You can use the gun anywhere, as long as you've got the Path of Conquest discovered. I found the place and got swarmed by the blood elves, but I used the flare gun at the graveyard and it still completed properly.

if you have a flying mount, this is even easier. i flew over 51, 62 and completed the quest, then found a clear spot to land and used the flare.

Even if you have discovered the area, you need to fly around until it shows the "completed" before using the flare gun. As mentioned before, any safe spot in the area will work.

Okay, at level 70, and with a flying mount this is soloable. Just fly to the co-ords above, get the message that you have discovered the path, then land, use the flare gun, speak to the rider, then get the next quest. Easy :)

If you have a flying mount of any type (even the slow one), fly to (50,62) and even while in the air you will discover the area you need to complete the quest without even dismounting.

As a Paladin, I found the Path of Conquest accidentally whilst wandering, and was swamped by mobs. I bubbled up and hearthstoned but I'd 'discovered' the area in the process. I was able to simply fire the flare gun whilst at Wildhammer Stronghold and then complete the quest.

as a rouge is this easy as cake. you just have to stealth in and if you get detect vanish did it at 52.58

I was having trouble soloing this one because I couldn't get past all the mobs. Then I discovered that at 50, 62, above the path with all the mobs, the quest completes. The only mobs here are dragonhawks, and no flying mount required.

Glow has it right 51,58, got the discovered part then I found a safe spot to land used the FLare gun and job done... Easy to do if you can fly it.

You need to get a message that says "Path of Conquest Discovered (Complete)" before you can complete the quest, otherwise the gryphon rider will just have a gray question mark above his head when you call him. Flying down the path a little ways at low altitude did the trick for me.

this does lead to Breaching the Path. you will have to kill 5 68-69 elites, 20 68-69 non-elites, and 10 68-69 non elites on mounts, once you kill the mobs on the mount you will have to kill the level 70 mount as well.

I solo'd this on a well geared 68 hunter. The son of corok elite mobs are tuff but freezing trap ftw.

Put trap down
pull, sick pet on mob when your pet gets down to about 1k pull him back towards you have the mob step on your trap, bandage

use knock outs and concussive shots, (buying time until u can bandage again)

Rinse and repeat

You can simply fly to the trigger, which is located at 51,62.

Just fly around a little near the ground till you hit it

What hasn't been said yet, although it is in the quest description, once the quest shows complete, you MUST use the flare gun to turn in the quest.

The gyphon rider will give you the next quest.

I am so thick, I was flying around the area it shows on the Start NPC location for 10 minutes, not even thinking about the wildhammer flare gun that appeared in my inventory when I got the quest in the first place. lmao, goes to show you, always see what you get when you accept a quest.

Quest-wise.. 51,62 coords correct, The trigger is, I believe, a flare floating in the air, go beneath it and you're done! gl hf

EDIT: Btw this does NOT lead to Dissension Amongst the Ranks... it leads to Breaching the Path, still not sure how to get Dissension Amongst the Ranks... if anyone finds out, it would be nice to know.

Coords are:
50,62
No need to kill anything
Easily soloable with a flyer
Without a flyer, to reach the location without going near elites simply approach from the west and walk up the hill, killing the non elite trash mobs that are in the way (3 from what i see)

Got the quest complete message while about 10 yards in the air at this spot.

The path of conquest leads to 'Breaching the Path', not dissention among the ranks. breaching the path is a kill count quest requiring 2 maybe 3 players as it includes lvl 68-69 elites that need to be killed.

The Path of Conquest

Travel to the Path of Conquest in Shadowmoon Valley. Once you have done a preliminary assessment of the area, use the Wildhammer Flare Gun to signal a Wildhammer Gryphon Rider.

Speak with Thane Yoregar at Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley should you lose your Wildhammer Flare Gun and require a replacement.

My gryphon riders have come back with a bit of news! The Eclipsion blood elves are planning something big. They've begun forming their armies at the Path of Conquest, located east of here - adjacent to Eclipse Point.

I want you to travel to the Path of Conquest and assess the situation. Once you've done so, use this flare gun to signal a gryphon rider. One will swoop down from the sky to meet you. Tell 'em what you've discovered and they'll give you the next set of orders.
