The fetishes are dropped off of almost all the Atal'ai mobs right outside and inside the instance, even the bosses.

And the reward is really good for any melee class.

Binary is right though, the alliance version of this quest starts in SW.

Awarded me 500 reputation with Orgrimmar as of 7th December, patch 2.3.
...and 10200 experience as well, but that was to be expected anyway.

An increase in 150 reputation is nothing to turn down.

The reward isn't too bad. I use it with my druid when I need to tank. It'd be nice if the duration for the armor up was more like what you get with Mark of the Chosen, but it does come in handy.

The fetish drop rate was kinda low, however. I ended up doing it solo by killing trolls outside the instance, and it took a long time to complete. Later I did a 4-man ST run where one of the others in the party didn't have the quest. Nevertheless, the two who were doing it had to kill trolls outside the instance after we were done to finish it.

The reason The Temple of Atal'hakkar is called The Sunken Temple is because there is a quest for this instance by the name of The Sunken Temple, and the quest name stuck. Hope you are happy now.

As the drop rate inside the instance is quite low, it is possibly for a full group to complete the instance and any one individual not have enough fetishes to complete this quest. After the 2.3 changes, the Atal'ai Priests and Mummified Atal'ai trolls are non-elite and also drop the fetishes. As such, it is quite possible to solo this quest by grinding on the mobs inside the Temple, but outside the instance.

Chain starts with Pool of Tears

This quest starts in Stonard, Swamp of Sorrows, from Fel'Zerul usptairs.

The fetish drop rate is low. You can farm the fetishes outside of the instance if need be.They also drop from elites inside as well.

This is a HORDE ONLY quest in the Sunken Temple. However, there is a similar chain for the alliance.

Don't let the trinket reward pull you in too much.

This quest is not to be done alone. I figured that as I am underleveled (46) I could still kill the trolls that drop these Fetishes, since they're the same level and I can kill them 1 by 1. The drop rate on the fetishes is 5%, which means that on average, you'll need to kill 400 trolls to get all 20.

On top of it taking insanely long to complete, going into the place where you find trolls takes time too because of all the Oozes and Nagas. You'll also have to dodge the patrolling NPCs while trying to figure out who to pull next.

Basically a TL;DR : Just get a dungeon group. Don't try to solo.

The Atal'ai spiritual leader believes once Hakkar returns to Azeroth from the Nether, the god will grant the Atal'ai tribe immortality.

Foolish trickery to bring about a premature doomsday if you ask me.

But you say the exile spoke of enchanted fetishes? This concerns me greatly. If these are in fact the key to the Atal'ai ritual which caused this mess, we must understand their intrinsic powers.

Venture into the Temple, and seize the fetishes!
