Killed him with 3 tonight, he sucks. You'll need a tank, a healer, and a DPS class. He likes to shoot laser beams out of his eye, and it does a lot of random magic damage very fast (I noticed fire and shadow for sure, didn't pay attention to the other types he might have done).

Make sure everyone stays underneath him, as he has an AOE fear and likes to use his eyeball attack after he fears. If everyone gets feared, he will keep attacking the tank instead of turning on the rest of the group. Or get a Warrior to tank, I suppose.. :p

We got a leather helm with +85 Arcane damage. T_T

He does indeed have a lot of hit points. I'm sure of the exact number. He wiped 4 of us but we went back at him with one more and it was trivial. Spell reflect helps a ton.

He fears so fearward made it a lot easier, but still the tank got feared a few times.

He -is- soloable, if you can kite him into guards and take down a fair amount of his health on your own. Fear is a great help so long as you don't resist it. I got a little unlucky, I got him to about 40% using the guards, then made a stupid mistake and he went on evade. Haven't seen him since.

Very possible to solo as an Affliction Warlock. Did so today just by finding a clear path to the road and stick to it. He can't be feared or CoE'd so make sure to have a speed enchant and haul *&%. He will always stay two-steps behind you as he casts his "Glare" attack and falls behind.

And FYI... the Sanctum of the Stars guards won't help in this fight or at least they didn't feel like fighting when I was around.

As always Healthstones and Pots help... just don't forget to make them like me. >_<

Killed 04/18/07.
Spawned in the southern valley along with the air elementals. Group consisted of myself (70 Mage), 70 Prot tank, 70 Hunter and 69 Pally healing.

The DoT hit for nearby 500 a tick, had a considerable length and wasn't interuptable by counterspell.

Droped cloth item "of the sorcerer" with +47 Stamina, +31 Intellect and +36 Damage and Healing.

Man... as a shadow priest I have yet to find anything as good as this (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31220) Shadow Wrath bonus. Collidus is somewhat farmable as he can be kited, but I am wary of doing it frequently as I always seem to lose him (Evade bug).

My usual method of getting him to come after me is just to hit him with SW:Pain and then tap VE every 10 seconds (40 mana cast). That seems to keep him interested. PW:S can deal with the one or two ticks of his focused beam, but he blinks pretty close to you. Speed enchant is a must on your boots. Once when he blinked on me he feared me so be quick on your WotF. I'm hoping to get him to the horde village one of these times.

Its insane to think of farming this guy just for one item, but a straight +85 Shadow Damage (not up to... just pure addition) will make my day.

I check the AH every day for it too.... no luck so far:-(

As of June 18, patch 2.1.x , I witnessed someone try to kite him into Shadowmoon Village and the guards DID NOT help out. Afterwards some other Alliance members and I did it the non-cheesy way after he reset back to his patrol path = )

Even though a warrior's spell reflect is a nice thing to have for this fight, I tanked him just fine as a paladin. Having a warlock pet/hunter pet/shaman elemental/mage elemental/heck even shadowfiend, to distract his attention for a few seconds as a temporary off-tank during the fears, is a good tactic.

I would also like to confirm that he shoots out three random laser beams of different magical schools.

Killed him on 7/6/7 with an Affliction/Demo lock and a Resto Druid.

Kited to the guards at Wildhammer and found that guards outside (the ones fighting the Infernals) DO help so long as they are not attacking something already.

Witnessed a hunter attempting to kite him into the stronghold but it ended up evading. Keep him outside if possible.

Unfortunately, the Altar of Sha'tar guards do not help. He's pretty much an impossible kite as a hunter. The blink is greater than 41 yards and is not affected by line of sight.

uhh yeah about his lazer eye things, he starts with one beam normaly arcane( from experience) then persists to fire up to 5 beams. with 5 beams i was getting about 300 damage a second.. EACH BEAM he will fry you up REALLY fast unless it is interupted/reflected/outranged

Me and a friend (two affliction locks, him horde me alliance) did this EASILY simply dot the crap out of him while running, he will change targets and then that guy has to run, the blink has unlimited range, tryed and tested. i was at the blood elf mobs near black temple and my friend was at doomforge, i got blinked to O.O kinda scary really lol the only real limit is him evading. With enough resistances and pots. healthstone. voidwalker sacrifice. 1second resummon and then another you could probly solo this, not likely though, drop a shadow ward if he starts beaming you though. because i belive shadow is second on the list of beams :)

I killed him this morning with my bro.Hunter and lock.
Took me one hour to finaly get him to shadowmoon village and serve him to the guards.

