They suddonly turned friendly for me to, today. I ran Gruul's Lair for the first time last night, wonder if that has anything to do with it. I havn't changed status with any factions in the past couple weeks.

They are friendly to me sometimes too. but i´ve come to the conclussion that its just another bug. it has nothing to do with Gruul and/or Netherwing. Just another random bug.

Yep, they perform Apexis Mob Faction Check and then turn friendly to the player. Have no idea why though.

There are four spawn points: two in the northern half of the sub-zone and two in the southern half. At each of them you'll find six Analyzers.

If you haven't done https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=11058 and its follow-up quest yet, you can do it while grinding the analyzers for the engineering schematic.

FWIW the plans dropped for me after exactly 24 kills.

Thought I should add, but you are only able to get to them if you have a flying mount, its a pretty obvious thing, but the question is sure to come up eventually.

In 2.4.1, oddly enough, they show up as "Simon Unit" in the new combat log.

The drop rate is far higher then 0.3%.
1) Only an engi can see it drop
2) This is newly added
The Wowhead drop calculator will show drop rate of every kill.

I would guess around 3-5% :)

I went to this mob really upset expecting a huge grind... Killed 1 mob. Engineering recipe dropped and a green. I almost exploded.

I got mine off of somewhere between 75th and 100th guy. I can't say for certain, but based on my estimations of food usage it was somewhere around there.

Luckily I got my schematic on the 7th kill. Another thing about these mobs is that they drop Apexis shards and Marks of Sargeras.

Seems to me that the game checks your professions before showing or not showing this as loot.

Expecting the drop rate to be much much higher than posted, only all the non-Engineers are not able to see the Schematic.

Same here. They weren't yesterday, when I did my dailys. As far as I know, I haven't increased to a new rep level with anyone else, or done any new quests or anything. But they didn't bother me one bit while doing the Relic's Emanations, and I couldn't attack them.

Same here. I'm grinding on Flayers and kill these guys once in a while. I just went to kill some more and suddenly they're green to me. I have no idea what would have changed in the last 20 minutes since the last time I killed one.

i just killed 1, did the Emanation thing and when i go close they become friendly. im pretty sure its the 'Relic's emanation' quest

What I find weird is that some are friendly and some aren't -- on the same relic. Not sure what's going on with that.

Got the schematic for the Field Repair bot 110G after about the 20th kill. I got the Adamantite arrow maker on the second kill, and the Khorium scope off the first kill. Not bad luck at all xD

Confirmed Field Repair Bot 110G drops from Gan'arg Analzer's in the Blade Edge Mountains.

360 Engieering required to make
325 required to use.

Create a macro that says

/target gan'arg analyzer

and bind it to a hotkey. While flying in the far eastern valley of Blade's Edge Mountains (immediately North, East and South of Ogri'la), press the hotkey until one is targeted. Land, kill, and grab the schematic. The drop rate seems high.

Was about to do the daily quest and killed one of these mobs before and the Schematic dropped on my 1st kill :) Very lucky.

Chapter One: I killed an entire camp of the Analyzers
Chapter Two: I killed an entire camp of the Analyzers
Chapter Three: I killed an entire camp of the Analyzers
Chapter Four: I killed an entire camp of the Analyzers

The book goes on for a couple more chapters...still no schematic, killed 35+ still nothing. Fly from camp to camp to camp, flying back and forth from about three of them will get you constant kills of these guys, but all I got were a ton of greenies, shards, marks, gold and other neat things that I would gladly trade for the damn schematic. BoP though, so grind ur heart out.

I only killed one full camp of Gan'arg Analyzers just south of Forge Camp: Wrath and on the last one I got the plans for the bot. I'm certain this was pure luck, however, one might want to try said camp to be certain.

Can confirm these posts- 33.4 - 51.7 Gan'arg Analyzers congregate in little groups of 5-6 around a hovering crystal structure located here. Got mine off my second kill- and yes, I did solo it as a holy priest who just made 70 today and have crumby gear. See photo of Structure for reference above and GL, engineers.

it took me like 150 kills, finally it dropped. its really usefull in raids, no more repair breakes or something.
but when i first saw it in karazhan with my mate i thought´´i really need that, i am going to get it´´
but when i realised it had low drop rate i didnt know what to do

I'm a 65 Warrior and I paid a Warlock to summon me to the location and help fight with me. We got it on the first kill. Now to lvl up my engineering. :)

I got the drop on the 38th kill a few weeks ago, and today i helps a buddy get it, and it dropped on the 8th kill. It's all about luck sometimes LOL

Using my mount I landed on 32 63 there were about 6-8 guys in the same spot I after the 6th kill it dropped.

When flying there look out for the flying dragons lvl 72

By the way, If you are a rogue, don't forget to pickpocket these guys. Took me around 50 kills, got 9 strong junkboxes too :)

got after 22 kills.. over by the orgilla area.. look for the patterns in the crystals.. there are 6 per pad.. the center two usually pull together.. the rest are singles.. save the shards and depleted.. gotta go see what they are good for better bot. also sells reagents for raids in blades edge

Yes, these are the mobs who drop Schematic: Field Repair Bot 110G. They spawn around some circular crystal formations in Ogri'la ( the one that are part of the Simon Says style daily quest ).

27, 68 in blades edge is the location of these mobs, you'll need a flyer to reach them.

I used the unitscan addon to see if this would work. i kept getting a scan hit for "Simon Unit" at the North western camp. Even when all the Gan'arg Analyzer were killed and you did a /reload, unitscan would still disocover a "Simon Unit" but you couldn't target what it was scanning. idk if its related but on the 2nd clearing of that camp the Schematic dropped. Schematic: Field Repair Bot 110G

Maybe unitscan can detect which camp it'll spawn at, or maybe unitscan just scans a untargetable item listed as "Simon unit" at that camp.
*Edit - Went back to that camp and now unit scan isn't hitting anything. maybe it CAN predict the spawn location.

What's up with their spawn timer? I feel like they spawn inconsistently flew around 2 circles and all 4 spots are empty, sure I kill them pretty fast but they just spawned fine a minute ago anyone else experienced that?

I had this recipe drop after around 20 kills, biggest issue was waiting for the respawns.

I am an Engineer, but only 355 skill when it dropped.
