Jintha'Alor is extremely hard (Bring a level 60) and is full of elites.

Me (lvl 54 Warrior) and a lvl 54 pally completed this quest without wiping...mobs are spread out, and easy to draw off one by one..only once had to fight more than one at a time. If you watch Hexx, you'll notice that she walks around, making it to draw her off by herself as well. All in all, didn't find it difficult at all. When going through Jintha'Alor, look for alternate routes past mobs if you want. Found quite a few corners we could jump, making the path to Sharpbeak much easier.

If you are REALLY lazy make 2 or 3 corpse runs and you can resurrect next to Sharpbeak with out having 2 kill anyone. I completed this at level 47 :)

When you get to the top of Jintha'Alor, take a left and go threw the doorway and into an arena type place. Clear the area. Then wait for the princess to go her patrol. then pick off the guards. Once the guards are down, take out the princess.

Don't forget to create your ZF mallet if you have the item for it.

Then, go back to the stairs u came up, and to the right of them you will see a cave with two guards. Take out the guards, go threw the cave and lock the cage. Then just jump off the cliff (carefully).

The above comments are great. Remember as the one poster said, take the Zul Furak mallet to the altar if you need to complete it. My only comment is that this quest ending is the best cut scene in the game. I still get a lump in my throat every time Sharpbeak's parents arrive and say thank you. Maybe it's a "girl" thing, but it's like a happy ending to a Disney movie. I give it 5 Stars....a must see.

Apparently, way back when, it used to end with sharpbeak having already been killed, but blizzard had a change of heart and gave it the current ending.

Got 10600 xp at level 50 for this quest. Vile Priestess Hexx is a pain if you are solo without any stuns. she constantly hexs and shadow word pains you, and heals herself. I finally killed her because she healed first instead of hexing. took 4 tries

Just solo'd her as a 47 feral druid, wasn't easy cuz I had to heal, and right when I changed to caster form she hexed me twice. I had to drink a pot, then go bear form and kill her. It was a long fight, and I waited till she was low on health and was going to heal herself to use bash and stun her. Then she ran away and it was an easy kill from there..

I just soloed this quest on my 46 rogue... Granit i stealthed all the way to Hexx and then took out the two gaurds on each side as she walked away then took her down as i kept her kicked and stunned... Overall this quest has nice rewards for the difficulty... took me all of 20 min to do this..

Fought her 3 times, I dont know if they changed this but she kept me froggied the whole time while beating on me. If you have this problem, do what I did and bring a friend, she can only he one person at a time. Hope this helps.

The Vile Priestess Hexx spawns at the Altar where Elder Torntusk is laying. The co-ords are are 59, 77. It is the same Altar that you create the Mallet of Zul Farrak. Note the cage for sharpbeak is not at this altar, you come to the altar first, and fight her for Hexx's Key.

If you show up and she is not there, someone has killed her before you, just wait and she will re-spawn in about 5-10 mins.

I did this solo and didn't have to touch any guards around the arena. She does polymorph you, and curse you, but as a druid I HoTed myself then DoTed her then went feral to avoid her polymorphing me. She did heal herself halfway through the first health bar. At this point I HoTed myself again and repeated the same process.

Note, she does run away when she is at about 10% health, just like the other trolls in the area... so if you don't get her fast you might have a few extra mobs to fight.

Once you get the key, you go get sharp beak by exiting the arena and staying on the top level of the temple and going through the cave with two lvl 50 guards by 53, 66.

Note there are no guards or mobs in with sharpbeak, and I was able to stealth past the guards and open his cage with no issue.

PS. you will want to stay for a few moments for sharp beak to 'chirps a goodbye to...' because you get to see something kinda cute. ;)

Solo'd Hexx as a lvl 50 disc/holy nelf priest. I used sw: pain, starshards, shield, renew and psychic scream. I juggled instant casts on her and myself as often as possible between being frogged and her healing. I used psychic scream whenever it was off cool-down and while she was feared I mana burned her so she would be unable to heal herself. It was nerve-wracking and sucked. Bring a 70 instead.

