100% drop rate, if you're on the quest. At least I got it one the first drop.

It's not a 100% drop chance, I got mine in the 7:th razormane.

Ha ha i went and got pop and chips thinkin it would take a while with a 0.5 drop rate i got it 5th 1 razormmane haha.

Got mine on the first try off of a thornweaver. I don't know if I'm lucky, or these percentages are way off. Just to warn you, you'll get it quicker than these percents. It may also be higher for Shaman quest.

I got the Fire Tar from the lower level Razormanes in The Barrens. It dropped from the first Razormane Waterseeker I killed. I was surprised by this, since I really thought it would take a while to get this drop, seems I was wrong.

I got this off the first Geomancer I killed, in the barrens on Thorn Hill.

It takes in to account all the time this mob has been killed, even the people who didn't have the quest. Thats why its so low

The drop rate is not even close to the one listed. Since this is a quest item it is only dropped for those who have the quest. Therefor people kill them and don't have the quest, making the drop rate seem impossible. I personally got it on my first kill and don't expect it to be much longer for anyone else.

I killed 3 of those razorguys, and no one dropped it, and i was starting to think that i'll digg myself out with this one, but i didn't - the 4th one dropped it :)

i killed and killed more, lost count of how many, but it was not till i went to the next camp that i killed a waterbearer thing and got the tar, yay luck to all the Shaman!

if ur having trouble finding the fire tar, its at Thorn Hill, just kill some geomancers and ull find one, i got mine the first kill, it just took me a while to find the right place.

Wow thanks guyz i was spending forever in Duatar killing those orcs i got the pouch but no fire tar. I saw all ur comments and i admeditly went to Thorn Hill to kill these piggys. They droped on my 3rd kill

Lawl, I got it my first Geomancer kill, whoever is on there 100th kill is probably the wrong class. (the dranei shamans have it soo easy on this quest, I recommend looking at what they have to do.

This item drops in the Barrens, at location 57,23. Just kill the first Geomancer that you come across, and viola!

I noticed that I had a quest called "disrupt the attacks" from the crossroads, I was killing many of these pigs and I got nothing, after I abandoned that quest I got it first kill, just a heads up to anyone doing this, check your quest log! ^^

Don't be fooled, this drops faster then you think, took me 5 kills.

Got it on my first geomancer. The drops are messed up because it doesnt take the kills only from people who have the quest.

Got mine off the first kill as well. Pretty sure the drop rates are skewed seeing all these other comments stating the same.
