This is currently bugged for me. I used the book, Medivh and the dragon spawned, then nothing happens.

Ok, finally got it working. It bugs out when multiple people use the book at the same time. If you are there with a group, decide who is using the book and no one else touch it. If you are there alone, don't click it twice.

Where exactly is the terrace? Anyone have a screenshot?

The above comment is correct.

1) Go in the side entrance.
2) Open the door directly in front of you and go through it.
3) Turn left and follow the passage, but don't go up any stairs.
4) When you see the staircase, go through the opening to the right of the stairs.
5) There are two paths. One path leads into the ballroom, but there's a door immediately inside that passageway, to the left, that leads outside. Go outside.
6) Read the book.
7) Wait for the event to conclude.

Be sure that after you use the book, you stay there and witness Medivh's interaction with the dragon. The quest completes at the end of the "event," not right when you use the book.

When you go to the Master's Terrace read the book in the center of the half circle so that there is equal distance between both entrances to the terrace.

hello all,
yes this quest is confirmed by a GM to bug sometime.
it bugged for me the first time.
i dont have any idea about multiple ppl doing the quest at the same time. however, i was the only one on the quest.
Main important thing is to click once and ONLY once the book.
u have to wait bout 30sec after mediv and the dragon appear. then mediv will start talking to the dragon. wait a bit longer and it should work.
if it bugs, wait couple of hours then come back and try again.

This is still bugged as of the 2.1 patch.

Follow the other comments' recommendations if you find yourself unable to complete the quest.

I had the same problem. First I tried soft resetting (leaving the instance for 30 minutes). That didn't work, so I contacted a GM who told me he couldn't do much but I could allways try to dump the quest & retake it. I did that plus another soft reset, then it worked.

It was bugged for me today, too. I clicked the Book a couple of times when I weren't in the right place. When I didn't get any more errors and the Book was on CD nothing happened. Soft-Reset worked for me though. I waited outside for 30 minutes and then went straight to where I new it would work. This time the event started.

Its so easy quest, just go to the place where you summon Nightbane and read the book then wait.

Yeah I cannot seem to get this to work. Is there a bug? I am at the Master's Terrace at the southern end (actually its right in the middle). Lets me use Journal but doesn't do anything. I do not see event or get a complete quest

guess this must be the scrub post. Here's a thought; clear kara up to at least shade before you try this. THEN; when you guys are done for the night; you can get your lazy selves back to kara and go around completing all the quests. It's seriously not that hard. Oh wahhh; i have to go back and can't do it right away.

I couldn't find anything that said what happened when you read the journal, so I was a bit hesitant. I read it towards the middle, and didn't see anything happen, so I started moving to another spot, and saw "Image of Medivh". I walked up to him and click the book again. He starts yelling at a dragon, "Image of Arcanagos".

He walks off, and the quest is completed. Doesn't take much more than bout 2 minutes. Hope this helps.

I had this bug on me and left the instance for a couple of hours. I figured out by talking to others on the server that once you are in the right area where you can read Medivh's Journal, you cannot click the journal more than once. If you do then there is a high probability that it will bug.

Basically, once you've clicked the journal there is a presentation/animation that occurs before the fight happens and if you click the journal a second time thinking nothing is happening then it will bug.

Just click once and wait/watch to see if the dragon comes and the two npc's fight. The humanoid will say several sentences before the fight happens.

For those like me who are directionally challenged, go in the back door, turn left and go until you reach an outside part. Use the book there. Might need to move around a bit til you find the right spot.

it seems the quest was faithfully restored as well in tbc classic ... it includes the bug.

quest bugged for me. reading here i realize multiple clicks may bug the quest. I used multiple clicks as there are multiple magister's terraces and ended up with all the wrong ones first. so did the same at the right location ... and bugged it. i added some information in this post that was spread around and added one specific part i couldn't find easily.

but i also wondered should nightbane be alive for this quest ?
answer: no, nightbane can be killed already before you do this quest. I went into a fully cleared kara came back later and finished it in one attempt.

what solved for me the bug ?
1 i went out of karazhan. waited 33 minutes for that soft reset (a few extra minutes over 30 couldn't hurt).
2 i went through the back door (which door front or back doesn't matter, but prevents me from loosing where i am)
3 stood on the spot with the broken casket. it does not have to be exact i think but a nice marked spot
4 pressed the mediv's book ONE TIME on the right location
5 clicking the book is not enough to complete the quest, you must wait for the scenery to finish
6 waited patiently, mediv came fast, the rest takes a bit of time, just wait until it specifically says
book read (or something similar). you can check your quest log. the quest should be completed before you leave.
7 turned it in
(and now i cant loot the bone lol, checking wow head for the quest details for that one, i did change raid to party but didn't help)

Try it. Go to the Master's Terrace and read the page; you'll see just what I mean. Might as well report to Alturus while you're at it. I'm afraid I'll be here for a while.