Used aspect of the pack since his face melting lazers dont daze.And he is slow as hell, when he blinks on You, he doesnt even have a chance to hit. ^^

This... thing is a PITA. Tried 3-manning it with a warrior tank, boomkin, and holy priest (me) but warrior simply got feared repeatedly. Stance dancing would have been nice as would have being undead or having a fear ward or that PvP trinket but alas, he leveled via grinding and I'm a human priest. So we wiped twice before getting backup.

We recruited a 70 mage and a 70 hunter for the fight. It was still pretty ugly with numerous adds (which I feared away when I could). Boomkin kept aggro pretty good since the tank still kept being feared but I was able to heal through it while the mage and boomy burned it down.

If you see it, drag a tank to it. It's a good challenge and definitely will expose any areas a tank needs to work on (spell reflect, stance dancing, taunts, etc.).

awrite, i dont know what yall are talking about... i solod him with my lvl79 (yes 79, some private servers allow that) paladin... we went right at it... head to head... just use your judgements, and dont forget to heal... took me about 5min to solo him... wasnt that hard now that i look back on it, if i can find the mob, ill do it again, and post a more detailed version of the fight. but for a mob that lvl he really does weak damage....

Well, we had heals (70 pally) and 2 dps (70 enh sham, 70 fire mage). Our mage took aggro on every fear, but tremor totem normally made sure he didn't take more than 2-3 hits, aka lived. Eventually, the mage got crit twice, died, and the sham and pally managed to finish him off from 40%. I can't remember if (as the shammy) whether I used a health pot or not. But it's definitely do-able with the said config. of players. Done it another time in a 5-man group with only 2 70's and that was overkill, not to mention we had about 3 adds to take care of during the fight.

Did it with a resto druid, moonkin druid, warlock, and mage. I, the resto druid, just stood out of range of his fears and so was able to heal everyone without much difficulty.

Soloable for warlocks with a high healthpool and a sl/sl spec, because of the resistance bonus you get from your felpuppy and siphon life. Just kite him basically, to a town preferably, his damage will be outhealable with siphon life and drain life at given times, just don't let him melee you as it will hurt. Yes, even on Sl/Sl warlocks ;-)

Ye its right it can´t be solo´ed but you can do it 2 guys if you play well. Me (lvl 70 frost mage only 2 epic) and lvl 70 holy pala(4 epic) took it down just a few min ago, pala tanked it and healed at the same time and i nuked it. It wasent easy but not imposible. But not harder than we did it first try (:
But ill say you should do it 3-4 guys its kinda hard!

Found him at 40,48 he's soloable I did with my 67 priest.
Kite him to Wildhammer stronghold when i come there was ~10 guards on him then im die=) fast release spirit(graveyard is round the corner) and run to body, when i come he had about 70%hp and ~7 guard on him. used 1 mana potion and Shadowfiend then finish him.

Funny thing, I tried to solo him as he passed by and I was doing the teron gorefiend q to kill the draenei.. I had a spell that stole 5k hp and some others like a 1k shield and 900 dmg per 2.. but couldn' beat him because of the 20 sec cooldowns xD but worth trying :)

Wrong, this is soloable WITHOUT having to rely on guards to help you.

1) You need to be a Warlock
2) You need to have both Master Demonologist and Siphon Life talents(so pretty much 23/38 or 27/34 specs only)
3) You need your Felhunter
4) You need a lot of spell damage(1k+), some potions(makes it easier) and a good amount of HP
5) You need a pre-determined kite path that is already cleared of any mobs that will aggro you

I started off by clearing the vally between the entrance and the alter of shadows of the Enraged Air Spirits and a few of those crystal mining things right by the exit, had my Felhunter attack and opened with an Immolate, Searing Pain, then started dotting and running to the BE outpost(guards are for sissys dont use them, be a man!) in a straight line dotting as I am going and doing the occasional shadowbolt from shadowtrance.

