For protection paladin blacksmiths, you are best off buying this off the ah as soon as you see it going for a reasonable price.

The reason? Thorium Shield Spike plans (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=12692) are incredibly rare so even when you have the skill to make a thorium spike, you will often find you have to settle for mithril anyway.

There is no level requirements for this, just blacksmith requirements, so you can most likely put it on a 19 twink paladin with a shield, could save you from all the horrid 19 twinks out there =)

I just got them for 7g, buyout at AH :D. Earlier today, I got the Steel Weaponchain (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=17306/stormpike-soldiers-blood), for 15g.

I think 3-4g for the mithril spikes is a resonable price..

hehe mine dropped last night in Scarlet Monestary. One of my friends picked it up and I decided to bring my 27 rogue in to the Armory for kicks and giggles since they were 35+ elites O.O
They let me have the plans since I was the only blacksmith =)

Last thing I was doing were those guys before you enter Uldaman instance so its probably one of them that dropped it.

I can't use it myself (I'm a skinner/leatherworker) so I'll probably be selling.

I found this in Hinterlands, in Shadra'Alor off a Caster troll. *shrug* Guess it's a world drop, like most blue. Haven't been able to sell it yet. Do these stack with enchants?

Somebody didn't do their due dilligence.

There was one set of plans FS for 100g.

Then somebody listed another set of plans with a 2g starting price and a 3g buyout. I've never clicked so fast in my life!

The reason these plans are so expensive is because Blacksmiths can use these spikes to level up Blacksmithing in a range where much of the skill-ups cost 12 mithril bars + more mats.

I bought mine for 35g BO on Boulderfist

I am on Korgath but have yet to be able to sell it on the AH. No luck with a 20g starting price and a 40g BO. Geuss it isnt worth as much as you guys said.

lol ... i got this in a Scarlet monastry run , there was a chest in a dark corner , i let on it was not there we cleared all kill the boss and every1 HSed i ran back to get the chest and got the plans in it :O sold em on Auction House for 67g BO. :D now i got my mount money at 34 , my mate said '' u lucky bastard''
