I can't find this npc anywhere around Nessingwary's camp. Does she patrol around somewhere?

Saving Kristen DeMeza from Ganky Rottenfist (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=18297) causes her to offer this quest. Anyone can take and complete it until she despawns, whether or not they really *did* save her. Unfortunately, I've no idea what causes her to come running into the camp asking for help, yet!

The real Kristen DeMeza is an Assistant Game Designer at Blizzard, and is apparently part of the team in charge of world events.

Yep, I was just chilling in the camp, and this little gnome came walking up. I have Heightened Senses, so I saw this UD Rogue named Gankly following her for a while. Curious as to what was going on, I stuck around to watch. She says something about a shipment of skins, and then the rogue attacked her. Easy kill, she offers a quest to give the skins to the guy literally lying down right next to her ... the same guy she was talking to just a moment before.

Time of day and if someone turns in a quest doesn't seem to tigger Kristen to spawn, but if it matters she spawned at 12:40am I only waited there for 15mins to see if she'd spawn also no one turned in a quest.

Kristen DeMeza spawns on the road a little towards zangarmarsh on a mechostrider. Dismounts and talks to Harold for a couple seconds. Ganky Rottenfist spawns stealthed unattackable behind the tent and walks up behind Kristen. Stand right behind Kristen also cause soon as Ganky Rottenfist gets to Kristen he's attackable that way you can get the tap on the mob in case anyone else is going to steal your quest. That is if you can't group together for whatever reason.

Tried to ask a GM about this event and he wouldn't give a time for when the event would come of course...
So still no idea on when or how this event triggers. Might just be completely random. And if it is a random event it will probably have a really long respawn time. I have waited there numerous times and no gnome has come....

IMO not worth waiting to do.

i just completed this quest...i had just handed in The Ultimate Bloodsport and then she appeared 2mins after that. I don't no if that trigger's the event or not?

She appeared at 01.00 game time :)

I just accepted this quest and the world server crashed. When I got back, I still had the quest but hadn't recieved skins, and outlands appeared to have been reset, so the gnome was gone. *sob*

she spawned in the camp at 5:25pm for me. she was at 6% hp before i showed up

Usually i try and see if i can camp the spot around Nesingwary's to assure that i do indeed complete this quest. Its one of the first things i do when i start questing around Nagrand.

On my recent occasion i have found myself camping the area for <2 1/2 hours upto now. When i first arrived i was just too late so i picked up all of the first-available Mastery quests and stayed in approx the same location so i could see her ride down from Zangarmarsh.

As i was finishing up the final bits of the first quests, i decided to go AFK for all of 2minutes and what do you know? She was there, on minimal health. She was dead before i could get aggro off of Gankly. It sucks that there is no accurate timescale setup for this event. Gankly 2 - 0 Arreats Alt!

She spawned at 12:15am, i noticed it was exactly after Harold did this unique emote

"Harold Lane winces when he touches the tender area around his scratch".

I say unique because all i ever saw him do was:

"Harold Lane wakes himself up snoring."
"Harold Lane begins to whistle a tune but stops abruptly and moans"
"Harold Lane looks at his friends and then grunts painfully."

and also while i was waiting, the camp was under attack by talbuks.

Through out my 1.2 hours of wait time (ish), i saw harold cycle through those 3 emotes, saw the camp invasion once, cycle through the same 3 emotes again, then finally he did his unique "scratch" emote which ensued Kristen DeMeza spawning.

edit: Apparently he also does another emote without Kristen DeMeza spawning:

"Shifting, Harold Lane moans from the pain of his thorn scratch."

which, hopefully, won't be confused for the unique scratch one O_o

i read the posts, and due to the time I was playing, i tested out the 1:00am theory. CONFIRMED: last saturday morning March 29... i went there about 12:50am...and she showed up around like 1:10-ish am.

ALSO: just this morning, Tues. April 1 (ironic).... i just happend to be turning in heart of Tusker, and stumbled upon Gankly attacking the gnome chick. this happened at 3:30am
so Gankly propably started attacking at like 3:28-ish

11:20 server time she spawned for me. She stayed there for 6-7 mins before she despawned. I had announced to the zone that she was there and several others came and completed the quest after I did while she was still up.

Had no idea this quest existed. Was flying over Nagrand to do the daily and saw an exclamation on my map over Nesingwary camp. Flew down, saw this gnome, got quest, and completed it right after. So first time seeing this quest after 2+ years of playing BC.