The key when kiting is to always run straight and if you have minor speed on your boots(which you should anyways) there is a delay after he teleports and you will be out of range of his melee attack and his fear so he will do his laser beam thing but you will run out of range before it finishes and there will be a 3-5 seconds delay where it stops and before he teleports, use this time to make a small turn about 30 degrees or so and keep making them until you go in a circle. If you do a 180 or a 90 degree turn and he teleports to you then he will hit you in melee for about 1200 on cloth or possibly fear you then kill your pet causing him to leash back and you have to start over again.

Reason why this works:
Only pet classes can do this because of the whole leash thing for some reason when your pet attacks something but you have aggro mobs don't leash until your pet dies so as long as your above your pet on the aggro table he wont leash. So that leaves 2 classes who can do this, Hunters and Warlocks, Hunters are SoL because they can't easily get good resistance to his magic damage and have no viable way(potions are not enough) to heal himself and will run out of mana where Warlocks through Siphon Life and Lifetap can sustain themselves.

Another note is you do NOT want to use Soul Link as the fight is long enough and you take so much damage your pet will die and you cant stop to heal him. With 75 all resist(I'm a BE) most of his laser beam ticks would only do 3/4ths or half damage and I would run out of range after about 2-3 tics and Siphon Life is enough to keep me going thought my life taps and his damage.

Also having the PvP trinket to break fear if you do get hit by it is nice.

Now this strategy takes some time to get use to but once you got it down its actually an easy fun fight for a blue which at worst nets you a Large Prismatic Shard and the ability to say "I did it".

Duo'd with a 70 warrior (me) in pvp epics and a 68 resto druid in greens.

Druid never dipped below 50% mana and never used innervate, 215 mana regen while not casting.

The key as a warrior is to use a shield and spell reflect as soon as you can after the fear.

It usually goes like so:
1. Blink
2. Fear
3. Channelled spell

If you can, try to spell reflect directly after fear to reflect the ENTIRE channel. Otherwise pop it anyway as it reflects every tick after until reflect is up.

Took us about 5 mins max, got a mail +agi +stam helm.

We just killed him me been a protect worrior lvl 66, a 70 lock, 70 shaman and a 68 arms worrior i reflected most of the damage but nerly fell of the edge from his fear, mobs were pulled from fear but all was good we killed him then mobs a mail bandit droped i was hoping for plate with def bonus or stamina

I just killed this guy as a BM hunter w/ somewhat crap gear and he was not an elite, but was still rare. Dropped an Emerald Beholder Eye w/ Bandit suffix.

Maybe they abolished his elite status in 2.4. Someone else confirm this, please.

Edit: Took a look over the patch notes for 2.4, and he was included in the rare spawns that had their health points and damage significantly reduced. He's no longer an elite.

Alright, I don't know why everyone says this guy isn't soloable. I took him on very easily on my level 70 warlock. I'm felguard spec'd, which might help... but he's not like a super-tank or anything. All I had to do was send him in > Curse > Corruption > Immolate > Drain Life (about x3) and he was dead. My felguard didn't even go below half health...

He IS indeed soloable for a warlock. I'm just not sure about other classes.
Good drops though :)

This mob is a rare NOT an elite. Yes, he fears ALOT but is completely soloable. No group required. I just solo'd him with my 70 Holy Paladin with 3 other mobs on me. Popped Divine Shield and tossed up a couple heals and he burned down fast. If you're worried about the other mobs just clear the surrounding area, but wasn't required in my case.

this guy HAS to have been nerfed at some point in time. i ran into him while i was farming primal air near the alter of shadows.

i decided "what the hell!" and decided to try and solo him.

as a 0/21/40 shadow lock with the succubus sacced...i critted him 3 times for 5k, then my Lightning capacitator crit him for 1200.

yes, he died...and quickly

he only hit me for about 300 per swipe...but he only managed to attack me twice before death.

Solo'd him easily as a lvl 70 feral spec'd semi-t4 geared druid - 9k health, 4.8k armour, ~400dps.

