Confirmed,once you loot it it has a duration of 30min,the first one dropped for me

Got it in like 20th kill, plus the spiders is all around, so no worries, it wont take much of your time tbh.

For Paladins, make sure your Retribution Aura is on. The two Broodlings that spawn off the Broodguards hit for only 2-3 damage, so Devotion won't do any good, but once they hit you, Retribution will drop them dead immediately. Saves two weapons swings :)

Got mine off the 11th kill.

OMG.. really great drop rate.. 5% is extremely optimistic.. for me it was number 85.. really i had to kill 85 spiders to get it.. i got 4 greenz too.. my droprate was 1.76%

i went in with 16 stacks of ammo i came out with 6 stacks. its a crazy drop rate. NERF!

As mentioned, the drop-rate is abysmal. It's not entirely a waste of time, though; there are other things you can do while you're hunting spiders in Shadra' Alor:

It's occupied by Witherbark Trolls (Sadists and Callers) so if you so if you're short on skulls for A Grim Message, you can get them here.

This is also where you find the Atal'ai Exile, a questgiver; one of his quests is for the Sunken Temple.

The spiders drop Thick Spider's Silk and Shadow Silk, used mostly in Tailoring (and a few Engineering and Leatherworking recipes).

Finally, there are Mithril Deposits and at least a little Goldthorn around, for gatherers.

Any idea if you get the drop and don't go turn it in; if you can just re farm it? Or do I need to drop and re get the quest again?

Either the drop rate was fixed or I was extremely lucky since I got mine at the third kill.

I got really confused when i found the sac, did a couple of other quests, and when i checked my log, it didnt say . After i found out it had a duration, it took me another 30 kills to get a second one. So you better hurry back once you get mine, instead of wasting time like i did.

took ages to get the drop. I hadn't read quest properly and didn't rush back. By the time I got back it was gone. Don't make the same mistake

i also didn't rush right back to turn in this quest after getting the drop, meby like 7 kills to get the drop that first time.

now i've gone back and killed close to 50 and still haven't gotten the drop a second time. i've abandoned the quest and gotten the quest again and still haven't gotten the drop. hoping to party with someone who's going for the first time to meby improve my chances...

Remember that loads of people with thottbot loaded up kill these spiders without having the quest, and so can't get a drop, hence the ridicilously low drop statistic...

Might even be nearly 100%. Can't know.

Got it on my 5th or 6th kill. The above poster is right, the non-quest people killing the spiders skews the thottbot stats. Some people are going to have a sucky roll of the dice, some aren't, but the apparent day is biased because of non-quest kills.

It would be nice if tthotbot could track what quests you have going when killing mobs, and thus it would be easy to screen out what the drop rate is with and without certain quests.

If the drop rate is, say, 10%, then more than half the people will get it in 7 kills or less, but 1% will not have it after 45 kills. Maybe .1% of that 1% will complain here, more than enough whiners to make a very long thottbot thread.

It is a low drop rate, w/ the quest. I've done this quest 3 times now with diff chars. Been doing it for about 40 minutes now, 1 kill per 30 secs, no downtime, no drop yet

Wow i got it the first try. To get it, simply go southern hinterlands to shadra'alor there you will see the spiders, Kill them. Might take a while

Killed about 15-20ish and it finally dropped. Luckily there is a high droprate. The quest item has a 30 minute duration.

You have to go in side Shadra'Alor even though the quest says they are "near Shadra'Alor" most are inside.

hmmm got this earlier and didn't see it decayed after about 3 kills... went back to get another I have been at it nearly an hour no more have dropped... this quest SUCKS. The stats are not skewed by players grinding off these because nobody would.. it really is about 0.3%. There is no need to abandon the quest if you let one decay but DON'T LET IT DECAY, you could be in for a very long grind to get another!

This quest is like most other quests. Mostly based on luck -_-

After endless hours of grinding those spiders, I finally, believe it or not got the quest item I needed. Though did this surprise me? No, that's just my usual unluck in this game.

Did something surprise me?

I think that the drop rate is inaccurate because taking into consideration the other comments that say they easily got the quest item and my case that i took it 4th kill it just happens sometimes to be unlucky for some guys

Oh come on guys, it's 45 level quest and you need to acquire only ONE item to finish it, so it's obvius that it's drop rate is low. Besides it's UNDAMAGED venom sac, so i guess it's not in every dead spider which died after harsh battle. ;) If drop rate for this item was high, that would be stupid quest. I get mine after killing about 10 spiders though...

Its funny i get on here to find out where the spiders are and the only thing on here is about someones damn drop rate. Noone gets on to see the drop rate the item will drop when it does. They get on here to see where u find the damn spiders. If ur gonna post tell where. SHADRA'ALOR and there are also witherbarks u have to kill to get to the spiders. Its south of hiri'watha.

As recent posts have said, they ran out of time, well...ME TOO.

I was in turning in a few quests and I look in my bags and what do you know: "Duration: 2 minutes"

I was like "oh s**t"
