He's got an AoE fear and adds. Don't bother trying to solo.

Remember to use your AoE silence racial when you see him casting it. Just try to remind everyone not to use all of them at once. Keep him from fearing and you'll be fine.

He's in the building in the middle way down in the basement.

You can pull the sides with the Blood Elf racial Mana Tap or any other ranged spell, always worked for me. Use it on the caster and run out of sight then it'll come to you.

I've found it easiest to fight him down in his room, so if you don't interrupt his fear it's most likely you don't run out and aggro respawns.

He's in the basement as mentioned above. He has 2 apoc guards and 2 skel warrior guards with him, 18-19's. So dont charge the room....not healthy. Did it with a 19 Lock, 19 Priest and my 18 Pally.

If you wanna get the quest to kill Dar'Khan you have to first do "The Traitor's Shadow" (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9161).

Then you it leads to "The Twin Ziggurats" which I found kinda hard to solo (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9176).

That should bring ya to this current quest ^.^ I had to find this out myself I don't know if it is listed on www.wowhead.com/tbc or not.

I soloed Dar'Khan at lvl 24, as a full protection paladin. I pulled out the two adds (with minions) using Exorcism and Mana Tap and killed them first, then attacked Dar'Khan. I had 1k health including a PW:F, used a +4 stamina/spirit food buff, Scourgebane Draught (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=22779), one-hander and shield from Blackfathrom Depths. During the fight I used a Minor Rejuvenation Potion. It is perfectly possible, but of course my high level made it a lot easier.

Nice rewards but like all world quests that require a group it can be an absolute pain to get a group for. It was fine just after release but now you can spend a lot of time just waiting around for someone who needs the quest to log on. One of those awful decisions, skip it and don't get the rewards for all the work so far, wait around for an hour or two and hope someone shows up or waste an hour coming back later and hope someone is around.

Did it with 4 pallys and a hunter (All lvl 19-21 ish but I, one of the pallys, was lvl 17). Two of the pallys ran in and concecrated. The battle ended with myself and the hunter alive and I just rezzed everyone.

20 pally and 20 druid did it with some difficulty. Had to use lay on hands. After a few interrupts you can't keep him from fearing you, so the latter part of the fight gets a bit hectic. It's doable with two though.

Killed him solo as 24 Warlock. Pulled the 2 Necromancers by him solo first, than kited him around the level reapplying Corruption and CoA every time they wore off.

He would occasionally stop to cast Shadowbolt or Fear, but LoS would always be in his way so he never got them off on me.

I was able to solo this with a level 20 Troll Hunter. I just cleared a path out of Deatholme to The Dead Scar and kited him along that border where there are no mobs. Not terribly difficult, just run far away whenever he tries to shadowbolt or corruption. Easy to outdistance.

This is a very hard quest to solo, but i did it at lvl 24 with a blood elf mage.

You need to make sure that you take out all the guards before you attack dar'khan, or they will attack you if he manages to use fear on you.

I went in with my lvl 18 paladin with help from a lvl 25 warlock. The battle was close a couple times but we won in the end. Be careful on the way out as the guards may have respawned. I was killed by the pair on the stairs as I was leaving the building. The two handed sword is a great reward for a starting out retribution paladin. Almost as good as the Blood-Tempered Ranseur you get from the Second Trial chain.

Here's a little trick I learned, Have some caster or someone with a ranged attack pull the Skely guards, and then solo Dar'Khan in the room. You might also wanna clear the entire Ziggy, because of fear.

Solo'd as a lv 20 warlock. Unless I'm mistaken, you can pull Dar'Khan without even worrying about the two necromancers on his sides. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Anyway, once I pulled him out, I just dotted him up with Corruption (it helps if you're affliction spec and have it as an instant cast spell) and Curse of Agony, then ran circles through the area. If you stay outside of his melee range consistantly (use your VW to attain this range), then he'll stop to cast shadowbolt or fear rather frequently, which is usually interrupted from line of sight. Just be careful, as you might occasionally get too far ahead of him, and he'll turn around and run the other way. Again, use your VW if you can to get away. Use sacrifice if necessary.