I was happily farming motes and cobrascale when this guy popped up completely unexpectedly. I'd just finished killing a wind elemental and nethercobra and was at about 75% health. He lasered me, then feared and lasered me. I feral fairy fired him, repeated mangles, ferocious bite (x2) and he was dead in about 30-45 seconds. I ended up ~40% health. No pots, no trinkets.

I was too busy wondering where the hell he came from, trying to kill him, not attract any more mobs and not to fall off the edge of SMV to worry about how much health he started with, or what he was actually shooting at me but if other stories requiring a party of 5 are to be believed then either they are seriously under-geared, or this guy has been seriously nerfed with patch 2.4.

I will verify. This dude can NOT be solo'ed. I tried it first with a 69 lock and myself (66 feral druid). I found him Northeast of the Altar of Sha'tar (about 64.22) in Shadowmoon.

We got owned... at first.

Ok here's the deal.
He does crushing blows for 2-3k damage each. He fears, and he does a channeled random magic spell that hits 400-500 per tick.
Also, he will teleport right up next to a random person and blow the crap outta them.

So we did down him, but it took 5 people. We had the following:
66 Druid (Myself)
69 Lock
67 Hunter
68 Druid
69 Warrior
The warrior tanked, both druids healed, and the rest dps'ed. He has a ton of health as well so the fight takes a while amidst all the fears.
It was a fun fight and he dropped

Found him near Gorefiend, around 57,73. Tried to solo him first and got raped. Got a group together consisting of:

(with help with an alliance mage)
One drood tanked, the other healed, and me and the rogue DPS'ed. Not to difficult just dps him down and keep your tank up. Dropped Blue

Did this today on Boulderfist, really non-conventional group. 4 o'clock in the morning, pulled together 5 guys from the zone. 70 lock, 70 mage (me), 69 Pally, 70 pally, 69 mage. One pally tanked, other healed, then we all stole aggro and ping-ponged the bastard around until he died. Hard fight. He dropped a Plate helm with more Stam, Strength, and Def then the Bold set piece.

Just kited him from the Aldor town all the way to Shadowmoon village. Took me a few tries, and some luck. Had one other person with me to bite the fears when he teleports and fears. Very very fun kite -- definitly need at least one other with you incase of previously mentioned. The mind flays dont daze you out of cheetahand you can get out of range of them canceling it. You just have to keep running even when out of range cause if he teleports and your standin gg.

Yo this guy can without a doubt be tricky but our group took his ass down without hardly any trouble. the fight lasted all of about 20 seconds. our group was...

70 Paladin (holy spec)
70 warrior (prot spec, high level tanking gear)
70 mage (n00b)
70 shaman (melee dps)
70 warrior (full fury spec)

Obviously that is a powerful group no matter what but we just cleared out a small area and waited for him to pat up to us. the tank charged and took initial aggro as the fury warrior (me!) hit recklessness. the boss died by the time recklessness ran out cause of all the dps we had combined on him. he got 1 fear off (which of course i was immune to with reck up).

not too hard really, but you gotta be sure to clear the mobs first and wait for him, dont try to just do it in a semiclear area, you will get pwnd.

Downed with 70s: warrior, 2 rogues, and 2 warlocks. Warrior and one of the rogues almost died.

Immune to crowd control, slowing effects, interrupts.

Does Psychic Scream, random magic school channeling damaging spell (over about 5 seconds) which can be Spell Reflected by a warrior, and hits in between casts for who knows what but not painful.

Other thoughts.
Not sure if Grounding Totem will work here. Would be nice if it did.
He patrols the area infested by bunch of mobs. If you do not clear you will most likely get an add. Be ready for this.
Not immune to rogue poisons. At least some of them :o)

Two Warlocks.

Had Felguard tank for 10 seconds and then just took off DoT'ing him as he followed me. I was infront, he was behind. Everytime I got feared, it went back to him 'til fear broke so he didn't beat the $%^& out of me. Kited him aways 'til he dropped combat with me and went back for my friend, whose Felguard had been gaining a lot of aggro. He was down to about 15% by the time I dropped combat from him, so I turned about and we just nuked the hell out of him.

He dropped some of the most useless yet loot, plate head with 39 spirit/agility.

