Dude, Fishing and Cooking have their uses. You cannot feed your First Aid Bandages to your pet. Your bandages cannot give a "well fed" bonus/buff. I'd be careful about who you call a n00b.

fishing in steamweedle harbour also yields the stonescale eel. an ingrediant for alchemy. makes the greater stoneshield potion and it makes the superior defence potion. first aid boy up there is probably some lvl 5 rogue. /ignore

Fishing also yeilds ingredients for various alchemy. Blackmouth are used to make Blackmouth Oil, which can then be used for specific potions.

Fishing also can be used to feed pets, and wityh cooking, the fish you pick out can be turned into a more useful item for consuming yourself.

Rogues also use cooking for making thistle tea, which restores energy.

As has been said--Be careful who you call a noob.

I have so many of these fish, but I have no idea which vendor will sell me the recipe to cook them.

OK, I can admit that I may be a newbie but I've been playing for about a month to a month and a half but how do you cook the items? I've made the cooking fire but how do you cook the items? PLZ HELP! :(

Level your fishing and cooking at the same time. As mentioned above, every low-area "trade goods vendor" sells recipes for low-end fish. You can catch these low-end fish in bodies of water near these secondary starting areas.

Specifically, Bloodhoof for Taurens (smallfish and mud snapper recipes), Brill for the Undead (same recipes), Sen Jin Village for Trolls/Orcs (Mackeral and Alabacore recipes). Although you can catch mud snapper and smallfish from the little pond in the middle of Sin Jen, I cannot find any vendor there or in Razor Hill that sells the recipe.

Smallfish/Mud Snapper are freshwater fish. Mackeral and Albacore are saltwater fish. Fish for the latter on the coast near Sin Jen.

You can use these combinations to level your fishing pretty high and level your cooking up to 75 or so. You want to have your fishing up to 50+ before you go to the Barrens or you will have a lot of "fish got away" messages elsewhere.

Any Whisker Catfish you catch hold onto and bank if you need to as this is the fish you can use to level your cooking after 50 for a bit. You can also catch these in huge amounts from any of the rivers (fish from the bridges for safety) in southern Ashenvale.

Another nice thing about these lower end fish recipes is none require any spices, just a cooking fire. You will learn that making your own fire is almost always completely unnecessary for cooking. Virtually every village has at least one fire that can be cooked on and every city has tons of them, including most bonfires. The little stove/fire thing behind many innkeepers can also be used for cooking. Basically you *cannot* use roadside torches or anything like that.

Thottbot can show you where to fish for some things like this Look under fishable items, then sort the items by level (and then name if you want). The Brilliant Smallfish is level 5. Then you can sort them by drop%, and there are maps, too. If you're a night elf, try Fel Rock in Teldrassil; if you're a troll or orc, try the Burning Blade Coven area in the Valley of Trials.

If you are in DM try Helms bed lake, in SW just about anywhere in the city. I also have found this to be quite profitable. Good luck!

just left click on the recipe icon and it brings up what vendors carry, limited or unlimited supply, and a map to find them!

The long, highlighted comment is a good one, and you should read it if you want to know about levelling fishing & cooking to about 150.

I'd like to add that the Longjaw Mud Snappers, which drop in Dun Morogh and Mulgore along with the Smallfish, are an excellent way to level cooking to about 125 or so. The recipe requires cooking level 50, and is available from the cooking supplier in TB, and probably other places as well.

The smallfish recipe is only cooking level 1, so it's of no use for grinding past level 50 or so.

Also, IMO, you're better off fishing low-level areas as far as you can, since you get no credit for fish that get away if you push your skill in areas a bit too high for you.

Make sure to start fishing and cooking early, cuz grinding it later is a pain in the butt.

How do I use the recipes I buy? I bought the Brilliant Smallfish recipe, but have no idea what to do with it. (Am n00b, sorry.)

Just right click on it, it should teach you how to cook the item if you have the required cooking skill.
Like they said above, level fishing and cooking at the same time, you can just fish a buch, turn around cook all of them and then sell to a vendor/AH.
