A well equipped combat rogue should have no problem soloing this boss. You should have no need for consumables. If your equipment is somewhat lacking consumables should be able make up for the difference.

The Phytoskin Spaulders that Razorlash sometimes drop make for great nature resistance shoulderpads for a leather armor user even at Lv 60.

This boss stacks a bleed effect on the person getting hit, which does quite some damage. Other than that a pritty straight forward tank and kill fight.

Duoed this with a lvl 48 feral druid and a lvl 54 rogue. The boss in itself was kinda easy, just be sure the druid have HoTs on the rogue, cause this thing can hit really fast.

The hardest part was to get to the boss. The room with noxxion is an absolute nightmare, cause the plants send out clouds of poison from time to time, wich breaks your stealth, and then all the little larvas will aggro you. But it can be done with good timing. Or the rogue can take aggro and let the druid stealth over, then vanish.

We killed razorlash 3 times, and got the shoulders, then the boots, and the shoulders again. Two happy players :D

Solo'd as a 49 BM hunter. Use Distracting Shot and Cheetah and kite him towards to Noxx's area. Let your pet attack, every time it gains aggro dps the boss down. FD then go all out when you feel comfortable.

His dmg will outdmg Mend Pet quite easily, so unless your some super twink chances are you won't be able to down Razorlash without having to kite.

Solo'd without any trouble as a 56 Combat Rogue.
Just pop Blade Flurry, Adrenaline Rush, Evasion and Slice and Dice. Then tap your Sinister Strike button like a mad man.
Ezy-mode.

Some other notes about Mr. Razorlash:

- Luffa trinket removes only 1 of the up to 20 stackable "Puncture" bleed affects. So if you have a full stack of 20 Punctures, Luffa will only remove one leaving you with active stack of 19 (joy)

- Stuns do not work on this boss at all.

- The Gift of Arthas potion *does* work on this boss

In general, Dodge % seems to be a lot more important than armor for this fight. I've soloed Razorlash 8 times now and only managed to kill him once as a 49 Feral Druid (with some decent twink gear). Make no mistake, armor is still very important especially if you are doing this as a druid (no Evasion). He hits hard and fast if you stay in cat form too long.

In the end what seems to dictate if I'm going to lose is how quickly he can stack that bleed affect. If he gets over 12 of them on me at once, I lose.

What I've been trying:
- 30% Dodge buffed, 5800 armor in Bear Form unbuffed, ~6000 HP in Bear Form buffed
- MotW, Thorns, Rumsey Rum, Elixir of Greater Agility, Gift of Arathas potion, Stoneshield Potion
- Let 1 min tick down on the Stoneshield (so after 1 minute I can use Major Healing Pot)
- Open with TF/Ravage, Claw, Rip, Claw, Claw, FB
- Bear Form: FF, Demoralizing Roar
- Arathi Basin trinket shield/Barkskin/Greater Healing Touch when he gets me down to 50%
- Bear Form - Build rage then Frenzied Regeneration
- Major Healing Pot, Rejuvenation
- Bear Form
- Walk back to my corpse

soloed him as 60 rogue, assassination/subtlety build with cold blood and preparation ..

got it on my 3rd try .. first it dropped some green with nature resist .. 2nd try i died (got distracted)

would be much easier for combat build ..
razorlash doesnt use magic against u so u cant help yourself with potion of some resistence

Well I failed miserably as a 53 rogue spec'd mostly in combat (6/38/0) it may just be my terrible inability to play my rogue very well going by the other people that have managed to solo him but I have to admit this guy was tough.. I didnt even get him down to half life. My evasion + adrenaline rush + blade flurry barely scratched him. As a word of advice you might want to bring another rogue friend or two along with you.

what the heck? I had just finished mopping the floor with meshlock or whatever his name is for the fungus shroud armor and he's a 48 elite also. Why the heck can i not even get close to beating Razorlash?

I tried twice last night and to no avail. Combat sword rogue with Thrash/Hanzo both with Fiery enchant and couldn't get him to a quarter with at least 4 elixir (Agi, Fort, Troll's and Giants) buffs and grinding stones instead of poisons. Wow!

I think it might be possible if he wasn't resistant to stuns.

