Zul'Farrak is located in Tanaris. North west of the town Gadgetzan. Be careful if heading there by your self rather than traveling with your group members because of the elite mobs out side and around the entrance. this is in my opinion one of the best/ most fun instance in the game before end game.

Zul'Farrak is not a hard dungeon by any means, but your group still has to appreciate that not paying attention and being reckless will cause many, MANY wipes. There are shortcuts that can be taken and the mobs aren't all that tough, but with the numerous amounts of patrols, it is very easy to overpull if you don't keep an eye open.

a bug: pull antu`zul with your water elemental if you are frost-mage and no adds will spawn. it will be very easy.

A little note to high level warlocks who were unlucky enough to get picked by their guildies to help them get through ZF. ;)

A very quick way for a level 70 warlock to clear the Pyramid (Divino-matic Rod) quest. Just run down straight away and spam Seed of Corruption. The mobs go down so quickly they don't have time to respawn.

Saves loads of time and is quite fun. ;) If you have a healer in your party, ask him/her to heal you and Life Tap continuously throughout the dungeon.

Therefore, guys, if you are playing a healer and thinking of inviting a high level guildie, pick a destruct warlock. ^_^ His Fel Guard makes a good tank too.

I Love Zul'Farrak because its the best place to level my 45 mage.. and The Weirdest Thing Happened To me yesterday... i was With a buddy trying to get my Zum'Rah's Vexing Cane (wich Never drops) and All The Sudden..BAM! The Ankh of Life Droped.. its the most random Trinket Ever .. (Use: Heals your target for 135 to 165.) Like Wth?! you have to be level 40 to use it.. And 150 Isnt Gonna Save ur Life =P Just Saying What i think.. it might be usefull to a Level 1-5 but Not for a 45 level ranged Character =)..

I know I might come across as an idiot but I tend to grab quests as they are offered , then sort through them later.
when ever I get a dungeon quest it drives me nuts, There is no info anywhere on the dungeon entrence .
What am I missing there has to be a way everyone else just knows where they are , could someone please clue me up on this?

I was very lucky today..2 of the 3 rare spawns got easily killed in the instance, except Dustwraith ( he wasn't spawned ).
I got the Curve-bladed Ripper whichs sells for lots of money on AH. This instance is very good for money and xp.Personally, i think this is a very nice instance for lvls 43-50

This instance proved a gold mine of good items for me, a level 46 shadow priest-back then. The Mojo Mask is a must have for shadow priests and warlocks, and the Vexing Cane is always useful for any spellcasting class, along with Jumanza Grips. These drops all drop from Witch Doctor Zum'rah. Other rare drops for other classes dropped often too.

I was very lucky one time, and a trash mob dropped https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=940 for my group. First epic I had ever seen drop back when I was 46.

omg ive been tryin to get a group for like 3 days on my rogue then i went here to check out the drops... nothin just caster stuff damn i watched my lock friend run this and it looked pretty fun to.....i would only runn this for that dagger if u r a rogue

this instance is very caster/meele items but its so hard and long and a pain if you dont got a good healer or tank.

Theres only 1 good peice of plate loot (Big bad pauldrons) so if ur warrior or pali I'd try and find a group where the OTHER tank is a bear druid or enhancement shammi, to avoid the loser quiting the group after they don't get the drop.(likewise, with Ulda, i'd try and avoid more than 1 hunter/rogue/ferral druid to avoid quitting over oilskins)

One thing that I'm going to say for the benefit for all Druids out there: The Basilisks here are immune to Hibernate and Entangling Roots (kind of ironic; the first instance where you get to use Entangling Roots has mobs that are immune to it).

Most of the loot here is leather and mail. Meaning this is a great place to get good gear as a rogue, druid, or hunter (and some shammy stuff). I am sorry but your comment is wrong as the majority of the drops are rogue/druid affiliated.

With the recently introduced refer-a-friend system offering triple experience on all quest rewards, this is a fantastic instance to do while levelling.

Taking all of the quests from https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quests=2.978&filter=si=2 and multiplying the xp by 3, the total xp gained is 188,925.

If you do these quests from the very start of level 44 (0 xp) and you somehow gain no extra xp along the way you will finish them with 2,025 xp done in level 46.

This instance really isnt as hard as it may seem. A few days ago me (a level 44 prot paladin with decent gear) and a friend (lvl 46 BM hunter with average instance gear) 2 maned this with no problems at all, all it requires is patience, carefulness and some skill.
In the whole instance i was the only one to die once, just a few seconds after the first boss since the basilisks stunned me.
All in all the best run of ZF ive ever had lol
Got absolutely no loot at all tho, shame.
I really would advise finding a friend to try and 2 man some instances, most fun ive had in WoW, me and the same hunter also 2 maned SM:lib at 35 and its great fun =D
(also makes you wonder how a group of 5 people can wipe here)

Apparently with 3.0, the 10-player raid limit has been dropped to 5-player, as my guild attempted to do a speed run for a guild event with two raid groups competing. Alas, we were not able to zone in more than five people.

