L69 Priest Shadowspec took him down in 15 seconds without a single HP loss. All u need to do is just fear him away once and keep nuking = he is dead

Very easy as a balance druid (lvl 68). Just roots, some dots and just wrath and starfire (depends and mood) . Didn't even use my dear trees :P

Very, Very hard, even with fire pot, I was dominated, took him down to about 50% as a 70 Pally, I couldnt even heal fast enough with that fire breath, idk

pretty easy mob, has a lot of hp but as long as you interrupt his breath you'll outlast it. make sure to clear some of the Greater Felfire Diemetrodons around him so you don't accidentally pull one with Felspine.

Clear the mobs around him because they aren't easy to see, and aggro. He opens with fel breath and it took me from about 5500HP to about 1500HP in just 3 seconds or so. I popped a HP potion, and he was an easy kill.

soloed it as a lvl 67 markmanship hunter, he didn't even attack me, the pet took with all damage.
when he spited all that fire i used silecing shot and he stoped and then it was over, very easy quest in my opinion...

p.s.: u better clear the other mobs around the ramp

You're looking for a giant named one. Not the small ones. I'd say the drop rate on the correct mob is closer to 100%

I'm lvl 70 Druid, I just landed on the side of the pool and moonfiered him (I'm feral), shifted to cat, combod him up and simply kille dihm with no problems;-) I got lucky and resisted most of the flames a trick, if he's casting, maim.. easy fight:-)

"Felspine the Greater" is very easy to kill he only got 12493hp and only do about 250DPS pr hit. He can be found at 56,41 near the bridge in "Ruins of Baa'ri". He is soloable :)

As a 68 BM Hunter, I died the first time because I let my pet get roasted in the fire breath.

Successful strategy: send pet in, then fall back and drop a snake trap between you and your pet. As soon as Felspine starts to cast the fire breath, pull your pet back. Felspine will hit the trap and your pet will live. Send your pet back in and it's all over but the skinnin'.

That breath takes a 70 plate wearer down to about 20% health in 1 shot. Plus the green lava hurts, pull him back to the land area to the northwest.

Melee for 250-300 on 7k armor (mail w/ shield) with roughly 3.0 attack speed
Casts a breath called 'Fel Flames' every 10-15 seconds. The breath is channeled, deals 1000 fire damage per tick, and lasts 4-5 ticks.
Yielded 1x Knothide Leather when skinned.

Easily solo'd as a 70 resto shaman, roughly +800 healing. Earth shield kept me fully healed through everything but the breath, which is cast infrequently enough that earth shock is always up to interrupt it. Cleared a single diemetradon to the south to make a space for the kill, pulled, and waited for the measly resto dps to take him down.

As a 70 shadow priest with the "Glowing Crystal Insignia" trinket, what I did was cast my shield, waited 4 seconds, hit my trinket which increases my damage by 104 for 20 seconds...Casted my Vampiric Touch, SW: P, Mind Blast and then mind flayed. after that sequence i threw in my shadow fiend, mind blasted him again, re-shielded...and before you know it, he was toast....lost maybe 500 HP and after his death, i was back to full mana "Thanx Shadowfiend" :D

Just completed this quest as a BM hunter. He evaded all auto shots so I hit him with an Aimed Shot and got his aggro. Easy kill.

Tried this quest today, he agrod but was taking no damage, i died, went back but will not agro, just evade, evade, evade and will not move. Tried point command which is a load of poo. My character pointed at him he never respwaned just the same evade etc

Beside him being bugged:
Hunters/Locks/otherclassesthatuseanNPCtotank.
Take him on the land first, the green 'lava' will kill all before you notice it.
I learned that the hard way...

Just message a GM and tell him to respawn it. My GM answered me within 10 minutes. He knew about the mob having issues and restarted it. No problems with it after that.

Had no problem killing him as of today easily soloed as a 68 prot pally just judge with light and dps with SoV and use HoJ to interrupt forst Fel Flames cast and bubble during the second one anf if you follow this he shouldnt have time for a third^^

This is a really easy kill as long as you remember to interrupt his flame breath attack, which does a colossal amount of damage and will fry your ass up good if you're a cloth-wearer.

Solo'd at a 69 Feral Druid. Very simple strategy.

I just popped a Rejuvination, charged in, laid on attacks and Bashed/interrupted him every time he tried to do the Flame breath thing.

I even missed the chance to interrupt the first flame breath and I came out of the fight easy with over half my HP still intact so this shouldn't be a hard fight for too many people.