*note* DO NOT forget to use your offhand orb on this guy! I did, and I was barely able to kill him before the respawns began. I don't know if the ability is ranged, instant, or how long the cast timer is, but get it off in any way you can. 500 damage is a LOT of damage at lv 20.

He is located in the basement of "tower of the damned" which is 32,82 in the ghostlands, or if you don't have coors. Located at the "H" in Deatholme. There are 2 guards at each entrance, one of them pats. then you go down the ramp and there is another guard that pats the end of the ramp. Then you can go left or right, either way there is a guard necromancer with a summon skely. You might have to kill both depending on ur level. after that part you go down the last ramp into the last room. THere is Dar'Khan Drathir, an elite and 2 deatholme Necromancers with skelys. You prolly want to pull the necros first 1 at a time with ranged atk. Dar does a Fear, Shadow Bolt, Corruptoin and melee atks.

Duo'd it with a disc priest and prot paladin, both level 19 with fairly average gear. Wasn't too hard, just make sure to clear adds first, and the paladin should be ready to grab aggro off the priest when he fears.

Two-manned him with a 20 Hunter and 19 Rogue. Hunter's pet tanked while the Rogue kicked for spell interrupts and we used the Swords to do 500 damage and silence him. It was tricky but doable.

lvl 18 BE warlock and lvl 18 BE Hunter. Cleared everything, then we had the pets to tank him and nuked from above the stairs to avoid fear, and when they lost agro or when he feared we kited him around the place. We succeeded on 3rd try.

Did this on a 20 pally, with another 19 pally. I was the tank, while the level 19 healed me. I pulled with Exorcism, and got the adds quite easily. Simple for 2 pally's as if healer is out of mana, you can just heal yourself.

As the blood elf, i only used mana tap once and let him spell me. The rewards are nice, i think they are worth the time.

Although not easy, this guy is soloable by hunters. As a lvl 20 hunter and after a couple of attempts I managed to get him down. First off clear the bottom and middle room (do it quick, as you'll need the time before respawns come). Just tank with the pet and mend pet should keep pet up. At a point (for me it was around 50% health) he began to fear the pet. He still attacked it though, but pet couldnt generate aggro so after a while he went for me. Just kite him around in the middle room, keeping serpent sting on him and use immolation trap whenever off CD, and he should go down before respawns.

Soloed him at level 23 as a enhancement spec troll shaman. I cleared out his adds in the tower. I equipped the orb and used it at the beginning, then put my shield back on and threw down my tremor, healing steam, and searing totems. Just tank and spank basically, time your earth shock and use it at the end of his shadow bolt casts, I dodged his corruption by tanking him by the stairs and going around to the side when he started casting it. Only used a minor mana potion, and average gear for the level, only my gloves and ring where blue, and no enchants.

Duo'd this. 19 ret pally and 19 holy priest. I tanked him facing perpendicular to the stairs at the bottom, with him between the posts, so that I could run around the post behind me to LoS his corruptions and shadow bolts. That worked like a charm, and for the most part, the only spells that landed were the ones he cast while we were feared.

Since there were only two of us, we did eat a lot of fears and it was a close fight, but it's definitely doable.

duoed at 19, 2 BE hunters. Used our Torrents, and the orbs (from the previous quest). Killed him, but one of us died (mostly due to stupidity). Not too hard, just keep the pets top on aggro and he'll die before he can kill them both.

I didn't use the magic sword, as I sold it before heading here. I hate melee. :/
Anyway, What I did was:

Clearing the level just before Dar'Khan's room, the two necromancers and the single patrolling Wailer/Eye of Dar'Khan.

I then pulled Dar'Khan alone, the adds didn't aggro all 3 times I tried, assured I had enough aggro on him, and sicced my pet on him.

From there on, it was simply running in a circle, keeping him out of distance, as his biggest threat was his Melee, and spamming my Arcane Shot and Serpent Sting. I also tried to use Immolation Trap, but I simply forgot after 30seconds. Meh. Anyone doing this everytime the cooldown is up, would probably dish out better dps.
The spells would almost always be LOS'ed.

