The only timed quest in Outlands. This quest can also join the ranks of other quests that are titled or use items that relate to the real world. I'm surprised they didn't add "With the Fel Reaver Control Console, if you aren't out of control, you aren't in control" in the Description.

If you're a warlock and are having trouble taking the control, try dismissing your pet, that worked for me, and the other warlock i did it with :)

Very fun quest! You must dismiss your pet if you are a hunter or warlock.

This quest gives you a felreaver to control as your pet! It is very fun, but you can get agro on yourself and you may die. If you do just run back and use the transporter and you can get back to your body

After accepting the Q, walk down the slope and you will see 3 Fel reaver control consoles. Click on 1 of them to control a Fel reaver then use the first ability after the attack key to destroy the elementals. Remember that you have to destroy 60 of them and return in 5 mins, not just killing 60 of them in 5 mins. I killed 60 of them in 4 minutes, but then i played around with the fel reaver and failed the Q :(

Holy !@&# this quest was awesome.

The only thing that bugged me at first was that I could hardly see where I was going because the reaver was so huge. This could easily be solved by the addon Improved Camera, which lets you zoom out to 50 meters instead of the usual 30, making your reaver appear the same size as your usual character.

Also, I had run out of infernals to destroy for a few seconds until I had figured out that you need to run up the stairs on the far side of the area.

if u failed quest and mobs attacking you just run west and fall down a bit. Mobs wouldn't follow and you would be able to fly back to consoles.

You can run the felreaver across the whole invasion point to the opposite faction's station and kill their questgivers and guards. >=]

Just tried this quest as of 5/22/07 (After patch 2.1), dunno if I'm bugged or the quest. I can see all my pet actions except the destroy infernals one. (Which is ctrl-4, I have ctrl5-6 but no 4).

Since this quest is impossible to complete, and seeing as how it is the second to last part of several long chains, the chains are pretty worthless due to the fact that the rewards in the next quest are impossible to obtain due to this bug.

Only reason to do these questlines are for XP/crappy gold.

Not sure if this happened before but while your fighting u have to keep an eye on your guy because they will run up and attack you.

I died after 40, ran back and was almost able to complete it but they killed me again! before i could return it although i got the 60.

You can run right up into the teleporter on your mount w/o fighting. So if you die, res and hurry back.

As a lock I used Demon Skin instead to raise my armor.

Well this annoyed me to no end, but the quest is fun as hell. Died once, failed twice. Cant make the bugger run faster than cold molasses. Timed out on the second run for me, but I got all 60 kills. Blizzard should giv some leeway. But then again it can be done.

This quest is an obvious tribute to the movie "The Fast and the Furious".
But besides it's name I've noticed some more connections with the movie.

The movie, as we all know, is about people driving fast and powerful cars. During the quest players also "drive" (gain control, literally) a powerful Fel Reaver Sentinel unit and it's sprint-like ability makes it fast as well.

Fel Reaver Sentinel as every other Fel Reaver have exhaust pipes so we can assume that it has internal-combustion engine just like most modern cars we see in the movie.

Every internal-combustion engine utilizes some kind of fuel but again Fel Reavers are so big that using gasoline would be damn too expensive and most likely they use a diesel oil (probably some fel-version of it) which gives us connection with the main star of the movie Vin Diesel.

And even though all those things I've said can be just speculations there is at least one unarguable connection - both protagonists of the Q and the movie - Fel Reaver Sentinel and Vin's character - are totally bald!

Useful tip for Warlocks (or have a Warlock mate): Soulstone yourself before starting this quest. That way, if you die, you can save a longish run from the graveyard and easily finish the quest in time. Remember to continue up the stairs too for more Infernals!

The fel reaver sentinel which you're controlling has 4 abilities, besides the usual Attack command (sorry I forgot their names):

1. Launches a salvo of missiles that destroy multiple infernals. No target required. From what I remember, this is the only ability to destroy infernals.
2. Fires something which resembles a railgun on the chosen target. Also damages anything between you and the target.
3. AOE stun that does great damage. Great for killing trash mobs.
4. Speed boost.

Tip: Run around the area quickly, and use the first ability as often as you could while you're among a bunch of infernals. When there are too many mobs on you, use the AOE stun then use railgun on the furtherest mob for maximum effect.

