After several hours of trying to get a 2nd seal in order to complete the quest (as it was broken in 2.0).. I never had one drop.

It looks like if you complete https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=4742 you will not be able to loot the Unadorned Seal again. I logged on another character who had not yet completed that quest and got it on my 13th kill.

Lesson: Get 2 before you turn it in

I also didnt find a seal in the same situation after 40 kills........ may be bugged

You need to collect 3 gems from the three bosses in LBRS. The gems are now 100% drop rate.

Multiple seals WILL drop for the same character, there is no need to use alts or the AH.

After forging the seal and returning to Blackrock Spire to turn the quest in I had a second seal drop for me on my third kill, either I had very good luck or the other posters had very bad luck.

Just to confirm, it will still drop after you complete the quest for the gems, I had to kill like 9 packs of orcs to get one.

Drops from the non-elites outside the instance if you just need a second one so you can turn in the quest to Vaelan. Bloody pain in the bug, this arse.

Got it on my 6th kill from mobs inside the instance. I could not hand in the UBRS key-quest without it.

Was not hard with my 66 level warrior.

Will this only drop for single groups, or can you get it as part of a raid force?

it drops a lot, but as a poster above said, people just pick em up so the chance of you getting one depends on how many people in your group already have it, if it's your time to loot or maybe you're doing the instance with people who look out for that kind of thing... good luck with it, i promiss you it drops more than once per run, check the chat/combat logs and you'll notice :)

I was in a group with a friend when he turned in this to the Questgiver. If you are in a 5 man group with the person turning in the Seal of Ascension to Vaelan, you can get the quest for the gems as well. My rogue got the quest this way.

Man this thing doesn't seem to drop as much as it used to. I've been on 6 LBRS raids in the past week and only saw this drop for someone in party once. A few months ago I was in a raid group with my hunter where it actually dropped 9 (yes, NINE) times in one run. I think the extras just went on AH or were vendored. I shoulda saved one, now I cant seem to get one at all for my druid.

We went yesterday and we dropped 4 of these but it was a very good drop raid lots of blue and my new epic ring :)

but sharing it is pointless. You need the 3 gems, and the seal before you can even turn in the quest, and as soon as you obtain the seal, you can always get the quest. So gather the gems and the seal, and then go get the quest, and immediatly turn it in.

I just got this one from LBRS raid today (we were actually going for the key but no one knew how to get it lol) and we cleaned it for full but I never knew I could turn this in for the UBRS key. I think we killed the dude, but it only works in a 5 man party? And how do you get the gems?
There was also a drop of something similar to this, called Undead instead of Acension I think, it's also needed? I could only loot one, no more.

I was in a 5 man and I got 1 right away and then saw many many more drop on corpse's i was looting (unique only 1 allowed), at least 4... Blizz may have changed the drop rate cuz i cant imagine doing multiple runs and nvr getting one.

I was going into Lower blackrock spire and I killed the two first elites. the first one droped this and I have no Idea what its for. I was solo, btw. lvl 57 hunter

i did LBRS at level 52 with a raid group of 8, this item dropped i think about 7 times, off of random enemies

I was in a group of 4 when I got this items so the 5 thing is not a real thing guys!
Still don't know what to do with it , but human curiosity killed the cat b4 so what do I got to lose than precious time of my TIME....

some random girl gave it to me 4 standing around 4 like 30 mins dancing :) never knew what it did and i got it at level 30 and now im 67 so what do i do with it?

This just dropped of of one of the Orc Sentries outside of BRS... I was all by myself just killing them for fun. I don't even have this quest yet.

I got mine today in Blackrock Mountain off of the Scarshield Quartermaster. He's a 55 Rare, solod him with my 54 Warlock, just like ant other 55 mob. I was alone. no grp or raid grp. he spawnes in the corradores where all the other 54, 55 orcs are.

To get the quest to make the UBRS-key you have to have the Unadorned Seal of Ascension in your inventory when you talk to Vaelan. The quest can be shared once you have it.

Second time I was in LBRS, got my last gem on the same run. It just dropped all of a sudden. I looted and made lots of "Woohoo"'ing and /cheer'ing, but the other guys just asked what it was for, and I said it was a quest item. Ok, they said, and we went on as if nothing had happened. Even the guy who had claimed to be collecting gemstones ^^

It annoyingly still drops even after you've completed the quests, and even if you have Seal of Ascension on you.

If you plan on farming LBRS after you've gotten your UBRS key, you can bank this item to stop seeing them drop.
