I have this on my 29 rogue. Its not a twink, just a character that I'm leveling up slowly, and spending a lot of time, at each BG bracket. I picked it up at level 24, and even at that low of a level, did suprisingly well. Good dagger, decent droprate, highly recommended.

I've been using this dagger since lvl 24. Now I am lvl 29 and I am still using it! It is a great overdimensioned dagger!!
If you can get your hands on one, you will be as happy as I am!!

Basically Id tell you now you are crazy if you didn't get this dagger as a rogue to level with in your bracket of 24+ I am still using it at 32 and am going to use it til probably 34 when the next biggest jump is and thats hypnotic blade. I use it in my offhand and it still procs and does its duties. Your crazy if you don't use this dagger!

If you think of twinking this with Assasin's Blade don't. Assasins blade isnt worth it to go with this. The Butcher is a nice wep to go with this because of the nice dps it has. And all rogues need a dagger because they need ambush, backstab ,ect.

got mine on first time doing the run i was jumpin up and down its a sick dagger, i recommend from 24-32 ( i love the chance on hit that it gives)

Why all the unnesecary downrates?

Anyways, not all rogues needs a dagger, could be good to have one if you ever want to use ambush but it's by far more common to use a combat spec and then you want a slow sword or mace instead.

And you can't use this with hypnotic blade as off-hand since it's main hand only.

I got this weapon for my Fury Warrior while doing Shadowfang Keep. There were no rogues present who wanted it and it was better than https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=6504 which I had for my main hand and I had gotten https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=1292 earlier in the same run. I now dual wield with this as my main hand and Butcher's Cleaver as my off.

It's absolutely amazing and its proc will go off every once in a while to do even more damage. Sure, it's a rogue weapon first and foremost, but if your a Fury Warrior (and none of the rogues in your group want it) I would suggest grabbing it.

Patch 2.3 is changing this from required level 24 to required level 20 while leaving everything else the same. No difference for bg twinks, but at level 20 this should blow any other dagger out of the water.

I must tell you about this one time when me and my buddy were playing horde, Im a Warrior and he is a hunter. We are helping this undead Rogue getting this blade and run through the instance killing everything. We get to the end and kill the boss and guess what...the dagger drops :D
He is so happy! Until someone in our party rolls for it who cant use it and WINS!
He gets so angry and we feel really sorry for him so we decide to run the instance again just for him. We add a warrior to add some punch but tells everyone that this run is for the dagger and that NOONE rolls at the final boss so that he gets what drops. Hopefully the dagger but his hopes are not high since he has read that this is a very rare drop. Anyway, we run the instance doing what we do best and kill the final boss. And guess what...the dagger drops again!
He is stunned and says "guys...what can I say..:)". We are all so very happy for him...until we see that the warrior rolls...
Everything stops...didnt we all just say that noone should roll at the end so that the Rogue could get his dagger? That this run was specificaly for him? Well the Rogue lost the roll to the warrior and if we couldve had fights within a party then the warrior had been no more.
We were all so very angry at him and felt SOO sorry for this rogue that had seen "his precious" slip through the fingers twice now.
Well some days after he messed me and told that he had gotten the dagger with another party. All things good at the end.

It took me two times to go there...and the first time my stupid @$$ flagged in the instance (play alliance) and got killed by a 40 tauren running his guys through...

but once i got it...OMG! this is a pretty good dagger, expecially for a rogue. the fire blast thing works perfect with blade furry or slice and dice...add it with an off-hand dagger that gives +12 ATK power and BAM! you got yourself a rogue that can fight his way through anything!

i just got this nice blade for my rogue. i just need to lvl up few times before i can use it (im lvl 14):P
my friend lvl 60 warrior just killed everything in there so it was very easy and fast im planning to start farming that assassin blade too with my main lvl 60 warrior so i can tune up my rogue.........

The level requirement on this dagger is incorrect. You only have to be 24.

This dagger wont stop your Gouge or Sap.
Only procs with Damage over Time will do that.