Sometimes mobs will go directly after you and you lose control of the fel reaver. RUN. Run towards the questgiver and the guards will take one or two off you, but you have to fight the rest. Pray none of them are elites. After killing the mobs you may continue with the quest.

If you do get aggro - and you will - run up the hill and into the teleporter, that will wipe aggro - then just teleport back and go again.
Rinse and repeat until you killed all 60.

For the love of god don't do this quest if you see someone else doing it.This level 70 guy (I was 69 and going for the final xp i needed for 70) came along and started doing this when I was halfway through and killed a load of my Infernals,so I had to wait for them to respawn.If he had f***ing waited it would have saved us both a lot of trouble.

You will be attacked by random dudes from the camp while this happens. Once the doctor you kill earlier was beating on me (along with a couple little demon friends), once just a couple little demons, and once one of the big patrolling elites with a bunch of friends was beating on me... almost died on that one. Definitely want to start this thing up fully healed. I think the attacks happen when you go out of range or when the reaver dies. At least that's when they happened for me.

As of 2.4 this quest is bugged. It freezes your comp ._. nevermind, I just happened to be unlucky and got bugged. I asked a GM out for help. Its all good.

Just to be clear, the only way to run back if you die that I could find is to go behind the horde camp over the mountains. Going toward Terokkar or Coilskar Point will not get you there (I tried).

I made it on my third try, this is what I did: I took the control to the left, then when I got my Fel Reaver I started crearing the mobs closest to the doctor so no one would aggro me. It worked great. I could control my FR and kill enough dudes and still go over and attack the alliance guard. However, I could not find their quest giver and kill him =/
And if you drop of the invasion point down towards Coilscar you lose control of your FR.

Quest is not bugged and definately works, however on my first attempt I killed 58 of 60..oh well, off to my second attempt !

2nd Attempt was much better...Trick as mentioned below, is when you get removed from the Reaver Machine, and the mobs attack is to run up the hill behind you, the mobs will be attacked by the guards, and you will have a chance to take a pot, and or bandage yourself, enough so as you can continue on killing until you gather your 60 kills..goodluck!

Same problem. I reported it to a GM and they said it's a known problem that they hope to fix with the next patch.
At least it's not just us doing it wrong :)

you don't target them, the missles kill em when facing them, use stun and run fast to get away from adds, if need to run up hill and if need into teleporter then back, plaenty of time to kill 60

They were like ants trying to bring me down. Even the elites couldn't stop the reaver.

As near as I can tell, only alliance can complete this quest. The horde reavers dont have the infernal killing ability.

If you are a Hunter (and probably Warlock) you must dismiss your pet to use the consols. The reaver acts as a pet and you can not control two at once.

The reaver will have have 3-4 abilites. A stun and damge for all the guards and mechanics in the area, a fast run for a few seconds and finally a Destroy Deathforged Infernals ability.

Move into an area with as many infernals as you can. Activate the Destroy Infernals ability and you kill several at a time. The immediate area does not seem to have quite 60 in it. However, up the steps a short distance away are tons more. This is where the fast run ability helps to get over there and knock out some there.

I found some of the repair guys and maybe a guard will wise up that someone is at the controls and come attack your character which breaks control you have on the Reaver. Be ready with an escape, vanish, feign death, what ever. Someone said you can run back up the hill to break combat. Do what you can to keep from dieing.

Grab control of another Reaver and continue killing to you have 60 total. I found useing the first Reaver to run up the steps, kills as many there as possible then on the second or third reaver (assuming you are attacked and your control is broken) kill the ones closer.

Once you have the 60 kills you must get back up the hill to the quest giver before the 4 minute timer runs out. Just killing them does not complete the quest. Get your 60 kills, right click on the Fel Reaver control spell to abandon control, back in you main character, run up the hill to the quest giver, hes now a yellow dot, turn in quest .. again .. befor the 4 minute timer runs out ... done.

I had to do this 5-6 times to finally get it right but its not too bad and kinda fun. If you fail, just abandon the quest and get it again.

I managed to FD as necessay to keep from dieing and did a quick bandage between reavers just in case. I also have flight so I didn't have to use the teleporter so I'm not sure what you do without flight or if you die. Some others have commented on that.