If you're wanting to go through this dungeon really fast, the easiest way it to ride your mount straight to the temple. kill the executioner, then fight the huge mob that spawns afterward. The goblin must survive in this fight. Afterwards talk with the goblin and he will blow up the door to the last boss and that's it! Easy as pie. :-)

Of all the dungeons I have run, I have had the worst experiences in here. The main reason is a lot of really bad team members who don't know how to fight in instance areas. In Zul'Farrack, learning how to pull in enemies is really important for maximum survival, especially the area by the fountain. One wrong move can draw in a mob of up to 15 elites,

The best part about this place is obviously after you free the captives at the top of the temple. What ensues after can only be described as sheer chaos, reminiscent of a battle scene from Kingdom of Heaven. Mobs rushing up toward you and having to fight them all off, amazing fun. As a warlock, I set my Void on aggro and watch him kill whatever runs up the stairs. Then after all that, the captives you freed turn on you.

So my advice for this dungeon: Teammates who know what they are doing. Pull in mobs carefully and make sure they don't run. Be sure to kill the healers and healing wands first.

Here is some help for some who are confused, and a few notes:

As of now you no long seem to need the NPC "Weegli Blastfuse" in order to blow the door. Clarification needed if this is because of level, but for the level max he is unnecessary.

Also, for those who haven't done Zul'Farrak in a while, or never have at all the Stair Event is confusing. It's merely an escort event in which you and your group kill all of the incoming Trolls, and you slowly move down the stairs. The only thing special about this is that when you reach the bottom, in order to progress you must talk to and betray your NPC group. For higher levels, the boss is always at the bottem, just swarming with low level Trolls; if you believe you are (or have a group) good enough, just AoE the crap out of them then take out that boss.

Gaz'Rilla no longer needs the mallet or any item to summon.

Mounts are accepted here.

As long as your average Raid, so make sure you're ready to plunge in.

Enchanters:

Here is a good way to make a few Large Radiant Shards and maybe one or two Dream Dusts.
In my experience, normally about 3-5 Shards and 1-3 Dream Dusts.

*By the way, I highly suggesting installing the add-on "Atlas" and "AtlasLoot" for this, as they are very helpful for navigating and loot. Also, they will be very helpful throughout your gameplay, and especially farming when you get to level 80.*

Pretty good place with nice drops, Obscenely hard for its level tho. The Divinomatic troll zerg rush is crazy hard if your not prepared for it but well worth all the effort. That guy gvt2000 probably has never been here or is just too oblivious to the things around him to take notice to whats here and what this zone has to offer. As well the 3 times i've done this place i've yet to incur any buggs of any kind.

I too haven't had any bug type problems here, but this is a hard instance. My guild has also gotten some great drops in there, so I wouldn't skip this based on negative comments posted here. The only thing I do think is worth saying, is while trying to pickpocket in there, I got only 3 junkboxes from pickpocking at least 300 mobs. Maybe there's a limit for the instance per day or something, just thought it was worth mentionion.

When you talk to innkeepers about the instance they mention an old sword, the Twinblade, which was split up and hidden within the walls of Zul'Farrak. The elf smith in Gadgetzan also mentions this, as he is obviously scarred from a strike from this blade.

The good #$%^ is that this blade is attainable! It's an epic 2h sword, and you get it by attaining and combining the twin blades Sang'Thraze the Deflector (held by Antu'sul, the guys with lots of six-legged friends) and Jang'Thraze the Protector (held by Chief Ukorz). The two-hander has a decentish dps, but the fun part is the 2.50 attack speed, which makes it the perfect blend of a hard hitter and a swift striker. It also has a nasty proc, which could do some serious damage. As far as I can gather, this is one of the earliest attainable epic weapons, which should make it obsolete for those end-gamers, but if you want something to beat the time away with this is kind of a nice puzzle with a nice reward.

And time you will spend. "Where's the hatch to this?" you may ask, and I shall fend you off with one single word; droprate. Look them up, and you'll see that this may take more than a few Zul'Farrak-runs. Hell, it will probably take more that a few scores of runs - but I believe the reward is worth it.

zf if great instance. i duno about drops, but there is a thing called "odds" and sometimes they're for yah, and other times they'renot. if yah don't get good stuff the first time, try again. and the carrot thing, its good. i don't give a crap about the percentages, but think about it. you keep it, you go faster. you don't keep, you are slower. simple. plus, this instance was made for exp. even if your the lowest guy in group, you still get around 30 thou exp whole thing, with massive troll attack part. and for level of instance, its about 44+, though the best group would be tank, healer, AoE guy (for massive troll attack part), and some DPS, with average lvl 46-47.

make sure to stay up on top of temple when teh masses of trolls attack, so you don't aggro more, and make sure to kill every one in that area before starting that part. also, make sure to go PvP BEFORE you take on srg bly. for some reason, if you are pvp when you attack him, the other alliance guys you rescued help you, and if your not pvp, you havta kill them as well. try it out.