I'm bringing a group and kicking his ass next time. Now it's vengeance I want! I don't even care about the shoulders anymore. Well maybe a little :)

i dont know but as almost anything in this game that is soloable, this is no match for a hunter. did him on first try, blues only if you wonder. and green hat :P

I got 5/8 wrath QS and Bulkwar. this flower thingy is a @#$%^! got him at first try but didnt get the nature resistshoulders then i died 3 time's before i got him down again, all times i died i got him down to around 20-1%, seems like he goes into a frenzy for 3-4 sec every now and then.. if u are unlucky he dot's you insane...

I managed to kill him alone on first try but it was definately not easy.

I use a mix of rank 10 gear, arathor 3 piece set, so my gear doesn't have lot of intel. And I used 1h with shield and I do not have divine favor, only 3/3 healing light.

I basicaly had no buff other than a elixir of intellect and BoW.

Like some above posters mention, Razorlash does have a nasty bleed effect that stacks many times.

Things to remember:

1) Don't try to outheal the bleed effect if you are a retro paly. However, always mindful that healing yourself when you have around 50%-30% hp with 1 big heal is the way to go (sometimes 2 may be required)

2) Don't save your mana pots for later. This fight is long enough for you to consume 2 of them. So pop a mana pot when you have used about the same amount of mana that the pot would regen.

3) When things get really hairy, use bubble (always mindful that bubble will remove all the bleeds) and make sure to heal fully. A good way to conserve mana here is to bandage and then cast a heal.

4) At this time he is probably at around 60%... A while to go. Keep on it and make sure to heal at 50%-30%. You basicaly wanna hang on at this point so you can use a BoP before you have to burn LoH. So at the appropriate time cast BoP and heal as much as you can (bandaging is also an option but you might wanna get only 3 ticks of heavy runecloth then cast a big heal).

5) Now with little mana and lots of health you just go through the same routine but make sure to use all your mana before casting LoH and of corse make sure you are almost dying too.

6) From here on it's all smooth sailing. Mana pot cooldown has reseted and if you remembered to recast BoW on yourself after you used BoP as mentioned in step 4 you should be at 1/4 to 1/5 mana excluding what the pot will regen.

7) And no consecration if you have like 3k mana :x

Didn't give me too much trouble, but after I killed him I wasn't thinking and Puncture debuff killed me

well as a 49 rogue i was able to get him down to 13.5% with only evasion x2 (prep also i suppose) he is dfinately solo-able at a higher level, going back for another try now *cross fingers*

it's possible. you need to be really lucky. have luffa to remove the bleed. you'll be extra lucky if you made a dwarf rogue so you can stoneskin. drink a battle and guardian elixir. immune to all stuns and BLIND! i tried him 11 times and killed him twice out of those trials. open with garrote, sinister strike, evasion, thistle tea, sinister strike until you can eviscerate, premed then evasion again, luffa the bleed dot, stoneskin to remove the bleed later on (sometimes i get dotted for 189dmg/tick from that), and have 2900hp unbuffed with at least pvp weapons at 40-49 bracket. got the stupid legs twice. still wanting that mantle so i can join the uber club. this bird's gonna fly someday.

Not sure how easy it is now that sword spec got nerfed to hell.
Then again there's a lot more new itemization so should still be possible at 51.

I had three chances to kill Razorlash before I dinged level 50, which is what I didn't want to do! So when I killed him 3 times, guess what dropped? Brusslehide bullsh!t! I wanted those spaulders for lvl 49 pvp but I can't get them anymore. I fought him before being sub/combat spec with the same gear and those were hard fights with luck being a big role, having to drink mongoose/guardian elixirs/scrolls. Then I respecced full sub and killed him with relative ease without any pots or scrolls! Dodge is your friend. I did have to use one major healing potion in one battle but that's after he died and I didn't get punctured -_-. Anyway, here's my new tactic on killing him at 49! Need 355agi unbuffed, lifestealing enchant, 2838hp. Deadly poison on both weapons (48 pvp dagger or sword + Thrash blade) have Thrash blade on mainhand, and I'm pretty sure Smotts' Compass helped. Use premeditation for 2 combo points, garrote for 1 (I put zero points in imp ambush or +dmg on backstab), immediately use Ghostly Strike, pop Evasion, Hemo, Rupture, luffa any one bleed (doesn't remove all bleeds and he can stack up to 10, it's a nightmare) Hemo, hemo, SLICE AND DICE, evasion wears off. Preparation, evasion again, hemo, ghostly strike, hemo, hemo, Rupture again, and DPS until he's dead. The key technique is to ghostly strike whenever possible, and 2 evasions. 3pt slice and dice is good, but a 5 point Rupture (114 dmg per tick) is more worthwhile . I never relied on crits to win this. DoT's are the way to go. Good luck, and try to do it before you ding -_-