Some extra info:

He fears every 45 seconds or so. When he fears, he will teleport to the highest aggro player that was not feared...so if you keep your tank immune to fear *cough Fear Ward cough*, it's a basic tank & spank.

Without Fear Ward though...

• Rogues can use Cloak of Shadows to clear his DoT (haven't tried a Pally Cleanse yet though).
• If you manage aggro just right, you can get him to bounce his DoT between two players, effectively halving its damage and making the fight a bit easier.
• If you keep everyone close in on him (think Lava Surgers in MC), his teleport is useless to him since he just stays in the same spot.
• As has been mentioned in this thread before, Shield Reflect is *very* useful on this fight.

We cleared a spot in his path, waited, and bagged him.

He dropped a plate helm, I agreed to roll greed and pay the winner well. Gilofante rolled Need and left the group, flew off, put us all on ignore.

Morale of the story is, next time Gilofante needs help he better hope we're not online. So what, he has a helm he can flog on the AH for some temporary gold, what a loser.

very hard fight i tryed with a 67 warr,70 mage and 70 priest we got owned hard time the thing is warrs can spell reflect the beam and he takes his own dmg but that's not much we got him to 66% but he feared me to the wildhammer stronghold and the dwarfs took care of me,this is a 4-5 men fight

I'm a lvl 70... saw him around 36, 44 @ 5:30 a.m. I was trying out my new talents and what not killing fel boars and happened to come across this guy. I couldn't put a group together this late/early so I tried kiting.... got owned a couple of times. He does blinks, life drain, some melee attack that will hit a clothie for 2400+ noncrit. Luckily, since I'm a mage I was able to kite him using blink. Kited him to the stronghold and let the guards take him down.

Encounter: Get at max range and do frostbolt or fireball. He does not get affected by frostbolt but he's a pretty slow guy so it doesn't matter. Once he starts chasing you... just keep on running. He will blink and start life draining.... blink right after he blinks so that he cannot melee you.... pretty much it... his life drain will tick for about 450 or so for a couple of seconds while you're in range.

I kinda got scared from the posts here, so I got another Facemelter with me and invited our resto druid to the group.

Don't know if people will get pissed if I say this, but he was pretty easy for us 3.

Basically the way:
- 2 Shadow Priests & 1 Healer (in this case a druid)
1. Buff & Fear Ward up as well
2. DoT him up and Mind Blast/Flay away (always keep ur DoTs up)
3. Grab a beer and DPS, use pvp trinket on 2nd fear, if you even get a 2nd fear.

Didn't take us more than a minute at all.

As mention several times above, this dude hits damn hard. I (69 warlock) and my mate (70 hunter) gave it a shot, but got raped instantly. I got him down to 65% though :)

damn, this guy is crazy... found him just a few minutes ago, after watching a level 70 epiced out troll hunter trying to kite him back to the horde town.

i thought he wouldn't be able to hit me as hard as he did the hunter, being a holy pally, with 11k armor, hehe.

well took three attempts but with exorcism and holy shock i got him back to the first few guards. he pulled them out far from the town. and started to chew through the first 70 elite, i thought he was gonna murder them(and he did) so i ran back and dropped a ton of damage on him(as much as i could being holy)
he started chasing me back into town, where he pulled about 9 of the infernal defenders and two more 70 elite guards.

the fight went on for what seemed forever, then i noticed he was on the last 70 elite guard! i though "@#$%e!" he was at 9% and the guard was at 3%.

Guard down! then he starts chewing the non elites, and im hitting him with hamer of wrath every 6 seconds, and exorcism every 15.

then boom he was down, and all i got was this lousy T-shirt....

and a PoS leather head piece of the wolf.

Do not try to kite this guy to Sanctum of the Stars,
the guards will not aggro him -_-'
Tried to solo him first (I'm a bm hunter with t5 (2) set bonus)
, he always managed to crit my pet when he was around 50% or so and when I was about to ress my pet he feared and ass-raped me. Then I came up with this great idea of kiting, on the first try a god damn air elemental aggroed me and I died. Second try I managed to get him all the way down to Scryers place, he was around 60% hp by that time, was really nice to notice that guards didn't give a $%^&.

what's funny is that he was patrolling netherwing pass today, and in the pass there was this farmbot hunter farming air elementals. So being a bot, he aggroed the Collidus over and over again.

