umm this is impossible to do and eventualy the fires burn out on their own but it doesnt complete

It is possible, I have done it quite a few times. I suggest you position yourself in a place where there are many other players like Goldshire. Since you will have more help, it will get completed. We didn't get them all out one time and the horseman didn't leave the pumpkin for us to smash, however the quest did complete even without the fires all being put out.

To be most effective, one person can supply up to 2 other people with water buckets if that one person is standing (not moving) right next to the water bucket. HOWEVER, if they have to run a little bit away to get to the other person, then they can realistically only supply 1 other person with water buckets. That means you have to pick 1 person to throw to and that's it! If you are a middleman, then you can only supply 1 person. Therefore, if you don't have someone to supply to, or are getting supplied from, start running back and forth. PRO TIP: Put the bucket on your action bar! Then spam that button till you see a green target appear and toss. Searching through your inventory takes too much time. If you time it right, you can rapid toss and receive buckets. Don't toss your person a bucket until you've seen them toss their bucket or else you're wasting time.

Please, <name>, join the fire brigade. Grab a bucket and toss it on the fires, or pass it to a friend who's closer to the blaze. Put out all the fires and we may yet be saved!