Fighting Hexx can be annoying, but i soloed as a 47 rogue by continually tapping kick as i came out of frogdom and fighting for a few seconds before i fought again.... rinse and repeat.

Make sure you have the "Ancient Egg" quest before you go to do this quest. Right behind the mob that gives you the key is the cave the ancient egg is in. Also you can enchant the mallet at the alter up here to make " Mallet of Zul'farrak" to summon Gah'zilla. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone (well 3). Plus you won't have to ever come up that maze of steps again.

Owkay easy quest,

mount up, follow the road up the stairs. keep going up almost until the very top. You'll go up some stairs and see another set of stairs almost directly in front of you. Don't go up those. Instead go LEFT, through the little area with slimes and then up the stairs and follow the road. You'll come to a pit area with stairs leading down. The altar is at the bottom of this with Vile Hexx. make sure you pull her OFF the altar or else you have a good chance to aggro at least 1 of the adds on teh sides!

Hexx is @ 59 77

when you get the key, you can go to the cave with the cage (not the cave behind the altar), its through the north exit of the pit and has 2 guards infront of it which you can pull 1 by 1!

we did this quest we 3 lvl50's and the hardest part was to get up there but running is a good option.

Semi-easy quest if you can find a couple people to help.

Finding a couple people to help is the hardest part to this quest... Everyone in Gadget screams "LFG ZF need Mallet!" yet no one does this quest to get the mallet. Something is wrong with that *sigh*

Cave is at the cords 56,68, the cave is guarded by 2 elite mobs. cage is at 53,66 .there is no mobs near the cage. good luck now^^

First go to 59,77 and kill the priest to get the drop that will open the cage. We didn't have to take out the guards. Then make your way to the cave at 56,68. Once on the other side of the cave, you are home free and done fighting. Open the cage and turn the quest in at Gryphon Master Talonaxe in Aerie Peek. If you are this far into the game and don't have Cosmos, by all means get it! It makes it so much easier and enjoyable to play. It is very easy to install and easy to use.

One of the early posts by Darkchild describes how to find the priestess, but here�s my recollection:

This troll place Jintha�Alor is built around a winding path that goes up some stairs, swings left, then up some more stairs, swings right, then more stairs and so on in that vein. Whether you hack your way through or go the suicide run (which I�ve never tried lol), keep going till the stairs and winding path stop. This will happen at the top of the final staircase and you�ll come to a T-intersection i.e. path splits left and right. Off to the right in the distance you�ll see a cave � Sharpbeak is at the end of this cave, but the priestess isn�t, you have to turn left and follow that path for half a minute to get to the priestess. She�s in the bottom of a pit/ amphitheatre and yes there is a chance you�ll get adds when you engage her.

Side note: There�s some dude on top of the altar near the priestess who only woke up when we attacked him directly. He was PvP so we flagged when we attacked him � something to watch out for if there are Horde in Jintha�Alor with you.

Side note 2: There is a cave behind the amphitheatre. This one is for the quest The Ancient Egg, not for Sharpbeak.

Once you get the priestess you return to the intersection and head into the cave you first saw from the top of the stairs. It�s guarded by two mobs but once inside we found nothing more threatening than a Ghost Mushroom spawn. You come out of the far end of the cave into an open-air ridge and Sharpbeak is in a cage as per the picture above.

A L52 Holy priest and I (L53 Arms warrior) opted to carefully chew our way through the mobs on the way up (we were only doing The Ancient Egg at the time). It was doable.