Soloed as 21 hunter. Used pet to gain initial aggro, let loose concussive shot, sepent sting, multi-shot. Used the corners for LoS on his fear, corruption, and shadow bolts. No pots, and pet had about 60% health remaining.

Actually, this was rather easy as a 22 warlock. First, I cleared the entire complex of the trash mobs. The mobs in the room with him can be picked off in groups of two without aggroing him. Once both groups are done, I sent in the VW.

Used the sword on him while he was casting a shadow bolt, dropped all three dots and started the Grand Kite Event. Ran in circles around the building, reapplying dots as we crossed. VW never got below 70%, and mine never went below 25%.

He got one fear off and a couple of shadow bolts total in the entire fight.

soloable as a 20 pally. first make sure you skills are up to date, I have good gear from AH, no twink gear. The most important rule for soloing this DON'T LOOT THE MOBS before you kill him, bodies on the ground = no fast respawn. Bring couple potions, use BoW, and when he stops to cast run out of LoS and bandage. Pain in the egh!! yes, but doable. Got tired of waiting for groups. Happy Hunting

Just solo'd this as a 18 Hunter on Darrowmere:

1. clear all the adds outside of his room (don't loot)
2. carefully pull the adds in his room w/o pulling him
3. as a hunter i set down a immolation trap for the extra dmg, turn my pets growl off and open w/ arcane, and multi shot , sting, make pet attack dar'khan and just run around the room LoS and readding dots as they fade. this can easily be done by both hunter and lock bring a couple mana pots and bandages just incase you get low on mana or get hit with one of his spells.
4. loot and enjoy you're new blues

First time I killed him on maybe 16-17. It was like an accident, I was running away, coming back, he was in obstackles and so on. About half an hour. Now I'm really ready to kick his S, with an Orb, BUT I CAN DO NOTHING TO GET IT EQUIPED! (The Orb) - it's on a panel, inventory screen, but when I try to use it - "it must be equipped". What am I doing wrong? How do I make this mfg orb work? =(((

draw the mobs from left first (recommand mage sheep the necromancer) then the right, after that, 2 any class will take him.

though i'm done with mage and hunter with cat as pet. i'm a priest, but we DPSed him.

you realy have to look out if you do this with 2 or 3 players
this guy is really strong if you can't get a group of 4 or 5 players be sure to have a high level tank and maybe a healer with you.
together with those armaments you got from the prereq and some good DPS or burst damage(mage) you can take him
but look out for the two skelety things on the side of his room

I have a lvl 17 BE hunter who just finished this quest. There are two of these rewards i could use. i have a bow with 10.9 Dps, this bow has 14.4 DPS, and i have tranquillen flamberge, 10.1 DPS, 2 int and 3 str. This 2h sword is also much better. As a hunter i range a lot, and if the mob ever gets close, i will happily go melee on him. Any suggestions on either sword or bow?

This sword is a good twink sword imo. All rewards is good! And very good if you go twink. But if you will continue play on it, you will change it very soon, ofc depends on what reward you took. For example i did with my Paladin, Got Onyx Claymore on lvl 21. Pwn aswell.

I just finished this a few hours ago - GET A GROUP. I got in a group with 2 others, a 19 and a 17 - and got destroyed. He's in a room with 2 necros, who have minions, level 20 or so. But the main enemy has THOUSANDS of health (well, that's a guess, but A LOT, I later regrouped with 5 others and it still took us all we had to take him down). He fears, he had shadowbolt, and his necros have shadowbolt as well. This is a very hard quest, in my opinion =/

Did it will only a little difficulty with a 19 paladin, 3 hunters 16-19, and me, a 17 lock.

how stupid, Im a lvl 17 pally and I got a lvl 70 character to help me do this quest real quick. Im almost to where Dar'Khan is with my lvl 70 friend, and all of the sudden the game auto logs me out. I try to log back in and it says "You Have Used Up all of your prepaid game time, please purchase more time." I was planning on paying for another month the very next day. Now I have to go buy some time and try to find another high level person to help me out.