Level 51 Subt/Combat rogue (0/20/22).

Since he's not one of those bosses you can stun-lock, I started out with a Garrote and followed with a Ghostly Strike and popped Evasion. That put me at about 99.82% chance to dodge, while I dodge and parry his attacks I spam Hemorrage like theres no tomarrow dropping him to about 50% before evasion wears off. After that I blow all my combo points on Eviscerate, hit preparation, and pop evasion and ghostly strike again. He got me down to about 2770HP from the original 3034HP.

Used 1 greater healing potion, although im sure I didnt need it. Had 1 Elixir of the Mongoose on with a Mighty Trolls blood Potion aswell and both my Thrash blade (W/ Icy) and my Hanzo Sword (W/ Firey) had +8 weapon damage stones on them to give them an added kick.

After reading everyone's posts on how hard he is, I was kinda tempted to not try it but im glad I did anyways. Sadly, he dropped the sandals and im still after the shoulders. Best of luck to you all, im heading for attempt 2 now!

Killed this thing 3 times... Gotten every drop he offers EXCEPT the shoulders. Like my 30th time in the instance asa whole (solo, clearings, and group runs) and no shoulders...

Maybe I can sew a few pairs of these boots together and make some shoulders :(

Seen many posts on how easy this pot-plant is to solo.
Not so easy with a feral druid.
I tried it once at L50 without the luffa and once at L51 with
the luffa. Died both times...quickly.
His puncture gets you. The luffa removes it once, but he simply punctures you again, and boy, does he stack them !
Didn't bother trying to shapeshift to heal, my health was rocketing down way too fast.
My druid had about 4500HP. Can't take him down fast enough in bear form, even with mangle.

If you're a feral druid, L50+ and want the phytoskin spaulders or other drops from Razorlash, and you want to go it alone, I have found only one way to do it. I finally managed it
at L61. I have seen posts on other forums where other feral duids have *just* managed it 1 time out of 10, but that's an awful lot of money in durability loss. The majority of posts on
forums say he is just about impossible by a feral druid, all the way up to L60, which is ridiculous if you consider that at L61 a feral druid can take down Incendius in BRD, a L53-55 elite boss ?
(Razorlash is a L46-48 elite, and he is seriously overpowered)
There is a way that you can get 3 almost guaranteed tries at taking him down.
The Razorlash fight is a nightmare race against time. His puncture DoT can nuke a 7000+ Hitpoint bear. I reckon he can take you down even if you have 8000 or even 9000 HP.
To take Razorlash down you can't go solo.

But you don't have to take another player with you.
At L52, head for Everlook in Winterspring and find a little she-goblin called Umi Rumplesnicker.
Do the quest chain 'Are we there, Yeti ?'
(Thottbot says this is obtainable at L52 - I did it quite a few levels afterwards)
The quest runs you around the world a bit, but stick with it.
I should let you know that I only managed to solo Razorlash at L61 (even at L61 the phytoskin spaulders are good shoulders), so if you're feeling brave, try it at a lower level....just make sure you have a huge amount of hitpoints for your level.

Take your Mechanical Yeti (3 charges), and any stamina/strength/agility scrolls, as well as buff food, health potions etc and head for Maraudon. Stealth through the orange side to Razorlash. Sneak in behind him in his cave. Squeeze right up to the wall at the back of the cave.
Release a Yeti. The Yeti is pretty small, but he's high enough level and he does pack a bit of a punch !
He is also completely uncontrollable, and will simply charge straight at Razorlash.