Not the easiest thing to do but it is possible. First i soloed the mobs on top of the Alter of Zul to get the sacred mallet. Just MC Qiaga and let the other mob take it low, then break MC and kill it. Take off your gear and run into jintha alor, die and ghost run until you are at the alter. Rez and use the sacred mallet. Next you can rez off to the left(if you are facing the cave) and not aggro. there is a troll to your left if you face the alter from this point. MC him and run him into the 50 elite and Hexx, he should die and then you will. Run and rez again same spot, put your gear on, buff up, MC Hexx and let the 50 elite beat up on her, also use Hexx's shadow word pain on the 50 elite on the other side of the alter. 2 lv 50 elites should be attacking Hexx, when she is low...around 5%....break MC and throw shadow word pain on her, shield yourself as the 2 other elites will run at you, fear them and chase Hexx using more shadow word pains to give her the full 5 stack of shadow vulnerabilty, she should die before the fear wears off, run and loot her. At this point I ran into the cave behind the alter to do the Ancient Egg quest, as soon as you can find a place out of combat unequip your gear again. Get the egg then rez/run back out and go to the cave slightly north of the alter. This is sharpbeaks cave. I soloed all 3 things as a 48 shadow priest, it takes patience but its not too hard.

I HATE this quest.

No, let me clairify.

I HATE VIle Priestess Hexx! I've died....maybe, 5 times on her? 53 Feral Druid here, in decent gear. I've tried Pounce > Mangle > Shred, etc., I've tried caster form nuke, I've tried bear form stun + heal, and still, she always hits for 200-300, frogs me when I go into caster to heal, and kills me. Getting tired, and my repair bill is getting high...but those pants are just too damn good...

I tried soloing this as a 49 bm hunter. No way in hell could I have finished it myself. I ended up getting help from 69 rogue and blew through it, but it is not solo-able below lvl 50. Nor would I imagine it be worthwhile to spend the time trying to beat it at any level less than 55.
Very difficult quest.

SAVING SHARPBEAK

1. Go to "Jintha'Alor" and kill the enemies to get to the temple where Priestess Hexx is.
She's at lvl 51, at least when I killed her

2. Kill her and get her key "Hexx's Key"

3. Northwest from Priestess Hexx, you'll find a cave. To Trolls at lvl 51 is guarding here.

4. Go innside the cave to you get to the end.
Here you can see a cage who poor little Sharpbeak is innside. Use Hexx's Key and open up the cage.
Now Sharbeaks's partents will do the rest of the job.

5. Go back to Arie Peak, and talk to the Gryphon Master.

NOW YOU SHOULD BE FINISHED

After 2.3 this quest is now soloable below 50; I just did this on my 49 warrior. It was a pain with all of the hexes and whatnot, but if you can stun or fear her in between your toad phases, and pop a draenei heal or a healing potion, then you should be fine. I managed to kill her mainly using Mortal Strike and Rend so there would at least be one dot on her while I was hexed and she wouldn't be able to get her full heal. If you get a lucky crit in there, Deep Wounds is a great help.

Solo'ed this last night with my 52 Shaman in about 15 minutues (and probably could have done it at level 48+, too). Used a scroll of protection and stamina, and stayed mounted or ghost-wolfed, zig-zagging to avoid aggro until I hit some clear spots where I could fight trailing mobs and heal/rest. Died once after getting knocked off my mount, just made sure I went down in a good spot and reincarnated.

Hexx was cake, first cleared some mobs around the altar and waited for her to wander back on her own. Dropped a Tremor Totem (not sure if it was needed) and Earth Shock'ed for spell interrupts.

Received a very nice windfury-friendly slow mace and 10,600 xp upon completion (patch 2.3 ftw).

Solo'd Saving Sharpbeak tonight as a 48 Demonology Warlock. It was a sweaty-palm run, died once. The guide and coord's are spot on from previous posts. Locks seem to be pretty tough with a VW and no other scrolls. Just gotta be careful you don't pull too many...but thats the general rule.

The birdie was sweet, gave me the cheesy little chirp, pooped on the rail and flew happily off into the setting sun.

So, now its back to get the damn ancient egg tomorrow. Dang...should have read the whole post and saved myself a run.

They are very easy. They are no longer elites. used to be a pain to get a group over there. Just soloed as 52 rogue. had two guards and the princess on me and lived with more than half health. side note: those looking for purple lotus, this place is full of it.

