Fairly simple quest, the dragon you summon will fear much like Onyixa, but other than that it's a very simple fight. Also you need 35 shards to break the egg, this does not seem to be mentioned in the quest text.

Here's some detailed information about the dragon fights for this quest:

There are a total of four dragons that you can summon for this quest - Rivendark, Obsidia, Furywing, and Insidion. Any one of these four dragons will drop the Dragon Teeth quest item needed to finish the quest. I felt that Rivendark was the easiest of the four, so I would recommend killing him first. However, all four dragons are fairly easy - all of them can be killed in a reasonable time frame by a group of three people or more (tank, dps, healer)

Rivendark can be summoned at (27, 64).
Obsidia can be summoned at (34, 54).
Furywing can be summoned at (66, 14).
Insidion can be summoned at (62, 7).

All four dragons are nearly identical. They are basically Onyxia clones tailored for groups of size 3-5 people. They all possess the following abilities:

Melee Attack - hit the tank for about 450-600 damage
Cleave - standard cleave attack
Flame Breath - frontal cone attack for about 600 fire damage
Tail Swipe - knockback effect from the tail of the dragon (similar to Onyxia's). Our fury warrior kept getting knocked backwards right off the ledge.
Bellowing Roar - AoE fear, similar to Onyxia's

Along with the afore mentioned abilities, each dragon possess exactly one unique ability:

Rivendark - casts Corruption on random party members; identical to a warlock's Corruption
Obsidia - casts Hellfire; identical to a warlock's Hellfire. The Hellfire was hitting for about 500 fire damage a tick.
Furywing - casts Wing Buffet on the tank; similar to Firemaw's Wing Buffet. This ability reduces the threat on primary target by a significant amount and knocks that target back. It's not a big deal if the tank loses aggro, since Furywing is not immune to taunt.
Insidion - casts a stacking Flame Buffet on the entire party; similar to Firemaw's Flame Buffet. This ability increases fire damage taken by the party and stacks a large number of times. Since Insidion's only fire attack is Flame Breath, the only person really getting hit with fire damage should be the tank. Thus, Flame Buffet stacking on the rest of the group shouldn't really matter.

For loot, each dragon drops a green or blue item, as well as a scale unique to that dragon (lootable by everybody in the party). If you obtain a scale from each of the four dragons, you can create this item https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=31942#M0z.

This quest can sometimes bug. My group and I went to summon Obsidia and the egg popped and a whelp came out but everything instantly despawned. I submitted a GM ticket and was told that this is a known issue and it is being looked into. But they will not refund your shards. =(

Both the scales, and the dragon's teeth quest item are lootable by party members who are not on/not eligable for the quest. So they can bank em till they can turn it in.

Obsidia seems still bugged. wasted 35 shards, the dragon didn't come down, already the second time bugged. I still haven't kill that one.

Appears you need to do Bombing Run ( https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11010 ) and Wrangle some Aether Rays ( https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11065 ) before you will see this quest.

The dragons in this quest do not drop an Apexis Crystal.

From my tests so far, Rivendark and Furywing are both immune to fire spells. There might be a good chance that all 4 dragons are immune to fire spells.

There is a nest at these coordinates that looks like the ground has been burnt all to hell, with eggs in the middle of it (thus no decimal locations needed). Takes 35 apexis shards to spawn the dragons.

It’s recommended to have 4 people in the group. Quest is 3 mannable, with a specced healer of course, because they hurt. With 4 people in group, 1 healer, 2 dps, and a tank, should be simple.

Dragon's Abilities:

Melee Attack – 400 – 700 on Plate
Cleave – Normal Cleave - Skill that deals Melee damage (weapon damage) plus a small bonus to two targets.
Flame Breath - FRONTAL Cone of Cold Like effect for about 500-700 fire damage – So stand on the side him if you’re not tanking. NOT Behind because…
Tail Swipe – Knockback.
Bellowing Roar – An AOE Fear – Same as ony’s… No distance will neglect you from getting feared.
FIRE IMMUNITY! - Hey, they are dragons, wtf you expect?

Dragon's Special Abilities:

Rivendark: Corruption - Yes, warlock spell, Usually applied to tank, and doesn’t seem to tick for a lot.
Obsidian: AOE Hellfire - Short range, seems to hit for approx 400 – 650.
Furywing: Wing Buffet - Put on tank - Knocks down his Agro A LOT, and knocks him back.
Insidion: Flame Buffet - Puts a Debuff on the whole party to increase fire damage taken. His only fire damage is his flame breath, so don’t stand infront of him, and you’ll be fine.

These Dragons are Standard Spank and Tanks. Get someone who can hold agro, and mind your own, and it’s quite easy. Recommend having a pot or 2 if you’re a dmg caster class. Used a potion and a mana emerald on my mage, as well as evocate. Just a long battle, not hard. Healer looked like his mana never went below half.

Alliance Watch: Very High – Many Quests in this area for the Skyguard and Ogri’la. Faction. I ran into a ton, all questing, so they didn’t bother me. They also have quests in this area, so odds of attack are low, but hey, who can predict human nature.

