Where is the lumber in the deadmines? Deep into the instance part? or in the non-instanced Moonshire part? I can't seem to find it, but I've only gotten in the room right after the ogre so far.

it's in the next area beyond the Ogre.. you'll come to a door you have to open manually, and the goblins are right there, chopping up wood.

keep in mind this is from every class killing the goblins not just pallys

Even though the numbers above represent small percentages, I went last night and everyone got a drop on each goblin. So unless we had ridiculously good luck, assume that if you have the quest active that you get the drop.

Its a low drop rate cuz thay are often killed by people who dont have the quest. Then there is ofc no items dropping.

The drop rate for people who have the quest is about 75% :)

�How do we get into the instance part? my wife is trying to do this quest and we've killed all the defias ppl and undeads.. But now we see its in the "instance" .. How do we get there?

Can you get the wood even if you don't have the quest. I'm a Lvl 19 Human Paladin and I was wondering if i could get it along with VC's head so i don't have to do it again.

you get it from the goblin into the instance. i got it for the first kill. :)

This is way too hard for level 22, i mean no way in the world a lvl 22 can do this alone

I'm kinda disappointed they dont have a quick guide or all 4 items, and say look this is where they are.

they should make this outside instance drop from other elites. Yes, you either need a partner to go in there or else join a party then you gotta go through the whole instance... waste too much time if you already been through it.

I'm not an english speaker, so sorry for my language mistakes.
To find this Whitestone Oak Lumber I need to go to Westfall->Moonbrook and get down inside the mines under a big house, right?
I went deeper in the mines and find a portal, that takes me to another place,a goblin forge, something like this. But I can�t find the special lumber.
Any help? Advice?

I got mine from one of the Goblins right before the shredder machine boss.

The elite robot chopper is lvl 20 it is tufff to beat but for the wood it is like 100% i got the first time i kill a goblin wood carver.So dont let youre self inpresed by the pourcentage.

The level 16 elite Defias are really easy the boss defias level 21 elite i am chure level 24 you kill him bot his gard and him NOT GOOD

If its your first time into the Deadmines, make sure you have ALL the quests for the Deadmines first. Then you can go in with a group and complete all of them in one massive go. It can take about two hours of intensive gameplay to complete the DM start to finish. I had five quests altogether: the whitestone Oak Lumber part of the paladin quest, Van Cleef's Head (remember this is part of a long chain so the quest can't be shared if you haven't done the rest), the quest to get the gnome part off the big goblin elite machine (its in this area of DM that you will get your wood)- these three quests are all in the instance. There are another two quests which are given out in SW which are in the Undead part of the DM BEFORE you go into the instance. Its in the dark purple part of the minimap. There are two quests here - to kill undead and get 4 dead miners union cards and then get the head of the Foreman - he's also an undead. So its great if you do these two quests first before you go into instance - they are a bit easier and can probably be soloed, then join up with a group for the actual instance. Alternatively, share the two undead quests with your group before you enter the front door of mines and make sure you explain to them that these quests should be done before the instance. If they'll bother to listen to you that is, unlike the group I was with!

ok, i very nearly Solo'd this at 22; but i died and got a mate to help me - but i challenge anyone lvl 22 to do this!

got to the ogre guy on my own no prob but he's tough - hard to damage and he hits hard - i nearly killed him and was saving my lay on hands to heal up towards the end when he critted me and i died :( if anyone can kill him at 22 then grats!

the wood dropped from the first goblin we killed - but i dont think you could solo two goblins at once - if you manage to pull just one then you might be in with a chance!

and just to make it clear - the wood drops after the first ogre - you DONT have to kill the goblin boss in the big machine thing! it should drop before you ever get to him :D

So apparently the Khaz Modan realm is screwed up -- quest items aren't dropping, and instances aren't resetting (at least DM.) I didn't get any wood, nor VC's head. ><

at lvl 22 i soloed both the stone and the crate of ore, the stone dropped of 1st naga i killed, got a 30 lvl druid and we owned shadow keep and got hammer DO NOT LISTEN TO THE DROP RATES. next im going to mines with a little help and will have sweet hammer

soloed today with my lvl24 pally, 2deaths because aggro, wood dropped from the first goblin woodcarver, now only need help in SFK

do u have to talk to anyone before it will be in the mine ? or just have the main quest ? cos with the shipment you need 2 speak 2 that guy 1st in thelsamar ?

if u run dm's only once.......its really easy to get u kill like 2 goblins and u get the loot u came there for.......peace

I've run this quest 5 separate times as a single level 26-30 Paladin. In spite of killing everything in my path, I haven't been able to get the wood to drop. By the way after you kill the level 20 mechanical in the chopping room be prepared to take on its driver right away.