I logged in, at 9.30am server time to see two of them fighting away. Since I' never PvP, I took the time to look up the characters, by that time, she was dead. First time I've seen her, this with my 4th toon

I got there too late, looked up the rogue NPC on wowhead and then got smoked by two talbuk mobs. Le sigh.

I was sitting at the safari trying to figure out where I wanted to put my recent talent point, when I noticed a conversation. "Hi, Harold. I have your skins!" I looked up and saw Kristen and Gankly stealthing up behind her. I killed him without any problems (67 holy pally) and got the quest. Easy xp :D I checked my clock right before I attacked and it was 5:50am server time.

Also, right at this time Harold emotes 'Harold Lane winces when he touches tender area around his scratch'. Could be just coincidence. But thought I'd note it anyway.

she rode into camp at 11:50 am server for me, with Gankly showing up ~ 1 min later.

didnt notice if Harold emoted anything or not. She despawned at 12.

Nagrand is a HUGE zone for skinners, and the "progress text" says

"Kristen is a very nice...<cough>... person to share her skins, wouldn't you agree?"

like "<cough> or <wink>" to sarcastically draw someone's attention to something?

3:36 AM CST (GMT -6, I think), and I was riding back to the camp to turn in Windroc Mastery and there he was, already attacking her. I had to use a lot of instant casts and short casting time Scorch (67 Blood Elf mage) to finish him before he finished her, but it worked, so I guess another time to add to the list of no one mentioned it already; 3:36 AM Friday morning (and this server is CST local time.)

I rode up just as she despawned so I hung out and killed everything around the camp and waited for her. Took about 90 minutes before I saw her again. Once she was safe, she stayed for less than 5 minutes before she despawned.

Not sure what the deal with this quest is. Came back to the camp (71,40) to turn in a quest and noticed someone new there. Ended up being Kristen DeMeza with a dead undead at her feet. I didn't do anything but the quest was available to me so turned around and turned it into the the injured guy. I'm not complaining through free exp and gold.

Kristen rode up and offered the quest after being saved, but it wasn't "DeMeza," it was "Dipswitch." No idea why the name change; perhaps Kristen got married?

Wish there were more quests like this. A gnome spawned, rode up to the camp on her mechanostrider. Few seconds later I notice a stealthed rogue behind me, and realize he's not trying to kill me since he's undead (I'm horde). He ambushes the little gnome, I kill him, and this quest becomes available. Quite cool.

I was just standing aroud Nesingwary's Camp on my alt, trying to choose quest rewards 'cause I was turning in the Mastery quests and the gnome came walking up. Then, as others have said, an Undead Rogue attacked her, so I figured "Well... he's hostile... might as well kill him, maybe something cool happens." because it's my policy to kill anything in this game with a name if I'm not sure what its purpose is. ;)

Then, as others have said, she gave me a quest for saving her to turn in right at the safari. Free XP, woohoo!

I then logged out right there, hopped on my 70 main who was in Garadar, and flew her over real fast, and had her pick up & turn in the quest for a free 9 gold! (At lvl 70) Awesome!

I dunno how often she shows up, but she despawned by the time I switched back to my alt. I was astounded to find a quest I never knew about a full year after I first came to Outland.

It was cool.

I was able to complete this quest in Classic TBC. Waited around 30 min when she appeared riding. Waited for the thief to start figthing her and after killing him she gave me the quest. I did it on Mandokir Server at 23:45 more or less.

On Firemaw she spawned 12:20 server time. Dont think anyone turned in quests before. The camp was attacked by stags 10-15 min before she appeared and I didnt help.

I saw the event happen twice today, the second time was 4h after the first failed. The respawn time may be shorter, I wasn't around to see it.

I arrived at the camp in time to see the NPC die between 21:23 and 21:42 (server time). I went back 85min later and waited 20min but it didn't respawn. I went back later and I saw it respawn. It was 01:32 so 4h later. The stag event mentioned in other comments happened after the rescue, before she despawned so it doesn't look related.

After waiting around for about 45 mins for Kristen to spawn and then kill the rogue, she stayed along and offered the quest to anyone who wanders past for at least 5 minutes which was enough for me to relog three other characters and fly there (HS to Shattrath + epic flying).

Based on previous comments, I went at 50min after the hour. She spawned at 1:50pm PST for me.