Ive had this last part of the chain in my list for a while, guess i was too lazy to work my way up and finish. Ive killed Hexx 7 times now and no key, if i remember right, first time i went up, a group had already killed her. any comments?

Lvl 48 druid, shadowed it all the way up, found Hexx, entangled twice while she frogged me, healed every time i could, then went cat and beat the crap out of her... used starfire to aggro her from her helpers at start... she didnt take off 300 damage like people said, only about 90 a hit which was nothing big at all... and her health went by QUICK with my feral spec

49 Shadow priest, bit of a mission getting up to hexx but after that carefully pulled her away from adds for a easy kill. No ellites, no deaths.

For everyone having trouble finding sharpbeak's cage, it is through a cave on the same level as the priestess, just the opposite side. (After you take care of the priestess, exit the amphitheater and go a bit north while staying on the same level) The cave is hard to miss.

As a lv 47 I soloed this thing easily. I don't know why everyone is worrying about getting 2 lv 52's to do their bidding because I even tried bringing a 42 up with me and that was fine. Just don't attract more than one enemy at a time, kill as less as possible, and try to get to the top by sneaking past them. Priestess is only like lv 52, just take out the wolves around her and fight her, go back to the intersection, fight past the lv 50 NON ELITES guarding the cave and you have an eagle cat thing in a cage and a key in your hand.

3 minute jobby for my druid, stealth up, pounce, 2 shreds, FF finished of with a claw and ferocious bite. Looted key stealthed through guards, opened cage and went to go get the very nice leggings.

I am a level 47 Hunter, and I managed to finish this Quest without big problems...

To get to the Hexx, you can run into the Overlook Cliffs to skip the first steps and enemies.

Then mount and run towards Hexx. Because you might be kicked off the mount, just run further and stay close to the wall on the west side. You will die, but when you come near your body keep going and approach your body on the other side of the wall, which is closer to the Hexx and resurrect.

The most important hint here is the area near Hexx. Behind Rexx is a cave. On both sides are stone snakes. On the right side, you can run behind the torch and the snake, and stay there to regain some health. There the npcs wont touch you, but you wont be able to deal damage either. If having a pet, dismiss it, otherwise it will be stuck when you jump back. Pull the NPC in the entrance of the cave first. Then you can kill Hexx. But don't forget to call your pet again once you jumped into the fight again.

When finished there, mount and run towards another cave to the north. Forget those npcs, just get into the cave. At the other end of the cave, you'll find our beloved bird Sharpbeak.

Release it, wave goodbye, and jump down from there. But be careful, it's a long jump and might have to be done in two smaller steps.

Don't forget to pick up your reward! If you can't use either of them, pick the mace. It sells better to a vendor.

hm.. not too had of a q.
I'm a lvl 46 hunter soloing this with pretty crappy gear too -> the lowest is for lvl 35..
It did take me a while to get finished,
but killing the priestess was easy, didnt die ones.
And to get to the cage to release the bird -> just run most of the way and than feign death..
No big trouble at all ;)

I soloed this no prob with my lvl 47 fury warrior, And hes even useing a 2 hander.... No mob even took me below half. Killed that dumb hexx lady and saved the bird, got the mace and now i can duel weild:) Nice reward for an ez quest!

Sharpbeak is to the right of the cave that is behind Vile Priestess Hexx. Not the one behind her. That is for Acient Egg quest. If your lost and you find Vile Priestess Hexx, head north. You will goto another cave on same altitude terrain. The cave has a couple mobs in front of it, but you need to go through the cave (no mobs inside) and to the other side. You will find sharpbeak :)

Heh, I solo'd this at level 47 as a hunter. Hex was a REALLY easy fight, all I did was send my pet in, attack, then when he was polymorhped, i'd feign death. I died twice getting up to hex but other then that it was easy as pie. And the pants are godly. :D

if you are a rogue u can easy solo this quest at lvl 52... first defeat the priest 51 elite, she's not very hard, just use evasion, potion and its okay...

