If you are a druid, you can use the following checklist to obtain good items that give +armor (or that simply have good armor themselves)for bear form. I hope this list is useful. Keep in mind that even if you are Restoration specced, it is definitely worthwhile to get a seperate set that gives +armor.

1.The first item that you can get is the Band of the Great Tortoise. Obtain this ring by completing an easy quest in Tanaris (obtained in the Northern parts of the Thistleshrub Valley). It is called Tooga's Quest (find it on Wow-head for more information.
2.There are two leather armor sets that give a set bonus of +200 armor when only two of the set pieces are equiped. This is extremely useful in bear form. The sets are Shadowcraft and Wildheart. Get the Shadowcraft Tunic (drops from General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire) and the Shadowcraft Boots (drops from Rattlegore in Scholomance). Also get the Wildheart Gloves (random drop in Blackrock Spire-you may want to just buy it)and the Wildheart Bracers (also a random drop, but in Stratholme. Again, it may be easier to buy this instead of farming it). These four pieces will give a total of 400 additional armor (add that to the armor that the items themselves give).
3.To obtain a weapon that gives armor, do the Gordok Tribute in Zul'Gurub and get the Unyielding Maul.
4.Get the Cloak of Warding, which can be made with Leatherworking or bought. Get someone to put a +70 armor enchant on it.
5.Join or start a Lower Blackrock Spire group and kill Overlord Wyrmthalak. He will drop General Drakkisath's Command, a quest item. Click on it to begin a quest to kill General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. As a quest reward for killing Drakkisath, you will get the Mark of Tyranny, an armor trinket.
6.Complete the long chain quest that leads to the Battle of Darrowshire quest in the Eastern Plaguelands (find the quest on Wow-Head for more information). As a quest reward, you will be able to get your other armor ring-the Ring of Protection.
7. You will then need to kill High Priestess Jeklik in Zul'Gurub to get the Animist's Spaulders, which themselves have very high armor.
8.Kill Ayamiss the Hunter in Ahn'Quiraj to get the Helm of Regrowth.
9.Kill Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul'Gurub to get the Animist's Leggings.
10.Kill Quartermaster Zigris in Blackrock Spire to get the Cloudrunner Girdle.
11.Now, if you want to learn Enchanting, you can make the Smoking Heart of the Mountain (an armor trinket). You will have to be the one who made it in order to use it.

lol... Lvl 40 Pala... Got my Quest Mount ofc, and 200 in mining... Off to Tannaris... Ran in to that big rock of a Turtle...

Very easy quest... Talk to him, ride to the shore... The end...

HOWEVER... He helps a little if encountering a mob... Was greedy, and took him mining along the edge... @ lvl 40 you pull agro, not him (lvl 45). Had 1 lvl 48 encounter when I was mining, but not to hard as pala, just takes tiiiime.... But u can just outride all mobs... U will fail, if dased by 2-3 lvl 46, coz the turtle will "help" you, so u fail, if you out-run them.. They will just kill ur Turtle.. :'( So stand up, and fight if u have to... But def. soloable @ lvl 40, if u look, where ur going.. ;)

Took the Wrist... ye ye, I know... Mail.. Chelonian Cuffs. But I need the +10 Int for Healadin, and don't care much for 120 Armor... Had no bracers with int on, so why not ;)

The turtle is named Tooga, and wishes to be escorted back to Torta, whom you may have seen south of Steamwheedle Port. They are, er... husband and wife. There are stranger things in Azeroth, I suppose.

Though the map has him all over Tanaris, I believe that is due to people seeing an escort in progress. All of my (not-while-being-escorted) sightings occurred between Uldum and Thistleshrub Valley (in other words, the southwestern corner).

People have reported a couple bugs, mainly that:
- They are unable to complete the quest by talking to Torta, even when Tooga is standing right next to her
- The quest randomly completes anywhere in Tanaris, and you can return to Torta to claim your reward

Personally, I completed the quest in the intended fashion. It should only take 8-10 minutes mounted, with stopping for Tooga to catch up. Try not to let him out of your sight and avoid battles.

Tooga spawns in at location 29,64 in Thistleshrub Valley. He then proceeds to patrol from North to South. The quest is called Tooga's Quest. Reward other than this ring is a pair of Mail Bracers, but they pretty much suck.

The xp from quest is all the 10 minutes of wasted time was worth, i sold it as soon as i got it after comparing it with the ones that i had, what a joke

Going to get this ring THIS MINUTE. I love you guys, thanks for telling us where it is. Not a great ring by itself, but for a Dire Bear with Thick Hide...... (120 x 4.6) x 1.1=607.2 Armor... FROM A RING Must have for ANY FERAL DRUID

I found the quest over near the south western area. The turtle was walking around in the elementals in thorn--something-or-other. Hope this helps.

Did this quest long ago, and didn't realize just how awesome it would be for my druid in bear form, and I guess I sold it. :(

Just watched Anarlina on Greymane do it who wasn't so nice to me and now I can't find the turtle and I know it(whatever it was) finished the quest

Just completed this, level 47 druid, took me 9 mins and 40 secs - well within the 30 min time limit (and that was fighting a couple of mobs on the way). Basically, if you can run from Thistleshrub Valley to Steamwheedle Port without aggroing loads of mobs you'll do it easily. Your toughest bits will be at the start, where the mobs are higher level. Once you near Gadgetzan the mobs drop off in level, making it much easier. Tooga is only L45, but seems to have a small aggro radius so stealth is an option in some densely populated areas. Don't race too far ahead or the quest will fail.

The ring reward is great for a levelling bear-specced druid. There are a couple of (relatively) easily obtained rings that are better once you hit 60, but this'll sort you out for quite a while.

The names of the two Turtles make "Tortuga" (sort of). Anyway, a good show of the developer sense of humor. Tortuga is Spanish for turtle. Tortuga is also a great Mexican food place. It's also the name of a famous priate hide out near Hati.

Get this quest if you can and you have the other 2 quests in that zone. Turtle will help you to kill quest mobs. You can make this quest when the timer is at 15 mins. Needs around 10 mins to reach meeting point. I collected 1 chest too in the pirate camp :)
