You can get this quest outside Karazhan when you are honored with the Violet Eye.

He is in the library. You should see his blip on your map. It's the room with the magic-resistant eels.

The thing that sucks about this is that most parties will opt to skip all of the pulls of the eels around the guys you need to talk to in order to move on to Aran.

After you kill Aran and wait 30 minutes for a soft reset (everybody leaves the dungeon for 30 minutes), all of this trash will die, and you can talk to them. Unfortunately, you will need to kill Aran again for his journal.

If you have downed curator, this can be solo'd if you have stealth.

1. remove armor (you WILL be dying)

2. right past where the curator was there will be two arcane watchman. You will eventually want to jump off the right side of this balcony. you can scoot past these guys without them noticing you.

3. before you jump, wait for a patrolling arcane protector to pat up into the little nook you're gonna jump down into. after he turns around, it's safe to jump.

4. Watch the fire below and the little mana feeders. i jumped onto the little ledge next to the wall and safely walked around all the mobs.

5. Talk to wravien fast because the second you break stealth you will go into combat. (i got 2 shotted when i did this)

6. Congradulate yourself for a job well done.

You need to be Honored with The Violet Eye to get this chain quest.

As a paladin, most of these quests can be solod aswell. It requires either Curator or Aran cleared, altough aran is easier. When Aran is cleared, you can see the yellow quest dot on the map, and just jump & bubble to your questgiver (every one has a hallway above them that you can jump down from), turn in, get the new quest, and die :)

If you look at the prereq quest "Shade of Aran" you will see that you loot the journal from the Shade of Aran after you kill him.

This is a B quest both alliance and horde can pick it up

Looks like not any specific information, but seeing "just past Curator" in the aditional notes that were posted I'd say that just past the big ol' power ranger is a good place to start your search.

got book and tried to read it on the terrance, nothing happened. what's wrong? I know I was in the right place because it worked for other team members.

I waited an hour after the Raid and returned to Karazhan. The Trash despawned and I was able to get to all the Quest NPCs after the room where Curator stood.

I need to ask a special favor of you. As part of our research, the Violet Eye has been trying to track down Medivh's own journal.

Unfortunately, none of the agents we've sent inside have come out. Wravien was the last to be sent; see if you can find him and see about any leads on the journal.
