of the things that suck about being an alch - the end potions are worth less than their reagents.

Even though this potion is ultimately useless, some Alliance players get it so they can say that they "have ALL recipes" in trade channel. (Although that is even more of a pain in BC because of the 4 old BoE transmutation recipes. I personally have never seen any of them on AH