Quest Rank of Ease: Average – Decent group, it isn’t bad at all. Average Group quest. Mobs are long winded for a 4 man, approx 3-6 min fight.

Does anyone know if these Dragons are kite-able to Ogril'la? I tried but I got feared into many enemies and couldn't keep the DoTs up on Rivendark. Didn't wanna waste 35 more shards to try again.

The dragons were cake with a 4-man group. They do very little damage, but do watch out for knockback since they're all near cliffs. You could probably do these with 3 people if you had to, but it would be slow.

Solo'd this and the other quests as a 70 BM hunter 51/10, did not have to revive pet on this one, got lucky and pulled aggro a few times and tanked it while i healed up pet enough :)

Easily soloable 80 T7.5 Elemental Shaman, And counts towards the BEM Quest achievemnt, Just had my Earth Elemental Totem and Hero and spam LB.

Um...how do you pull these guys as a druid in flight form? They don't say in combat with you while in flight form, and won't follow you to the ground. And if you shift out to get them to stay in combat you fall and die.

I went after Rivendark.

Did not even break a sweat as a solo 80 hunter.

Was my last quest for needed for "On the Blade's Edge" achievement, and it did count.

easily soloable as a lvl 80 disc priest. my bubbles absorbed 100% of the damage the dragon did and every fear was resisted

Soloed as a t8 rogue, got me to fairly low hp (~10%) but got it down. No consumables used.

Easy to solo as an 80 Holy priest, just keep your bubble up and it should last till the Cooldown is up again :P

Even with standing in hellfire it lasts that long cause of all the misses and not much dmg.

Bugged today. I summoned Rivendark as an 80 hunter. However, he seemed to still be in flight while in combat.

This eventually caused my pet, which had aggro, to fall through a 'hole' in the map near the cliffside edge of the perch and both despawned.

It did this a couple of times and reappeared no problem when I called my pet back, but kept resetting its health every time. Eventually the pet fell too far and despawned, so my advice is to pet classes...drag him well away from the ledge or the same might happen ;)

Would have been my last quest for blade's edge as well...ah well, back to collecting shards :P

Uh...I know it's nob question but, how excatly can I do it solo?

The crystal will act like the small one in daily, by channeling 4 color pots.

so far it's easy, but it will cause u a 5sec slow effect.

And I did 5 times, still won't be able to do it on time....if there is a time limit on every step.

So, all I got is guardian.......

Did this as an 80 Frost Mage with just over 5K GS - buffed my Elemental (AI, Dampen, and Focus Magic, and myself with AI, Ice Armor, and Dampen). He aggro'd on me before I could send Ele forward - popped Mirrors and Trinks and IV, and Frostbolt'd like heck. When my Ele/Mirrors died, I popped Cold Snap for another Ele, Ice Blocked so he could get aggro, and continued. Even accidentally grabbed an add, and we made it through easily.

Compared to the Sons of Gruul fights, this is a cakewalk.

Just went after Furywing and Insidion as a Levle 78 BM Hunter, w/ a 77 Worm Pet. Not even a challenge.

The Sons of Gruul were crushing my pet in 2-4 swings, whereas these guys couldn't put more than a 5% dent in it's health pool. Had to Feign Death once on Furywing due to a Wing Buffet, but otherwise, was no challenge at all.

Gear clearly wasn't a factor, as this toon is mostly in greens/crafted blues. Just keep Mend Pet up, and let loose really.

The nearest perch is directly east of the camp where quest was picked up.

U only need to do 1 dragon to complete the quest. Which means only 35 shards needed : )

Just killed all four Dragons with my hunter ( lvl 80 Beast Mastery) and my pet Peaches a lvl 80 Chimera. Piece of cake.

when you have to use 35 shards to summon these dragons, thats 35 x 2 = 70 shards total. Thats hours upon hours to do this quest, sure it might be easy to do, but there are people that want their loremaster, and collecting 70 shards across hours for a fight that will last 60 seconds is a touch much. The eggs should not cost to break. damnit blizz

Ye might have noticed, too, the dragon scales. I hear they be good fer making powerful cloaks if ye get one o' each o' their scales. And if yer not happy with the cloak ya get, I'll be willing ta trade ye an apexis crystal fer it.

I killed all for dragons and did the other two 5 person Ogri'la quests with the same 4 person group; Pally, Druid, Rogue, and Hunter. We all had reasonable gear, nothing too exciting (I'm probably the best geared with 7 epic and the rest blue).

After every kill, all of us had full health, took about 3+ minutes per to take them down, but nothing too exciting.

As ye've flown around, ye must have noticed the dragons above. I trust ye haven't fallen victim ta their rage. Help us put an end ta it, <name>!

Rivendark and Obsidia lord over this terrace, while Insidion and Furywing rule the skies over yon terrace ta the northeast. Each has a perch on their respective domains. I be wondering if ye and yer friends will go ta one, <lad/lass>, break open an egg and attract the dragon down.

Bring me some teeth as proof. Ta rule the skies, it's either them or us.
