After you get the key and use the Console, don't leave yet. You have to stick around for it to complete, while killing Sunfury Technicians (non-elite, only about 2000 HP, one at a time). Just don't let them repair it or you won't get quest credit.

The shutdown takes 2 minutes. During the 2 minutes the technicians will spawn and try to fix it. Kill them to prevent any repairs.

Overseer Theredis is at 23,70 (South room inside the building).
Walk back inside and use the item he dropped on the machine.
Before doing so you should kill all the blood elves inside.
When you do it, blood elves will try to repiar it, kill them to stop them.

This is an extremely easy quest, easily soloable by any class..

Tip: Clear the Sunfury Warp-Engineers before you begin the shutdown, just makes your life a bit easier.

69 warrior - Make sure to clear aroudn the access panel on both sides before starting, it helps a lot

This quest isn't too hard but if you are having troubles with it there is a trick that will make it slightly easier.

1. Be sure to clear the room before you activate the panel.
2. A Sunfury Technician will run in to stop the shut down - LET HIM!
3. Once the Technician has completed stopping the shut down start it again. The first Technician that stopped the shut down will remain standing there but he will not attack you unless you strike first. LEAVE HIM ALONE.

No more technicians will spawn while the first one is still standing there (takes them about a minute to despawn). Once the next one spawns be sure to kill him. This trick only works for the first 60 seconds of the shut down.

Too easy.. Easy gold ;-) btw.. i was expecting 5-10 technicians respawn but only 1 respawned every minute.

Don't forget to clear the room, it aggros almost everything in the area.

We failed on first attempt as we got in total 12 mobs, coming in 3 waves short after another as soon we started the shutdown. That was a bit too much for 2 priests. We survived after the shutdown failed, as the mobs still alive despawned.
After reading your comment we wanted to give it another try and kite the guys. But when we restarted the event , we only got 3x a single easy mob. Maybe the large groups of mobs were still not respawned.

Too many mobs? Kite til you fail and they despawn, then try again.

it was easy i killed them like 5-10 secs b4 next wave but then the was respawn warp-enginer and warp master then it become little harder and more fun to ;)

I'd confirm the need to clear all the warp-engineers in the room - they will all agro and to top it off then run away in fear which can make the quest significantly harder if they make it outside and agro yet more!

Not sure what I did differently, but when I activated the console I had a warp engineer and a couple of the other regular mobs aggro besides the technician. Luckily, my earth elemental's CD was down. He managed to last the entire which made my life a lot easier.

This can be an easy quest.

1) Clear the room of all mobs before initiating shutdown.

2) Once you iniate the shudown procedure a sunfury technician will try to
stop it. Only one will come at a time. They come from ethier the left or
the right. All you have to do is keep killing the technicians until the
shudtown is complete. More mobs may respawn but they will not interfer
unless drawn by a technician running by.

3) Once shutdown is complete turn it in along with the crystal.

Good idea to clear the room before shutdown. When i started emergency shutdown, alot of mobs came to abort the shutdown! ^^

The Coords are 23, 69. And keep an eye out for the mobs that keep coming to try and stop you. This is the Aldor side of the quest, as the NPC is an Aldor. She's in the inn.

Today I went to do this quest on my 69 Rogue. Had no problems finding and killing the overseer until i came back outside to start clearing and the room was already cleared. I had noticed earlier that a 70 Warlock and a 68 Paladin were AE Grinding the area outside; Now the pair had taken care of my clear process for me. I had felt that since I got lucky so far questing in Netherstorm without Alliance problems, but this would be different. As soon as I started the sequence they stopped resting and started looking for me. When the first tech came I had to do something (After just prep vansihing off the lock) so I sapped it. They stood waiting for me to attack it again but then the next one came so I figured if I sap it at least it may stop. It did indeed stop but the one I sapped originally just stood there. So I contuned the process with the next two on the right side and the shut down completed RIGHT as I got pulled out of stealth by the lock, blind Cloak of Shadow and since vanish was down just plain run till I cleared combat.

If you wanted to skip the story, the bottom line is that they will stop deactivating the shut down if you use Imp. Sap on them. Then they will just eventually fade out.

okay listen noobs for all of you retards arguing over if its aldor or scryers let me prove you a point.

I am a Scryer.

It increased my Scryer rep.

If you are ALDOR it will increase your ALDOR rep. *shakes head*

The only difference is difference in NPC's who give the quest. The quest name remains the same and is available to BOTH factions. Now please stop spamming the boards with your aldor-scryer wars.

to those who said it gives scryer's rep, either u were sleepy or need to watch closely,it gives Aldor rep,not scryer,and yeh u need to clear all the room inside manaforge,overseer theredis is in the other room,u will see him patrolling

OK, as everyone has spent so long *!@#$ing, all the useful info is well down the bottom. So, for those who actually want to know where he is, he is in the manaforge, in the northern part. Mind out eating after you've killed him, he respawns fast...as I found out! Also, when shutting the crystal down, look out for the technicians that come and stop it, I couldnt figure out for a while why it wasnt shutting down.

Even after you clear the room the shut down takes 3 minutes and during that time additional mobs spawn.

As of this date the quest appears to be glitched. Killed a bunch of random engineer adds nearby in advance then triggered the shutdown. Several additional engineers showed up and I killed them. Waited for the two-minute timer but it ran out and the forge didn't shut down. The next time the shutdown process failed long before the two-minute timer. The third time the same thing happened and an attack of the sheer boredom bug drove me away. I remember doing this the first time around and it was fun. Not sure what's wrong now. Kind of disappointing since it's pretty hard to do the other quests in the chain without completing this one. : - (

Shutting Down Manaforge B'naar

Return to Manaforge B'naar and obtain the B'naar Access Crystal from Overseer Theredis. Use it at the Manaforge B'naar console to shut it down and report back to Anchorite Karja.

Performing quests for the Aldor will cause your Scryers reputation level to decrease.

We cannot shut down the manaforges by force as we'd risk causing an explosion that would shake Outland to the core.

According to your transcription, there is an emergency shutdown that permanently disables the technology - a safety mechanism common in naaru constructs.

To perform this procedure you will have to obtain a crystal that will allow you to communicate with the console. This access crystal is in the possession of an overseer called Theredis according to our information.
