It says trainer, but i dont have it as a leatherworker, so can someone tell me where to learn it

The recipe for the Druid Wolfhelm is obtained though Tribal leatherworking from the Tribal trainer is Stranglethorn vale - you need to do the wildleather quests befor you canbe trained in tribal LWing ....this is a guy at camp mojache in Ferelas for the Horde...

I just got the ability to make this. It was taught to me by trainer Caryssia Moonhunter, Thalanaar, Feralas. Loc 89,46. I spent hours finding this, so I hope this info helps someone down the line.

as far as i know all 3 specalty trainers have 2 recipes anyone can learn for tribal its this and 1 other and dragonscale its dragonscale gauntlets and the chest not sure about elemental though

wolfshead helm is a trainer taught pattern that requires 225 LW and you get it from the tribal LW trainer, but you dont need to be a tribal LW

this item Thick wolf shead is hard as hell to get ok ive killed about 400 things of each types of wolfs in ferals and hinter ladn and only got 2 WTF

But has had anyone farming this wolfhide with better drop rate? 400 killing for 2 piecies doesn't sounds well.

So had anybody better experince somewhere to farm wolfhide? I need it for my cap!

The Thick Wolfhide could also be skinned from creatures. I got a few from Mangy Silvermanes at Aerie Peak, the Hinterlands just a few minutes ago.

Probably doesn't help too much, but Thottbot does not give you the drop rates for SKINNING, only for a plain old drop. The rate may be much higher for skinners, like you would see with turtle scales or scorpid scales, shadowcat hides, etc. Haven't killed enough of these to know a drop rate, but chances are good that it's higher than Thottbot says if you skin the critter.

OK, so my druid set out to farm some leather and find 1 more thick wolfhide to make a Wolfshead Helm. I went to Sardor Isle and killed Longtooth Runners. I kept count of how many I had to kill before I got a thick wolfhide... The ratio I got was 1/20.

Having just hit 40 and being able to wear the Wolfshead Helm, I first checked the AH with no luck.
So I went looking for these in Feralas, killed 3 Longtooth Runners and got 1.
Promising I thought...
71 more kills I got the 2nd.
Skinned: Heavy/Thick Leather and Hides.
Drops: Mostly usless furs n meat, but sold for a few Gold.
Only 1 green drop: OOX-22 Homing thing.

Feralas.
Longtooth Runner (35 - 41) 0.68% (465,275)
The only ones I saw were level 40 and 41. And there were'nt many of them around.
I even found a rare mob level 42 or 43, dropped nothing and Skinned for a heavy hide !

If you see someone selling a Wolfshead Helm, buy it.
If it seems expensive, you know why.

This is one of the intial two Tribal Leatherworking recipes you get access to after finishing the quest, the other being Feathered Breastplate.

Hard to get as a drop, pretty common to get from skinning. They sell on my server's AH for about 15s each.

Got the two I needed from skinning Silvermane Howlers in mid Hinterlands. Killed a bunch of Mangy Silvermanes first with no luck. I found the Howlers easier to farm than the (invisible) Stalkers. Success rate for me was around 1 in 10.
