I have done this quest several times now on different characters, and I can now usually complete it with 15 to 30 seconds remaining on the timer (assuming it's not bugged.) Here is a map of the route I use (I go the counterclockwise direction, but either way works.)

I start with cantering (yellow) until I am at 80 or so fatigue, then trot (green) back down to 25 or so; after this I can usually canter the rest of the way back to the tent (I jump off the road out of ironforge at the nearest opportunity, it only hits for about half my life) without getting exhausted.

This is probably not the only way, and I havn't done the math to see if galloping is actually more efficient (though I suspect it is not!) If you have a better route, share it! :-)

The easiest way to complete this quest in the allotted time, is to travel around the outer ring of Ironforge at a canter, dismiss the 'racing ram' buff when all objectives are complete, and use your usual mount to run back to the questgiver.

After you;ve gone to every checkpoint you can dismount the ram and mount your own mount if it helps. If you have an epic land mount it helps alot and also, I would use entropicdragon's route.

I'm a druid and after I'd tagged all the banners, I galloped the ram until exhausted, then shifted to travel form. Since the shapeshift is instant, you lose no time that way. Also, I jumped off the road down the mountain & made it back to the guy with no problem.

Edit: for the 2009 Brewfest (patch 3.2.2), you don't need to return to the questgiver before time runs out. You only need to tag all four locations for the quest to be considered "complete" in your log. Once it is complete, you can turn it in at your leisure.

You can get around the entire of IF if you canter. Just make sure you don't tire your mount out before you leave IF. The last 100 meters to the quest hand-in and be laggy and you'll want as much extra time as possible. Had a emo moment this morning when I had heaps of time but due to heaps of people being at brewfest, I lagged and failed the quest. I've had a look at entropicdragon's map and I've added mine. Not sure who's would be faster but I think a full cicular route would be faster. I'll give it a try later on and let you know.

After You Have "Barked" You can dis-mount the ram and get on your own.. alot more helpful

Here is the best and safest way to do it.... enter IF thru the left door.. when your inside turn to the right just enough to bark outside bank. after you have done that turn to the left and go into mystic ward. after you have Barked there head thru The forlorn cavern, into the Hall of explorers, thru tinker town. and right when you have barked in the Military ward.. dismount the ram by clicking on the buff. get on your own mount (that is if your over lvl 40) and head thru the right IF Exit.. jump down the mountain but do it slowly so you dont die. then just run up to barleybrew or thunderbrew and turn it in!

This quest is incredibly hard to complete if you're lagging, or if your machine has a low spec like mine. Try to set all your video settings to the lowest possible for this quest, and you should be able to complete it.

Oh, and for those who complete the quest by using their own mount, i can confirm that that no longer works. You have to complete the quest on the ram, or you'll fail the quest.

I do this easily with around 1 minute left by using Canter (yellow buff) and clicking every 2 seconds to keep myself in Canter until I'm in the Hall of Explorers or a bit before that, then stop until the debuff stack goes down to around 20 and immediately go back to Canter. By the time you get out of Ironforge you should have 60 stacks and just Gallop (red buff) off the cliff and hand it in! My record is 1 minute 12 seconds left.

I tried both pacing it and beating the crap out of the poor thing. Very frustrating to do. I'ma keep trying till I yank my hair out or succeed whichever comes first..

O yer this quest seems to nto work on the aman thul realm (poor me) luckily i still managed to get my gnomes there brewfest hats! :D

Not that difficult once you get a hold of it. And the greatest part is you can redo this quest everyday.

It's quite frustrating the first few times, but its one of the best repeatable quests for getting the mount once you have the hang of it.

As soon as you have the mount, head up the hill behind the tent and strait into IF, don't bother riding out of camp and up the ridge...it will take too long. Secondly, stick to keeping your mount at a canter most of the time, and head in a strait circle around IF, you shouldnt get the ram tired until you reach the exit of IF if you keep that speed. Then just jump down the mountain right of the exit and tada.

The way I always manage to do it is to bolt up to ironforge after taking a short rest at the apple bucket behind the tents, the debuff usually lags a bit and works 3-5 seconds aftwerwards if you're going at full speed, the second you hit the gate drop down to green and let the fatigue drop a bit, around 25 go back up to yellow and stay on yellowuntil you reach the second, go green to the next then yellow again, you should have around 50 fatigue and plenty to go full speed back to the tents from the gate provided you jump off the cliff hit the apple bucket behind the tent.

This is one of the easies quests I've come across,

Just keep your beat at like 80ish

When you've done all 4 parts,

Just dismount and get on your normal 60 or 100% mount and head back to the Guy,

Heck, I still made it back on my Rental Ram with about 20 seconds to spare

You know if you dismount you fail, this is too easy, I got 40 seconds to spare, just keep it yellow, go sometimes on superspeed but remember the fatigue.

Worked first time for me about 30 hours ago, has not worked since so only way I can get tix on Exodar is the barrel pickups, not getting enough tix with just that so please fix!

Tried the recommended fix, did not have any failed quests in my log so that did not work so must be some other issue but I cannot pick it up again so far.

All you have to to is ride by each of the flags... you will automatically "bark" for the brewery - you don't need any slash commands. You don't even need to slow down (unless your ram is fatigued). It certainly isn't bugged on Aerie Peak.

My apologies - I had no problems obtaining the quest, or "barking" at the flags, which prompted the message above. However, each time I tried the quest I ran out of time just outside the gates of Ironforge on the return leg. I thought this was my fault, until tonight - my 5th attempt using a second character, I not only made it back but clicked on the initiator and dismounted IN THE TENT right aside of him - and still got the "failed" time-out. Reported to Blizzard GM, no response as yet. So it either is bugged, or it genuinely sucks!

Just got response from GM - says it's working correctly, you have to turn in while still on the (moving) ram - which I tried before dismounting. So I guess we can conclude that these quests genuinely do suck.

Okay, I read other forums and managed to finish this quest. The thing is you have to return to the questgiver before time runs out. The quick and easy way to do it is you go to IF and keeping the buff "in the yellow." Do not crisscross the radius of the circle, instead hang a right and go around counter-clockwise starting with the military ward and ending at the bank. Do not let the buff get to 100 or the RAM will slow to a crawl. You can let it run in the green for a couple of seconds to cool down the fatigue. Once outside of IF again, start going down the hill and jump down to the Brewfest area and you should have your tickets.

ok i did this yesterday and it worked for me but today i tried it and it doesnt work you just have to run to the banners.

its bugged so might as well go level until its fixed

We need to get the word out about the Barleybrews at Brewfest. You need to shout at the flags outside the bank, in the Military Ward, in the Hall of Explorers and in the Mystic Ward. I'll make things easy though, I'll lend you some racing ram reins and a racing ram for 4 minutes. Use the reins to let him go, but try not to tire him out.
