According to Wowhead the drop rate for this recipie is low, but I have seen it drop quite often. It only sells for about 10g on my server (frostwolf), while other Greater Protection Potions sell for much much more. The usefulness of this recipe should become even more apparent in BC.

Ummm i mean these are extremly rare and all people on spinebreaker should buy them at the AH if its under 50g, then its a steal.... well untill i get my epic mount anyway.

Just bought this for 15g on Eonar.

I waited the two sellers out until they lowered the price. It worked :)

AMAZINGLY I got 2 of these from a pair of Shadowmages @ Noxious Glade...I mean a pair stood together ! I hear they have a 1% chance of dropping.

BUT I sold them for 10g each @ IF...someone even tried to knock me down but now I read they go for much more?

I got this at the auction house for 90 silver. Got a second one at auction house for 8 gold. Selling both of them for about 50 bid, 70 gold BO each.

I paid 10g for this on blackrock, simply beacuse it might be usefull in the future.

I don't really see any need for it at the moment so imo 10g is the right price.

I can't really believe this recipe only has a 1% drop rate. I go to Fungal Vale in EPL off and on to farm Invader Scourgestones for AD rep, I usually only stay for an hour, 2 hours max, and I have yet to leave this area without having that recipe in my bags.

Again, I was in Fungal Vale yesterday for no more than 25 minutes and got this recipe to drop from roughly the 6th shadow mage that I killed, definetly higher than a 1% drop rate.

...then I won't tell ya I got the recipe on my first Shadowmage kill. :). Sold it for 80 Gold.

I was just wandering around exploring EPL, ended up in The Noxious Glade, killed a Shadowmage, and got this on the first kill.

Now, if I could only get those damn Dark Casters/Summoners to drop the Wizardweave patterns...

can a rogue do anyhting in there? i went in stealthed and suddenly! i get knocked out of stealth by an invisble ghost. then mocked by all nearby mobs.. any rogues with ideas?

I just wanted to confirm that the Shadowmages in the Fungal Vale area of EPL drop these. I was able to spend about 20 minutes killing and got this recipe.

I got 2 in 3 hours in the Noxxious Glade, just sold 1 for 30 gold in under half an hour, gonna try 50g on the 2nd one.

Over the course of about 150 shadowmage and dark adepts ive got like 8.

These are anywhere from 75g - 100g on my server currently (with the potion itself being upwards of 10g per on raid day) and I got really lucky and had one drop on my 3rd kill of Dark Adepts near 84,39. Been farming them since to try to get more to put on the AH, haven't had one drop. You do get quite a bit of Runecloth and insignias though.

It's an easy farm, I've been farming it on my 57 mage whenever I have downtime with no trouble. When you get lucky and get spawns of Dark Adepts you can just pull 4 at once and aoe them down. It's worth noting that Dark Adepts and Shadowmages share spawns with Crypt Slayers Crypt Slayer, so if you run in and find only Crypt Slayers make sure you kill them so there's a chance that the mobs that can actually drop the pattern spawn next. (Another note for mages, Crypt Slayers don't have a ranged attack so you can also aoe them down easily as well).