And the reason why your yeti is the key to this fight ?
You can HEAL HIM.
Yup, your yeti will be tanking the first minute or two of this fight depending on how long you can keep him alive. My yeti managed to take 15% hitpoints off Razorlash, and oddly enough,
I somehow managed to NOT get Razorlash's aggro while I healed the Yeti. Dunno why not ? I gave my yeti a bit of time to get aggro, but don't delay healing him for too long....
I reckon I could have got more off Razorlash, I just didn't react in time when Razorlash stacked his punctures on the poor furry sod.

When Razorlash punctures Yeti, SPAM BIG HEALS on your Yeti-tank.
Your yeti doesn't have anywhere near as many hitpoints as you. One moment your yeti will be on 80-90% health, but when that puncture DoT tics, he will be on 20% health. Use Regrowth and healing touch. (Rejuvenation won't do much for him). The other thing you need to keep your eye on is the amount of mana you have. Use Innervate early, but DO NOT take a mana potion - you need to keep the potion option open for a healing potion.

Your yeti will go down - you won't be able to keep him alive forever. When he does, Razorlash will come straight for you. Go bear. Keep demoralizing roar on him, mangle and maul. Use frenzied regeneration, and shapeshift to take a healing potion and whatever else you brought with you, which may include crystal restores from Un'goro crater or Whipper roots from Felwood.
Don't shapeshift when you are on 30% health - this is too late. Take that potion when you are on 60% or more health, then knuckle down in bear form again.

I only *just* managed to take Razorlash down. His puncture was still on me when he died, I shapeshifted to heal, but too late. Corpse ran back the instance, stealthed back to Razorlash and looted.
Phytoskin spaulders, first time.
Glad I don't have to do this diabolical super-villain triffid again.

I remember attemtping to solo this guy on a feral, I didn't stand a chance =P He is a PROPER boss, he has a truckload of hp and hits fast and hard, maybe just MAYBE a well-geared sublety rogue could pull it off by popping two evasions but theres no chance a feral could wear him down.

Maybe not good as epic analog but for time u spend for that one u get very good nr set. You can avoid every mob on ur way just kill bosses, and you need only two ppl 60 for that, it's fantastic stuff yoooo

I got it down to 6% solo at level 53, combat spec. I think with some tweaks I can probably win, so it should be np at 55, at least with combat spec.

What i did

. Ambush Hemo Hemo Hemo Vanish - For 4 Combo Points

. Ok start with Ambush, Reduce armor AB Sheild and spam Hemo

. When Sheild is up Evasion and Ghostly Strike and spammin hemo

. Premidation and Another Evasion When other is up

. Spam Hemo hemo hemo and Eviscrate when 5 combo's

. More Hemo's Major healing pot wen low on HP and dead by now

I was VERY Suprised when i killed him, i really diddnt think i would

Easy for a decent rogue. Just use evasion. The Luffa from the Thorium Point quest would probably help, but his dot isn't too horrible.

Easily Soloable by Hunters

Just lay down an Immo Trap, Aimed Auto Multi Serpent into the trap, get your pet on it, the FD. Help your pet build agro, and keep up your DPS with Serpent always up. He's not that difficult if you share the damage burden.

Just been farming this guy. 60 Hunter, mixture of tier 1, pvp blues, quest bow & stave.

The way I do it is to lay a fire trap, send the pet in (growl auto) and put serpent sting on him. Then I just chain heal the pet, allowing an autoshot between each heal, refreshing serpent sting when it wears off.

Eventually I either overaggro the pet through heals, or it will die from the mass of stacked dots outstripping the healing. Hopefully by this point Razorlash is at 40% or less, so I let him set off the trap and go into melee combat with deterrence, raptor strikes, mongoose etc.

It's not a guaranteed win, by any means. This evening, in the space of a few hours, I've had 3 deaths and 9 kills. (One of the deaths I killed him just as he killed me - ran back and luckily the corpse was still there, nearly 10 minutes later)

Drops:
5x Belt
2x Pants
2x Boots

Unfortunately, I am after the shoulders, so I will be back another time.

with my lvl 60 druid i just downed him.

they key is to go in as cat form, dps as much as u can till u reach 6-7 punctures, then use dash and kite him till the punctures are gone, eat a pot, heal and go at him again then u should be able to outlast him, but its very likely u will eventually die from puncture...

invulnerability post or switness pots might come in handy aswell

well, i can remember this was harder once..