after get the key, u will have to go into the cave, the entrance is 57,68!

there is just 2 guards near the entrance, but after that 2, the cave is clean...

you can also solo the quest of Ancient egg, go inside the cave where the Priest Hexx is.. inside the cave there will be 3 guards elite around the Egg...

you just have to Sap 1, then Blind another, gouge the last 1.. and very fast open the Egg and get the quest item, then u just have to use Vanish! :)

Solo Priest at 48 lvl mage . Pyroblast,fireball,fireblast them he try to heal himself. Cast counterspell and finished him easy.

I found this to be very simple to solo as a lvl 51 mage. The coordinates are dead on; I simply rode my mount all the way through the mobs until I reached the coordinates for princess Hexx. I waited outside of the range of any other mobs until the princess walked my direction and then attacked. With my water elemental she was not a problem at all, even when I was changed to a frog.

Then, like was said previously, there are no guards or anything at the cage, I simply let sharpbeak out and then used my slow fall spell to jump off the cliff so I didn't have to go back through all the stairs and such again.

I received 10600 points for this quest.

I still think the easiest class to kill her is a Druid.
The fact that when we are shapeshifted means we cant be
affected by PolyMorph and stuff, plus you can heal up if you want.

Did this at 49 as a shadow priest with the help of a 49 BE pally. Pretty easy now that they aren't any elites. We killed her once for the hordie and once for me. After we killed her, we bubbled, mounted, and ran toward the cage. There's nothing to kill by the cage and no adds spawn when you open the cage. All and all, pretty easy after 2.3. I could have solo'd this with no issues, but it goes quicker with someone else. There's just a lot of stuff to clear to get to where you need to be.

The co-ords are correct.

Exp gained for turning in this portion: 10600 at lvl 50 (ding'd while I was doing the quest)

Two blue item choices. I picked Gryphon Rider's Stormhammer.

2.70 speed (35.2 dps)

I tried to solo this mission with a level 52 rogue and found myself turned into a frog and beaten to death on the occasions I tried it. In spite of potions and evasion I was killed quite easily by this 51st level troll. Perhaps a great how to guide would be all the information regarding the 52nd level rogue who managed to succeed where I failed, I would like to know his armor class, agility and stamina stats as well as whatever buffs or other magical protections he used in this quests completion.

I soloed it the best way to...

Get ur lvl 70 to clean out all the trash, and leave her for ur guy to attempt...She's still tough with all the hexing crap, but atleast you don't have to worry about adds...I had fun smashing their puny asses.

Hexx is tough - the polymorph is instant cast - no way to counter or stun in time..

Tried solo with 54 rogue - kill the guards is easy, sap or atract to no agroo zone..

But Hexx.. she polymorph one time after another.. no time to strike back!
Even with insignia trinket, just 1x polymorph can be undone..

Someone use a good tactic solo against?

Easy as a 49 rogue, could stealth all the way in without wasting time on the mobs.
Hexx were tough though, thx to her hex... First time i tried i aggroed 4 mobs and got hexxed all the time, that time i barely landed a blow... :S

Coords are allright, and the reward were nice for a rogue! :P

This IS the worst quest / worst b*itch in the game... as a lvl 49 tonight she killed me 6 times... 5th time i had her down to 10% before she ran away and healed, came back and hexxed me and killed me again... its BS! the 6th time i dont think i landed a hit in because it was hexx after hexx after hexx... btw Horde have a quest at the same spot to save some Troll... during one of my deaths (not by the Horde) a party of 5(!) were there doing their quest... 5! thought that was weak....

Just soloed as a 48 Rogue.
Used CS SS Rupture and stacked poisons before she could poly, blinded for a few more hits and made sure to break her heal... she is rather squishie if you can get a few hits on her. Can't say for sure how other classes would solo but if you can get some dots on her and some luck she isnt too hard.... dont see how evasion would help.