Did this just a few minutes ago with a 19 lock (me) a 17 mage and an 18 priest. Racial pull Dar'Khan and lead him up the steps into one of the rooms so when he fears you don't all go running down the steps into the mob. Voidwalker tanked just fine with the priest healing it.

No sweat.

You don't need a 70 friend to do it, I'm sure there are a ton of people that need to finish the quest so group up and have a bit of a challenge why don't you.

lvl 18, 19 paladins. lvl 20 warlock. us three took him down.
lvl. 18 paladin (me) tanks. i just let rip with a 2h.
lvl. 19 paladin heals and buffs.
lvl. 20 warlock attacks with minion and spells.
DRAW OUT THE MOB first using mana tap. don't draw him out because his fear spell will send you running too far away. kill the necromancers, then go in after him.

33.82 downstairs in the central building in deatholme.
Did this as a lvl 20 priest and lvl 21 aff lock, his 2 guards can be pulled out of the room, if there both casters with there skeletal minion, pull the one thats furthest away so you don't aggro him. fear was a problem but the void walker kept aggro at all times, use your orbs at about 50%, just kept shielding the vw and healing him while wanding and putting up sw:pain, neither of us had been for our lvl 20 training either.

Just wanted to say so you dont do the same misstake as I did.. :P

The sword using thing is a channeling spell.. I used the sword and then I backed up cause I wanted to get range as im a hunter.. and since I stepped back the channeling effect stopped. :D

Despite the quest saying you need a group of 5, he's can be soloed at lv 21 with a Hunter (and I would imagine a Warlock but I don't know about other classes).

First clear the area, which includes getting rid of his two body guards. Those two can be individually pulled. When the area is cleared, if you have a cat pet turn off Bite or Claw (I turned off Claw) because having both on eats up too much focus so that your pet can't use Growl. Then send your pet at him, while you stand back firing at him and curing your pet every so often.

When his attention turns to you, run around the corridors you just cleared like a scared little girl. You can outrun him (you don't need to use Aspect of the Cheetah, which is why I figure a Warlock could also use this method) and his attention will turn once again back to your pet. Use this opportunity to start attacking him again. Repeat how many times necessary.

Took me two tries (the first time my pet couldn't hold aggro because he still had Claw on, which is why I say turn it off for this battle) but he was fairly easy with this strategy. I didn't have to cure myself but I did have to restore my mana during the battle and cure my pet. I didn't even have to use the sword I got to use on him since it was still on cool down from my first try.

I did try this at lv 20 without success so I don't recommend trying until lv 21.

Cleaned the whole place except the boss (yes, the two "guards" can be pulled individually), then killed the boss.

Did at level 19 Solo on blood elf hunter. Alls I did was cleared the halls of the temp on the middle level. Then went to the top of the stairs leading to Dar'Khan Drathir. Shot him with an arcane shot and ran down the hall that I just cleared. He came up with out pulling anything else. From there I just kept my pets growl off and kept him slowed chasing me in the halls. Took about 2 mins for the battle and 5 mins to clear the temple. Hope it helps.

Dar'khan is downstairs in the central temple. down there he has two lvl 19 bodyguards. We pulled him out and they didn't follow. He uses fear spell quite a bit. Took him with 22 hunter and 22 rogue, but it was work. Did twice because the first time he really got pi##$ed at the hunter and his pet wouldnt pull the aggro off him. My Rogue had better armor and I put him down. Second time I let my Rogue take the aggro, No problem.

Anyone trying this on Classic TBC servers, it's basically impossible as anything at level with the quest that doesn't have an immunity or a pet. Warlocks and Hunters can do it easily and Paladins can struggle through it, but even with the items from the previous quest (the increased damage to undead, the sword with the on-use, and the hp flask) it's impossible to solo as a Mage, Rogue, or Priest etc. I attempted it at level 21 on a Mage and didn't even come close. I eventually grouped up with two Rogues and a Priest, who all also tried soloing it and said they didn't even come close. So if you're one of the other three classes Belfs can be, group up!