'Farmed' it for the phytoskin. first 3 attempts some months ago only gave the bloody belt, tonight however i solo'd him, incredibly easy. Must have been my luck, since i dodged 80% of his attacks, got a mere 900 damage, and took his 14k down with my eyes closed. No dots no nothing. And the shoulders on 1st attempt ^^.

Ok, Razorlash may have been soloable at one time, but that definitely is not the case now. His puncture dot starts to stack very quickly, and you'll find yourself taking 500+ damage a tick from its nondispellable dot. Mages may be able to solo him, but no one that melees are likely to manage it.

Solo'd this guy at 52, with decent gear and elixirs as Subtlety / Combat. Bleed him with Garrote / Rupture and use Deadly Poison on both weapons, the dots bring him down eventually. Didn't use the Vanish trick (Adding CP's before fight) or need to use prep, so there's some leeway if you have a worse gear / spec. At 52 you can safely unstealth in the corner on his right, if you need to eat / buff up before the fight.

Use Luffa (bleed trinket from Searing Gorge) to make the fight easier, as his bleed can get out of control if you're unlucky. You can also time your evasion(s) so that only 1-2 stacks are on you at a time.

Classic, Nov 2019: Lv 55 Rogue, Dagger / Assassination spec, failed to solo. My spec is meant for backstab, so that is likely a large part of it; he hit me repeatedly between 120-250...
...interesting: NO bleed effect was stacking on me, not a single debuff from him...just repeated hits over 200. I died leaving him at about 30%. I had my luffa ready to go, and never had an opportunity to use it.

We were able to this with lvl 49 combat rogue and lvl 51 combat rogue. We both had thrash blade and vanquisher's sword. I had pretty damn good gear for a 49 (like 9/10 for a lvl 49), and he had pretty good gear for a 51 (like 7-8/10), the kind of gear you can expect if you run ZF and Mara a few times each and grab the relevant quest rewards, leather items, armors, etc. My gear was slightly better than his.

1. Sneak through orange. Put instant poisons on both weapons.

2. Whoever is stronger opens, pops evasion, and starts sinister striking as boss is immune to cheapshot and garrote. Use adrenaline rush. Use eviscerate at 5cp to maintain aggro.

3. Second guy starts attacking about 2 sec after the first guy and tries to build 5 CP as fast as possible to Expose Armor. If second guy draws aggro, use FEINT. This is important so that the first guy gets a full 15 seconds of evasion tanking and then the 2nd guy can get a full 15 seconds of evasion tanking.

4. After the first guy's evasion runs out and/or he gets scared for his life he vanishes as late as possible to drop all aggro (and then starts attacking again). At this point, second guy pops evasion to evasion tank himself. At this point, aggro should never transfer back to the first guy. This is all a very straightforward process but it doesn't hurt to be too careful so you don't have to corpse walk and then sneak all the way back to the boss.

5. Loot boss and reset instance using some other friend or alt character to get teleported back to the entrance of orange. Bring extra vanishing powders on each of you. Bring poisons and potions as necessary. Have a couple superior healing potions IMO just in case you get unlucky with dodges/crits; one of the 8 times we killed him he killed the first guy because he got unlucky. Because:

6. Boss seems to damage you when you hit him, sometimes, so first guy has to be sure that if he is literally <10% hp after he transfers aggro, he might want to bandage up slightly (the one time our first guy died, he got unlucky with the dodges and then died hitting the boss's reactive damage as he had ~3% hp).

7. Repeat the process until you both have what you want (the shoulder pieces, which I think are BIS for <49 rogue).

8. You can clear Razorlash on your way to look for Mesh'lok the Harvester Meshlok the Harvester for his Fungus Shroud Armor before using the instance reset trick to teleport back to the entrance of orange.

I started to farm this boss and Noxxion today to start preparing for AQ. Im a lvl 60 rogue with 4/8 nightslayer 4/8 bloodfang with Claw of the black drake / Perdition's blade. I am able to solo each of these bosses but I need adrenaline rush and evasion. A couple times I've used a Major Healing Potion just to be safe (its a long run back). As long as you are decently geared rogue, you should be able to solo just fine.
