The Inferno spell can also be learned from the warlock NPC in Felwood, just north of the bridge, near the slimes area. He'll send you on a quest that ultimately leads to killing an elite Infernal in Felwood and learning the spell.

I had this drop for me today of a scarshield warlock in lbrs while i was playing around with my druid.

To bad it's soulbound.

It's not really that odd, it happens during the entire course of the game; stuff with a minimum requirement of 32 drops from level 38 mobs, and so on. It might be difficult to put in perspective in this case because of the nature of the item.

The Inferno that spawns is the same level as you. It starts enslaved. Drops of the warlocks in Blackrock Spire (BRS), Lower part for me.

u need an infernal stone to summon it.

Just like u need a demonic figurine to summon a doomguard from ritual of doom.

you can get them from any reagent vendor
same with a demonic figurine there expensive thogh thats another put off of the infernal

We did a 15 man raid to BRS took 2 runs to get it in truth kinda disappointing cos so far only managed to keep it enslaved for max 1 or 2 mins, would add that i looted a warlock straight away as noted previously which maybe helps? for general use its not practical more of a liability but found some good uses for it in pvp cos if it breaks invariably someone hits it while its on its way to get u so it aggros them and its quite a handful to say the least, and gives u a chance to get the enslave going as long as someone doesnt get there first! Blizz really needs to sort this one out bcos it tends to resist the enslave 50% of the time from experience and even when i get the enslave it doesnt last for long, i personally think warlocks need bit of an overhaul for one stackable soulshards would be nice!
Just wondering is there similiar trouble with the doomguard?

do you loose a soulshard if it resists the enslaving? is the infernal immune to fear?

By "helps keep it enslaved" I actually meant to the full extent of the enslave spell, which is to say 5 mins max......but you can re-enslave again and again if your carefula dn continue to use CoS.
A lot of hassle for a pet that frankly doesnt offer that much damage, hunter gets a far better pet without the risk and cost, major Warlock gripe at present.
Hopefully Blizzard will look at making Infernal and Doomguard worhtwhile eventually.
There reason was "A warlock is the ultimate risk versus reward" cept were taking all the risks for relatively little reward.

At last check, you do lose a shard if the Infernal resists the enslave, which sucks since I go through hundreds of shards in PVP.

But I haven't used enslave for sometime so I can't be sure if this is still the case.

As far as I am aware Infernals are immune to fear (could be wrong here), but they are still demons, if your strugling or finding it dangerous to re-enslave, use banish on it, will freeze it for about 20 seconds whilst you get some distancea nd prepare to Curse/enslave it again.

I'm level 52 and I just got my Inferno. I just did the quest found in Felwood. Solo'd most of it--except the boss infernal lv 55 elite you have to fight in order to get the spell. (If you get killed and the inferno turns back to stone, abandon the quest and get the fire again from the imp/gnome).

Got two level 60's to help me kill the lv 55 elite Inferno to get the spell. The vast majority of this quest to totally solo-able, if you don't want to wait until your mid/upper 50's to get this thing.

It is kinda a real bummer to get this drop in BRS when you have already done the quest to get the Infernal. I would suggest they remove the drop or remove the Bind on Pickup.

if u cant fins this u can always go to felwood an talk to Niby(impsy's master) and go on the quest to get infernal

Do these still drop from the warlocks? I remember one dropping when I was in LBRS with my rogue sometime around the summer, however, I haven't been there since then.

im just wondering sure its easy to get this thing and not do a quest but think use grimoie no quest rewards retards no soul harvest no shard of green flame etc so i dont realy see the point unless u allready have a very good wep or armour but i may be wring but i dont see how so in my opinion quest would be best awnswer

all you guys see it as a useless pet, and yet i like to use it every once in a while, mainly when i am PvPing becuase he has a higher dmg out put then say the imp or the succubus

saying that it has no use is not true

I managed to get my Inferno at level 50 solo. Except for the 55 elite, that was impossible so a lvl 70 mage helped. He is extremely tough. I found he can take on 3 or 4 people at his level at the same time and kill them, or take on 2 people 3 levels up. With my help he can kill 4 people 3-4 levels up.

It's best to set a timer so you know about when he goes after you. Try reseting your Demon Armor with the timer on, set that in the Interface Options. When he comes after me I turn on my Talisman shield, Curse of Shadow which lengthens the Enslave, then enslave if the COS takes. He'll last another 2-4 minutes. Try to make sure you have full health at all times when enslaved because 3-4 hits and you are toast.

To let him go, make him stay then run away. Or set him on a higher level guard and dismiss. Or dimiss, he kills you, then soulstone. After he is freed, he sometimes fights everybody, or takes on running to nowhere, or just sits still, then disappears a few seconds later.

But he's fun to take into town, or the auction house. Lots of people have never seen him, or want you to dimiss to see the carnage.

As of patch 2.3, the quest no longer requires fighting an elite. He was a a regular 55, and i solo'd him as a 54 with no problems at all.

Haven't tried to summon the demon yet, though.

Two dropped last night on a guild LBRS run. Irony was we had to pick up extras cause not much the guild was one. Other warlock got one i was unhappy to say the least, then the next kill another one dropped. Randomly i am noticing crazy stuff like this. 30 minutes after that happended two devout belts drops the same way further down the instance right before the spiders.

bunch of crap.. was worth 25 S at vendor.. did the quest in felwood so it was totally useless. Easier way to get it too, run from here to there.. own some elite, done

If you don't want to grind madly 4 it just do the quest. But have a party with you to help you kill Kroshius cuz he is elite.
But 6% chance is not so low... you should get one fast even grinding.

Does anyone have a strategy that could make farming this thing a bit easier? Its hard enough to find a LBRS raid, and having to spend 2 hours in the instance just to farm the first 10 minutes sucks (and no I cant just quit the raid after all the warlocks are killed, I would be hated by the entire realm)