I got it with my lvl 29 Night Elf Rogue.
A nice lvl 60 helped me and i got it on my 5th run

Referring to the comment a few posts above, this is a very nice twink weapon. I'm using it on my level 28 orc rogue in WSG and my ambush crits range from 480-610 (depending on class) with moderate twinked gear and a +4 damage enchant... a tad higher with blood fury enabled.

I've neared 700 damage on targets with little to no armor. This is with around 225 AP. Backstab crits usually range from 280-400 on average.

edit: also using a 0/8/11(12) build.

don't try to get this dagger twice to dual weild it.. i found out the hard way.. I never realized it was a unique item, until after i paid a 60 4g to run me through SFK and it dropped a seccond time for me.... this weapon is UNIQUE which means one of a kind so therefore you cannot own more than one of it.. it won't allow you to loot it a seccond time.... LAME!

I have made this run 7 times and it still has not dropped. It is very upsetting. Luckily I have a 70 priest running me through so it only takes about 30 min.

i was travelling from Ionforge until SFK,alone on 22 lvl (human rogue),and 1 thing was hard,not to be ganked near tarren mill...but all was ok...then 25 lvl hunter came alone from ironforge 2,and could not summon,cause damned Horde ganking near SFK,when they gone,we summon people and we made SFK 6 times in row(it was from 11 o'clock till 6 o'clock) and only on 6-th time this shard was mine...but i wanted to have assasins blade,but from that rare mob looted only haunting blade...arrgh,i was so mad!

Somebody please tell me wtf is wrong with people?

First run of SFK, always skipped it in the past. Ran thru with a 42 pally, 20 priest, and 21 priest. I am a 23 orc rogue. Blade drops, i ask everyone if i can need. They say yes. As i type thanks, i see that priest also needed it, and won it. Please, somebody explain to me why this would ever, ever take place? Am i missing something here? Dropped on final boss. We got some really good drops in that instance.

Guys this tinsy-winsy blade odea ALOT of dmg in wsg my backstab is criting 350+35fire dmg so u can imagine how good it is for rogues! I gotta tell u a story...

KK so im soloing SFK on my 70 rogue (i stealth to bosses and only kill them lol) trying to farm assasins blade for my alt twink 29 rogue, i got assasins blade AND this sweet blade on the 3rd and 5th run! so im a 29 twink rogue... Twinkadoodle (Shu'Halo)

P.S. i dont use assasins blade anymore because i got torturing poker in MH and meteor shard in OH so for a lvl 29 twink rogue id have eithe 2 torturing pokers... etor shard ans buzzer blade... or 2 assasins blade =)

Wow! i ran SFK for my first time and that drops! I was so happy cuase i was ganna get it, and some %^&git mage ninjad it and ran off! i was like wtf, meh illl just do it again.. so irunt his instance over 30 times and guess what, NEVER $%^&ING DROPPED AGAIN!

Look, point blank. This is probably the best dagger for a rogue at that level. Warriors can duel wield swords, and there are a number of swords that do more dps and dmg with the same or better rate of speed. Furthermore, NO caster should be needing this dagger when it drops. First of all, any caster who needs on this is a complete idiot/ninja/wants it to vendor it. This should be the last weapon ever to be sold to the vendor. Second of all, CASTERS DO NOT MELEE! It pisses me off so much when I hear about a dumb lock or mage needing on this when it does them absolutely NO good. They just see a blue item and think, eh why not just roll it. Stop being an !@#$%^&, and let the rogues have it.

SFK, this quest was quite easy thought I was in a full group. I got most of the drops by luck (3 blue items). Arugal dropped the Shard first time. My Rogue gained a Blue sword, Meteor Shard and Seal of Sylvanas all form that trip + other minor greens. =D

I've run SFK about 4-5 times, each time so far he hasn't dropped it yet. I plan on using this though, I'm sure I will get it soon after a few more runs :)

got this last night after running through SFK for the second time, first time got belt of agural or what ever his name is, there was me (lvl 27), a 25 shaman and a 24 druid we were able to get the last boss to about 1000 hp left when all finally died, ended up getting a 60 warrior to finish the job, i won the greed for the dagger, it's nice!

i am a 25 NE Rouge, got my guildmate to run me through (60) with my freinds, every one got what we wanted, ran 2 times, this droped second time through. This is just awsome seeing how my entire level 17-24 life was VC and cruel barb NEVER dropped.

