This item is required to complete The Hidden Chamber quest (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=2240) in Uldaman. This item is dropped by Revelosh in Uldaman. Join this piece with the Gni'kiv Medallion (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=7740) found in the chest next to Baelog in Uldaman.

Once you have formed the staff, you place it in the ground in front of the hidden chamber to open the doors, and the boss Ironaya will come out. Once you down the boss, make sure you go all the way into the chamber to complete the quest.

Gni'kiv spelt backwards is Viking.
Tsol spelt backwards is Lost.

The task for opening the door to this boss is a reference to the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

"...the headpiece to the Staff of Ra, a key artifact which is essential in calculating the Ark’s resting place..."

The sunlight enters the chamber and strikes the headpiece. The gem focuses a beam of light onto the model city, showing where the Ark is concealed.

The Shaft of Tsol is for uldamen the instance, you have to find the medalion and attach it to the shaft then you get to a room that will require you to put the shaft in a mount that will summon a boss. Its right in the middle of the room you cant miss it =). oh and the boss drops (good feral druid gear)

The instance is named Uldaman, and is north in Badlands at the road to Lock Modan.

This Shaft is dropped by the first crappy boss name Revelosh. He's in the big room after you leave the alliance camp site. The madallion to go with it is in the box on the table next to Baelog.

Anyone noticed that:

tsol = lost (backwards)
and
gni'kiv = viking (backwards)

and the dwarves who have the amulet are the ones from the blizzard game 'The Lost Vikings'?

When combined with the medallion it is used to open the doors to Ironaya, one of the bosses in the instance.