I saw him dying on 3 occasions while I was questing Gorefiend's line, god knows how many times he died there :D

Duo'ed this guy. 70 lock and 70 druid. Druid tanked and healed himself, while I (lock ftw) dpsed him to death. When the drood died, he used his SS, healed to full while my VW tanked. My VW almost died so I sacrificed, and held him till the drood got about 75% mana and full hp and resumed tanking. I resummoned my pet and we continued till he was down. He has 95k hp, and drops nice blue items that are worth the 5 min it takes to kill him.
update: I went onto my rogues realm (doomhammer) and kited him to the infernal defenders. His tendency to psychic scream aggroed many of them, but sadly he still was focused on me...In three hits he chewed up my 9k hp and I cheated death and sprinted/evasioned/bandaged. At this point he aggroed a 70 elite guard. but beware....he eats them too...You'll need atleast three 70 elites and 10 non elites if you want to successfully kill him. I did manage to kill him. 90 stam helm..AH.....High economy server ftw :D

This dude can be done with pretty good geared resto drood and a elemental shaman.
We did it last day and he dropped the cloth head +66 spirit.
i used it for DE wich is more worth it.
As the shaman make sure you use tremor totem to prevent fear.

Just 2 Maned him, 70 BM hunter and 70 Holy Paly (Me) Had the pet hold aggro the whole fight, i healed and Hunter DPS'd, took a while and had some aliance audience but we got him down first try.

killed him today with a party of 4. I was tanking on my pally, greens/blues, fury warrior and a lock. Looked at the combat log afterwards to see if i should have used an aura. I was hit by arcane fire and shadow dmg throughout the fight, so i wouldn't bother with an aura if you are a pally. Small bit of info i know, but hopefully it might help someone. He dropped lvl 68 plate helm,stam,int and mana.

downed tonight with me healing (all kara and za epic) and melee shammy also full kara. piece of cake just spam FoL and hit all cd trinkets. shammy kept aggro and i never took damage (well aside from the chimera that decided i looked like dinner)

Was nice to go to my farm spot and find this guy waiting for me, never even heard of him.

Attacked him without thinking twice, also had a Netherskate on me but just ran till I lost aggro. Not sure why everyone is grouping up to kill this guy, I soloed him no problem, 70 afflic lock, and my gear isn't even that spectacular. He did hit pretty hard at times but I was able to just DoT him up and tank with life drain.

Dropped the +Nature dmg one, might get about as much as I would have for one of the primals I was there to farm anyway.

Actually i just solo'd him and got a of the physician head piece.
I do believe I got lucky.
I tried fearing him as a lock.
He resisted so I ran for my life and dotted while running to wildhammer stronghold.
He surprisingly barely hurt me, and the guards owned him.
Easy Peasy.

Im not to sure what all the fuss is about not being able to solo this guy, I did it with no problems on my 70 hunter, with only a couple peices of gladiator gear. Maybe he had less HP on my server than others, not real sure, but i can say honestly, im not a super good player or anything, I'd bareley call myself decent, but I solo'd with no issues, even had one other mob come for me that I stuck in a freeze trap. Anyhow, that's just my thoughts on it, judging from all the "cant solo" posts, I would say that maybe this guy just had less HP than the others though.

cannot be soloed? he totally can, i was grinding motes of air and this guy showed up, I had been there a couple of hours and not seen him so realised it was a bit special. then spotted the silver dragon round his name.

I'm a Lvl 70 hunter, I did what i always did, sent the pet in, (lvl 70 wolf) steadyshot rotation, got feared, took him down after that, no adds. all while also dealing with a Scorchshell pincer and a Shadow serpent that got drawn to us during the fear.

Both me and the pet lived, no problem at all, and I'm fairly sure he was no marked as an elite. Dropped the plate helm Crimson Beholder eye of agility for me. what damn use is +60 agility to a plate user? what a waste.