I am happy to report that because Felspine the Greater was almost eternally evade-bugged, they have moved him up onto the land immediately south of the lava pool in which he was standing pre-patch.

Just clear the mobs walking around him and have at it.

easy solo'ed as a holy paladin (even easier when having a gryphon)

1. I pulled him to a standable ground (with gryphon even easier)
2. aoe'd and dps'd untill he did that breath of fire (here I actually spam healed with flash of light and also had fire resistance aura on).
3. I repeated point no. 2

Mob is at 56, 42.

Has a breath spell, can be interrupted. His breath spell does not immobilize him, if you move, the breath will follow you.

If you can quell the flame breath spell, you can kill this guy easy.

I as a level 69 prot warrior soloed him thanks to shield bash. Just watch the cast, bash, and fight some more.

70 Warrior solo'd this... First time I tried to DPS him, but no luck his fire breath got me in the end. 2nd time I put on my sheild and 1h weapon +8 sharpening stone on it and went at it with him got down around 20% health used Last stand and finished him off, but make sure you have a lot of rage built up when you use Last stand spell. Just pull him to the slope near the bridge, might have to kill 1 or 2 of those mobs that are near there, but its easier that way.

Cake as a 70 demolock. I did have to use Fel Domination part-way through the fight for another Felguard because of the breath attack, but it was a quick fight and I left with about 70% health.

Per the GM: He has an issue right now where he will evade if someone attacks him, but dies or breaks combat before killing him.

I was able to get the GM to zap him so he would respawn. I then succesfully killed him and completed my quest.

He got me once, but I managed to beat him down tonight. Or maybe it was the night elf hunter who turned up at the last minute and helped...

55, 43, Has a Fel Breath cast that's channeled, he can't move while he sprays this does 900dps. One Felboar behind you to clear and can be pulled up to the top plateau to kill. Very easy kill at 70.

He IS fearable. Just DOT and fear. Doesn't even aggro other mobs when it goes through them.

And Hunter.s- traps, scare beast, etc... should be easy.

For Rogues- he was dead before he knew what hit him really.

Soloed as 67 lock. If you can pull him up to the bridge and keep fearing him, you should have no trouble. I don't think he even hit me once.

couldn't do this one solo (70 holy spec priest). I was holy firing, smiting, shielding, healing, he beat me easy. I got lucky and a random druid (i think) came along, ressed me, grouped me, and i got to watch her take down the mob in about 10 seconds.

god i miss shad spec.

moral? if you're a newbie holy spec priest, try and get help :)

What a piece of crap quest.
His breath is teh sux if your not ready for it.
As a 68 hunter without huge resists on my main pet, he kept going to about half, then spraying his breath. Thatll tear through your pet fast so youd better spam heals.
Also, his huge Fing size makes it hard to be able to be in arrow range (far from him) yet close enough to heal your pet.

This guy was a pain.... And the rewards for it werent worth the time.
Had I been 70 or prepared for his breath it might have gone easier.

(On a side note, its funny that when you're dead you can walk on water, but not on lava!)

Easily Soloable as a 70 Rogue. The Co-ords are right at 56, 42. Just popped evasion and Adrenaline Rush. When he started his fire breath just Kidney Shot or Gouge. Very Easy :-) Good Luck!

I made the stupid mistake of sending in my pet to kill him, not realising the water inflicts damage, so use a ranged attack to pull him out first.

Don't worry about surounding mobs, they don't aggro if you pulled something else.

Did this as a 68 rogue 14/43/0 built combat. I pulled just him and none of the mobs followed, he was dead before my evasion was done, easy kill and quest

I guess im just lousy at playing since other mages 'so easily' takes this one down ?

After dying 2 times, I buffed up so much I could hardly see anything else on my monitor.

The result ?

3 hits(bashes or whatever) + 1 X fel fire, and I was dead. My "low health" alarm goes off at 2K HP, but I didnt even have the time to drink a health portion before I was dead.

I recommend cloth weares to bring a helping hand doing this(a tank).

How can u not be able to kill this mob? i am 70 priest didnt get under 90% hp... any way he can be found at 56, 42. Just find a place where there is no mobs and pull him, he doesn't pull the other mobs.

Long story short, I used to work with a blood elf named Tiorus. My partnership with Tiorus dissolved once I got into gourmet living. He decided to take it upon himself to continue our research using MY inventions. Anyhow, he had some of his Horde goons using my arcano-scorp probes at the Ruins of Baa'ri lava flow and discovered the mother of all diemetradons!

I need you to get there before he does and kill the diemetradon, Felspine, and bring his hide back to me.