This is not a quest only item. I got it as a drop while just farming SFK for items to disenchant. We got it on about the 6th run.

Rogue on Smolderthorn has gone through over 40 times with the sole purpose of getting it and has not. Utleast I got every other magic item in the instance...

Got one on an SFK run with two level 60 warriors (we were bored and decided to get our alts some new gear).

My lvl 24 lock has one now. Can't wait to get to lvl 28, equip a firestone, and let 'r rip. WSG 29, here I come =)

lol got ran by a lvl 52 guild mate, on my lv 18 rogue(alliance) dropped first time..nice dagger got it off a need roll, lucky for me there was only a druid and a the lvl 53 rogue. But he didnt change him into a wolf, at 25% health?

Got in the first run yesterday :)

rolled 40 and the warrior -after agreeing on letting me have it- rolled a 36... phew.
also looted a nice 10slot baggie from one of the regular mobs in SFK

Which is cool since I'm level 32 and this was the first time I had ever ran it. Only got 1/2 a bar of experience, and nothing else. Then this dropped off the guy and suddenly everything was fine. In my left hand now, which doesn't look too bad, but the dual Deadly Kris of Power's looked a little cooler IMO.

(BTW What is the proc rate on this thing, anyway?)

I ran this as 32 with a 24, 26, and 33 from my guild 4 or 5 times, it dropped twice, and I got it once :) I dual wield it with bleeding crescent now. the robes or belt dropped every time I think.

I just did this quest last night, and i must say, this guy is tough. Just a fair warning for all trying to kill him or hopefully get this item (i managed to win it yesterday:) ) He has a TON of HP, he blasts for over 200 every 4 seconds, so try to interrupt him with shamans, rogues, stuns of any kind, ANYTHING. He also turns your teammates into werewolves, which use their abilities against the team, and last but not least, combat poeple have more trouble than casters, because the TELEPORTS around the room

I got this with the toxic revenger, theyre cool and look the same, i put a fiery on both and with instant poison they proc like mad. its really cool for pvp cause as a combat rogue i can kill anything in 2 seconds

Well, I ran on Shadowfang Keep to get this dagger, and after 3 runs, it dropped every time! I thibk that the drop chance should be at least 37%.

i have run SFK 7 times and all he has dropped was the stupid belt and robes
before then i went on my hunter (moircaid lvl 55 yersa relm) and i tdroped every time. WTF?

have had this drop once but died before i could get it(arugal's stupid werewolf power that changes a team mate) so my buddy picked it up and we played around and he finally got a fire ball with it. but i was just wondering what the drop rate on this is? i know the % is 15.11 but how many time do you have to go thru and get it because i think it would go nice with my wyvern's tailspike on my warrior.

I have ran SFK 13 times and it did not drop till the 12th time i ran it. The next run it dropped again, so my brother got it. I also got a blue chest item.. Got 40g off that and my brother got a blue gun also sold for 40g.. So yea i'm done with sfk

to reiterate on what a previous post said. i had the same problem. was running a buddy through on my 70 lock this dropped twice out of two runs........ when he ran my rogue through belt and rbes drops five out of five times........... the WoW gods hate me......

Good dagger if you can get it, but also keep in mind that if you are leveling as dagger, you can replace at lvl 30 by following the quest chain The Hammer May Fall

Should be paired in Classic with fast OH such as Bite of Serra'kis#dropped-by

I got 29 "Firebolts" from 1,003 basic auto-attacks. Roughly translates to 3% chance-on-hit (or 1 PPM), with 2 crits that probably translates to a built-in 5% crit chance, which dealt exactly 52 damage so it's a 1.5x crit damage multiplier. The resulting added average dps is +0.6, which can increase if you're using any "extra attack" abilities like Windfury or Sinister Strike. I also tested this weapon's proc with 100 +Spell Damage equipped and there was no increase in the Firebolt damage.

The animation looks like an Imp's Firebolt shooting out from your character.