Annoying to Solo her, but completely doable as low as lvl48 for Prot Paladin (thats when I did it at least).

She was a lvl51 non-elite, with fairly low health, her melee attack is weak compared to the trolls around her, she has SW:P like the Shadow Hunters in the area, and she has a long cast time Heal that takes roughly a 4th of her mana that she uses at ~30% health that brings her almost back to 100%.

Sounds like a 30 sec fight right? Well...She can do one more thing...Turn you into a frog (even when you are soloing her), which is a 10 sec "fear" type CC that doesn't break on damage, ever. She also can and most of the time DOES chain cast it on you. You spend 95% of this fight running around the floor as a useless frog.

Ok, so I didn't bother judging anything on her since you hit her so little its just wasted mana, I just judged Righteousness to start the fight. She frogs and then beats on me (getting ret aura dmg), and every 10 secs I just judge Righteousness again before she re-frogs me (sometimes even getting 1-2 strikes in with my weapon, If I was lucky), every minute I stunned and got 5 secs of free beatdown on her. After about 4 frog sessions I pop a potion during the downtime because my health is down to around 35%. She uses heal while I'm frogged.

Basically this situation repeats three more times (I end up popping Divine Shield+Holy Light and another Potion) until she has no mana - Then in the final "phase" instead of healing (because she has no mana) she runs away - making it super easy for me to finish her pitiful life.

Sad what could be a simple trash kill turns into an almost 6 Minute fight because Blizzard decided that Warlocks Fear-Chaining people in BGs wasn't cool enough...they had to put in an NPC that could do it even more efficiently (because of no Diminishing Returns) >_<

You need to kill Vile Priestess Hexx to loot the key to open Sharpbeak's Cage.

This is a tough fight, as she hex's you into a frog, and then beats you down, and the damage does not break the hex.

I'd recommend picking up a Restorative Potion

This was how I managed to solo her on my level 55 combat rogue, after a failed attempt trying to keep her stunned and kick her spell casts.

She patrols between the altar and the entrance of the cave. I killed the add in the cave entrance when she went to the altar, and then took her on alone when she patrolled back.

I used deadly poison (mainhand), and mind numbing poison (offhand) to slow her casts.

I opened with a cheap shot, and then used the restorative potion as soon as she was out of the stun. Used Blade Flurry, and Adrenaline Rush to burn her down.

The restorative potion dispels the hex, and removes the Shadow Word:Pain every 5 seconds for 30 seconds, so you need to take her down before it runs out.

Be aware that she does heal (so keep an interrupt for that) and she runs at low health. I died to an add she pulled when she ran further into the cave, but I had killed her and looted the key already.

You only need ONE key in your party to complete the quest. Even if everyone gets to loot it, you only need one to open the cage, and quest gets complete for everyone.

I did this quest tonight solo as a warlock at lvl 50, using the "Drain Tank" Affliction build (idk if thats the name but yea).
I cleared a path to the arch you go through to enter the altar area, pulled the hex priestess on her own, and lured her back a bit. Curse of Tongues helps slow down her healing, but you still need a timely fear to stop it. I was polymorphed a lot, but as long as your pet is alive, she will switch to that instead. Shadow Ward is also nice here, as it will absorb a good chunk of her DoT. Toward the end I just kept her perma feared, using curse of recklessness if she got too close to an enemy npc. Dark Pact and a Healthstone are absolutely needed, as you will probaly go OOM before she dies. I would bring consumables as well, as this was still difficult even with having her feared half the time. If your not a pet class, it'd be best to bring a friend (ideally more, the polymorph makes this brutal).After you get the key you just need to fight one maybe two guards near the tunnel. I had my pet seduce one, run through, then it disengaged by the time I reached the cage. Good luck.

Did this as a level 48 prot paladin. Took ages, got polymorped the whole time. Upside of a prot paladin, you don't really die so I just let her run out of mana and then slowly finished her off .
