Spawns 2 58 nether-stalkers, then he himself (lvl 69) turns hostile. Quite easy though.

You actually need to go to 60 30 to speak to him and kill him not the place where you speak to his image.

Stealthed and followed him. The adds wouldn't come close so I just chopped him down.

This is soloable by a warrior. I just feared his adds with Intimidating shout and pounded him till he died. Had to kill his adds afterwards though.

I just did this quest and he didn't spawn any adds... Just him.

Well as of right now the thing about his pets not aggroing isn't true - I'm 70 and I was careful to be standing right on top of him and his guys attacked me anyways. And they hit pretty hard, and rapidly. I barely won the fight, though I probably would have had an easier time if I hadn't been surprised. He isn't especially tough, but between the three of them they can be a bit of a challenge.

Watch your back.

Pulled him with my gun (as a rogue), and killed him. He didn't spawn any adds at all.

Made it as a holy paladin lvl 70. Quite eeeze mod, kill Marid and then run away. Piece of cake ;D

I don't get this quest.... you kill a member of the Consortium... and he respawns as friendly instanly at his original position.

Oh well.

Just did it and only one guard spawned for me, making it super easy.. maybe a recent change?

They nerfed this quest. Did it barely 5 mins ago on 2.3 and I got NO guards.

what i did was just go behind, and kill, as a 69druid, i didn't aggro the guards.

I just stood behind him against the rock formations and didn't aggro the guards at all, he was easy alone

did this as a 69 arms warrior

It should be noted that after you open the dialog with him, he will lead you to the fringes of the watch post to speak with you 'privately'. If you stay close to him you can run past him and up against or even behind the rocks he stands in front of, as previously suggested, to stay out of the range of his guards. He turns hostile quickly, but does not actually attack you for some time (longer than I gave him).

I did this at 69, stood between him and the rock and didn't aggro the 2 guards. Real easy fight.

Coords are incorect the right ones are 58.31
he asks you to follow him and that's what you should do, 2 adds will spawn and help him out. Easy.

Did this at Friendly with Consortium, so I think it doesn't affect your reputation with them at all.

You wont aggro the adds as long as you stand close enough to Marid, try to stand north of him is possible, or just fly over him while waiting for him to go hostile.

Co ords are perfect (59.31)however I don't see why anyone had ANY problems with this, it walked behind everyone stoped miles from everyone and I attacked, no spawns nothing just a very easy kill for 11 gold 99 silver

I thought for sure my consortium rep would go down.
It didn't.
It may go down if you are like lower than honored though.
Not sure, I was revered when I did this quest.

Speak with Wind Trader Marid and lure him away from his trading post. Deal with him and then return to Tyri and Jorad on the Celestial Ridge.

Your former employer, Wind Trader Marid, must've gotten wind that you're helping us now. Through my projection, I've seen his nether-stalkers entering the area, hoping to track us down.

We've been able evade them so far, but Marid must be dealt with before the problem grows more severe.

If your impressions of Marid are correct, he'll do just about anything to secure the supply of his product. Return to him and tell him you're prepared to offer a deal. Lure him away and slay him.