Figured out this is best with 2 people, so you are running 2 controls.

sometimes your "pet" wares off, or NPC's are hitting your charecter.. run through the portal to Legion Hold, run back in and get back up.. Take a new control and go.

If you are a druid this quest is cake. Go to the controls and stay in flight form
use them and it will keep you in flight form, just go kill away and when it kicks you back to yourself with people attacking simply fly up a little until you leave combat, rinse, repeat quest is CAKE. Did it first shot, and after reading some of the other posts was afraid it was gunna be a hard quest...

I tried everything, i was able to take control of the reavers. But only 3 things showed up, Sonic Boom, World Destroyer, and Turbo boost. None of which did anything to the solid elementals.

I went and disabled addons, dismissed pet then relogged..... etc and still nothing.

Quest is bugged for horde as of June 1st 2007, no destroy infernal button on the hotbar.

Make sure to dismiss your pet as the Fel Reavers need to take up that pet slot.

ok i thought this was hard to figure out to do.

1. Accept the quest.
2. Go about 10 feet down the hill from where you got the quest.
3. Right click any machine.
4. Use your AoE with your "Pet" and kill the stone looking things.
5. If you get hit and knocked off your pet, then run up to the quest giver and you should be out of combat. then go back to killing.

Hope this helps.

Oh and the stuff you need to kill are at (27,20)-ish around there

If you can't see your pet bar use control-4. It is on a cooldown, so position the reaver near many elementals at a time.

I was a little befuddled on this quest at first (not unusual <g>). All the aggro killed my first reaver then I got swarmed up by the consoles when I tried to activate another...so ran up the hill and let the guards handle it...then abandoned the quest because I figured I wouldn't have enough time to complete it..

Second time I had a better clue. Worked smoothly.

After you activate step towards some infernals (rock mobs)...hit destroy infernals..turn a little...do it again....by then you will be swarmed so hit stun..then turbo towards some more infernals in a different spot and to get some space between your reaver and the mobs...destroy some more...stun again...rinse and repeat but be sure to eventually run up the broad expanse of steps (where there are a boatload more of infernal)s.

Using the stun and turbo and utilizing the steps, I was able to finish in less than two minutes. And like others have said, it was fun that time.

Had to go to the Alliance posts to get an idea of what was happening. It dosent seem as though anyone on horde side noticed or is having this problem that Im having... I cant target the Infernals. Not at all. The AoE of the Reaver doesnt do anything either. (to intended target anyway) Controls are fine, if u have a pet/minion, dismiss B4 accepting quest so u dont have to waste what little time you have to be able to kill 60 Infernals. I'm only just assuming, cause I can't attack them.

Hands down, one of the worst quests in the entire game.

Some important points to note here:

If you are a hunter, dismiss your pet, else you won't even be able to access the console, just assuming but I think same goes for any classes that can summon a pet, aka warlock.
For all classes, keep an eye out for the mobs as they will run towards your character that's controlling the console and kill you. Hunters can use Feign Death, others just run for your life lol.
Pressing Esc will remove you from the vehicle.

In BCC, using the teleporter in ghost mode doesn't work. You'll have to use the spirit healer and suffer the consequences.

If you die, and want to use the Legion Hold teleporter to send you back to Invasion Point: Cataclysm, be sure to walk ALL THE WAY THROUGH the teleporter and out the other side. It won't work if you just walk into the middle and stop.

On classic TBC this is broken as hell. I Tried many times, and every time you get nocked from the reaver you port back to the control unit with ALL the mobs you had aggro with that instantly kill you. Then there is no way back without getting res sic and loosing 25% because the portal does not work when in ghost.

1. Walk down the path from the quest giver, there are 3 control panels over-looking the demons
2. Dismiss your pet if you have one
3. You can exit and use the console again to get a fresh 'pet' walker

Some demons will come up to attack you eventually, keep an eye on your health since the walk back from the graveyard is long and annoying. As a hunter I feigned death and used another console. That 70 elite that walks around and the friendlies near the quest giver don't seem to aggro them to help out :( Maybe someone has a better tip, maybe using the walker to kill the mobs down there is good...