Yea it may have been nerfed. A lot of rares may have been. I remember the rare worm in hellfire being very tough. I was flying thru to do the fishing quest and seen it a few weeks ago. Gave it a shot and just wtf pooned it. I know my gear did not improve THAT much from when it took me and 2 others to down him 6 months ago.

Anyway I just soloed this cat on my rogue. I went into the fight thinking it would be tough. Aside from the fears being anoying it was cake.

Raped him as a 69 pally. Definitely wasn't hard. Was near slag watch popping off felboars and this guy floats by. I mana up and hop on him. Has around 20-25k health, and is a joke now. Feared me a couple times but I didn't pull anything; his melee isn't more than 500 a hit now and his tick damage doesn't hit for more than 200.

Before you call someone a liar you should read patch notes.

Prior to patch 2.4 Collidus would have spanked anyone solo. Immune to CC, feared constantly, did decent damage, about the difficulty of a boss at the Mana Tombs/Auchenai Crypts level.

From patch 2.4: The following creatures have had their hit points and damage significantly reduced: Collidus the Warp-Watcher, Fulgorge, Hemathion, Kraator, Marticar, Morcrush, and Nuramoc

Having killed this rare multiple times on several 70s in epic gear both pre and post 2.4, I speak from experience not a knee jerk reaction based on a single encounter post 2.4.

In short, don't flame unless you're fireproof. Noob.

How come people don't read the comments that matter? As said, the comments that say he's not soloable was when he actually hitted for a few thousand and was immune to any CC/slowing and feared every 10-15 seconds or so.

Just to bust the ego's down of the people saying "OMG you all suck! I solo'ed him!" - Well, good for you, that's like being proud of solo'ing hogger at lower level.

We managed to do this with a holy paladin and an affliction lock (drain tank ftw?), so he's possible to duo i guess :)

I did it a little while ago, i just did my 4 dots, and drained him, when he feared he'd go after the pali who would heal through it or bubble/blessing of protection, and i'd just come back re-apply the dots, and begin draining, he had about 80k and it was a pretty close fight

Just wanted to say that it is not shadow dmg, it is infact random dmg from any school during the time the beam is up. Also tried the shadow reflector, it did not work. They probably changed his dmg type or something like that (this was tested and confirmed 1/2 -07)

just killed him with me(hunter) another hunter and a feral druid.
me with a lvl 13 boar as pet, druid tanked until he died (collidus at ~30%)
the other hunters boar offtanked till ~5% and we managed to shoot him down.

crap loot though, the cloth head of arcane wrath...

all in all not such a hard fight, but a fun one.

Soloed this guy today with my lock. Stuck my voidwalker on him and DPS'd him down in about 15 sec. He used his 'Red Eye' beams on my vw and never turned to me.

Blizz musta changed this guy 'cause I just solo'ed without taking a single point of damage with a lvl 70 frost mage. Each FB seemed to do around 15-20% of his HP. I guess he isn't very elite anymore. ;-)

Did this with shadow priest (me, no Fear Ward), protection warrior and fury warrior. Works ok with zerker rage to break fear and Spell Reflect to do huge damage on Collidus. Got a +90 Stamina mail BoE for our troubles.

Lol, well saw this guy wandering around for the first time when I was farming motes, so I figured a 68 elite might be soloable.... Bad mistake, should have checked in here first! As feral druid I tried a couple of times but if this fella is soloable, then so is Lady Vashj ;)

You need 2 warriors for this guy or 2 priests to constantly keep fear ward up. he fears every 20 or so seconds. Has a channeled beam that does 400 shadow damage a second for 15 seconds. He's immune to all crowd control and silencing effects, however, Spell Reflection will bounce his beam back at him during the duration it's up causing massive amounts of damage to himself. He also melees fairly hard hitting plate for around 800.

Has BLizz nerfed him badly now?
Just solo'd him with my 67 prot pala, gulped one mana pot and bubbled once before he went down.

His melee's hit me for around 120-150, along with the beams that did 50-70.
Anyway, got the Mail helmet of the bandit of him.

Did it with Druid tank (me), hunter, and resto shaman, all 70.

Grounding totem for the fear, straight fight. Very basic, took a little while, but healer had over half mana left. Not as hard as people seem to be making it out, but certianly not the push-over silver elites are in the old world.