I did this quest with:

Level 49 Hunter
Level 50 Druid, Who later left and was replaced with a level 47(i think)Pally
Level 45 Warlock
Level 45 Mage
Level 43 Hunter (myself)

When the pally came we just had him heal, not tank. I realize how crazy this sounds, but me, the hunter, and the warlock all used our pets to tank. It worked out okay, actually. I only had to rez my pet 3-4 times.

Sadly, was the one who f*cked up the most. =_= I didn't die as often as the mage (who kept running ahead for whatever reason) but I got people killed all over the place. I have a tendency to poke things, and in Zul'Farrak that explodes in your face easily. Here's a few tips:

In the room with all the scarabs and that martyr, DO NOT ATTACK ANY OF THE SCARABS. There are other, safer places to attack them. If you attack one, all the ones within range will attack. Since I had the scarab quest, I ended up attacking. Nobody died in my case, but we were lucky.
Eventually, you'll get to a room where there are a ton of shallow graves with the 'open' gear symbol on them when you mouse over. DO NOT CLICK THEM. I have no idea what happens, fortunately, because I was warned not to touch them. I'm betting it's unpleasant, though, and probably involves zombies, if the next 'trap' is any indication...
In the shallow grave room, there's a green troll with a chest next to him. DO NOT BE FOOLED. If you go into his little room thinger, he freaks out, turns red, and summons about a billion zombies. Inside the chest (it has a weird name) we found only silver, so no, it's not worth dying.
When you're freeing the prisoners, be ready before you free them. A ton of trolls will appear at the bottom of the stairs and come up in waves. Fortunately, all the elite guys in the cage will help you (the trolls are not elite with a few exceptions). It's not too hard, but be ready.
Once you've freed the prisoners, gone down the stairs, and killed the elites at the bottom, DO NOT TALK TO THE PRISONERS RIGHT AWAY. Wait untill you are totally ready. When you talk to them, they will all go aggro on you. I @#$%ed up here.
When you're going for the cheif, there are basilisks and big snakey things around the corners, out of sight. Be ready for them.

I'm actually usually pretty intellegent. ^_^'' But curiosity killed the cat here.

This is the straightforward way to do the quest, there may be other ways where you avoid the fight, but this way lets you take down a full 8 bosses including the Zul'Farrak Chieftain behind the locked gate.

1. Clear the courtyard area around the steps. Your party will get feared and they'll add into the fight later if you don't kill them now.

2. Go up the steps and kill the Executioner. Someone in the party takes his key.

3. Whoever has the key opens the cages to start the Event.

4. Stay BACK behind Bly's group and let them do most of the fighting (3-4 waves of nonelite trolls with a few elites). ::some ppl say go /pvp and their healer will heal your party, tho even if this works it's not necessary::

5. All you have to do is keep Bly and the goblin alive, and make sure to handle any aggro on your healers. It's best not to use AoE of any kind (even warrior's debuff shout), just single-target DPS until that phase of the fight is over. Casters and healers can break combat and mana up if they run oom.

6. Follow Bly's group down the stairs and help them take out the 2 troll bosses (one of them drops the Big Bad Voodoo Mask). Do NOT talk to Bly or any of the other NPCs after this fight.

7. Talk to the Goblin FIRST. He runs away and opens the gate leading back to the troll chieftain (who drops Big Bad plate shoulders).

8. Now talk to Bly before his group teleports (after 2-3 minutes they port out). If the dwarf priestess is still up take her out first.

9. That's it. Make sure everyone gets the Divino-matic Rod before leaving.

After the event on the stairs wait a bit till the group you freed starts to hearth, then talk to bly. The rest will leave and you will only have to fight bly. Worked twice for me so far, try it out and respond!

Im a casual gamer who can do an instance maybe once a week on the weekend, so i would like to ask how long would this take with a group, and how long with a booster?

ZF is one of the few instances where you can actually mount. If you don't have a lot of time to play and like to skip mobs, I suggest mounting through mobs and leave combat once you are knocked off(e.g. vanish, feign death). Although if you have the time, I really don't suggest doing this. However, the ability to mount is quite useful if you are in the instance just for quests. This ability will save you a lot of time, though the chance of death is fairly high. Hope this helps.

great instance, great drops, especially for warriors and casters. sweet epic 2 hander wen u combine the 2 swords. it says this instance is low to mid 40s but if thats ur group ull probably wipe, second boss. u should do it mid to high 40s, its hard.

Even though Zul'Farrak is listed as a 43-46 instance, you can still enter it with a level 35 toon.

this dungeon is easier because u are allowed to mount up so higher lvs can get faster money by getting a bigger aggro
