To any Druids wondering, it's not much use for bear/moonkin form because the 300 armor does not multiply.

Anyone looking for this item should just run Mara and hope it comes off a scion. I know the drops tab lists it as being a potential drop from a highborne in Azshara and the sandfury witchdoctors in ZF -- but the best place to get this is in Mara.

The other alternative is to farm something ELSE for cash and then purchase the item on AH. If you keep an eye on the AH you can get a decent deal for this (meaning under 100g).

Warriors and Paladins would definitely benefit from the Stamina bonus and 300 armor, but I don't think it is worth the 10 seconds. Also spirit does nothing for them. People are better off selling this in AH to others who just want an epic.

This ring sucks, if you find it, sell it on the AH for cash.

The "use" ability for +300 armour has a cooldown of 30 minutes, so it is basically useless. You can find better rings with more stable stats (Blackstone Ring for example from Princess in Maraudon *i know, low drop rate).

Bottom line is, sell this thing on AH, if you're going to use it, you're losing out on a lot of cash.

Note: Unique.. I cried when a second one of these dropped for me in the searing gorge. The first one off a dark iron taskmaster, the second off a lava spider. Because I was solo'ing, I couldn't even give the damn thing to anyone as I had one equipped. I also question the suggested drop rate of this thing because according to wowhead, the odds of finding one are super rare.. finding TWO.. inconceivable.

Used this ring from lvl 41 all the wayt to 63 as a fury dps warrior, when i got a better one from a quest. Definetly a valuable item to have.

This ring is terrible imo.

10 seconds is way to short a duration
300 armor is not nearly enough to make any significant difference
30 minute cooldown is a joke, maybe 3 or 5 minutes would be more fitting
A tank has no need for Spirit

I would use Deadman's Hand, a 29 epic ring, (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=34227) over this any day.

This ring is deservingly an epic ring when used in the right manner. I personally see it as an invaluable caster solo'ing ring. Armor, is not linear--x amount of armor will not always give y amount of damage reduction. In actuality, it scales meaning as you want to increase your damage reduction, you require more and more armor.

Thus, the classes with the least amount of armor (casters wearing cloth), the +300 armor will help the most. I have used one on my mage, and I will say, that I can count the number of times that I have either pulled aggro on unwanted mobs, popped the ring to give me that extra bit of toughness I need to survive long enough to escape. The 30 minute cool down is actually quite reasonable; I don't think the ring was meant to give you a constant +300 armor, as that would make this ring on a caster quite overpowered. Instead, it is suppose to be used occassionally when in need. The 30 minute cool down, is much shorter than I'll ever need when solo'ing smart. Not to mention the +140HP bonus from the ring is one of the highest available on a ring at the level you can wear it, allowing you to either stack Stamina, or allowing you to have your other pieces of gear veered towards solid DPS.

As a tanking ring, I suggest that it only be used by paladins or druids. The 300 armor DOES NOT stack for druids in bear form, but I have noticed that there is an animation when I proc it. I believe this is a taunt and helps tanks maintain aggro while slightly increasing their armor. For a warrior tank, the taunt, and stamina are pretty ridiculous for a ring at this level but I believe there are better over all rings as the Spirit is pretty much worthless to them.

I just thought I'd defend this ring a little, I think its really a "love it or hate it" type of deal, and I am definitely the former.

Really nice on a Warlock, due to the big Stamina-Boost ... a warlock solo'ing wearing this Ring from lvl41 till maybe lvl55 ...

Lol, found it in Blasted Lands (Dreanor server) one morning for a week ago - my first ever epic :)

Put it on AH for bid 175g and buyout 250g. No bids, but someone pressed buyout, when there was less than 2 hours left! :) Love finding that kind of things in mail!

Dropped in Feralas from those winged things (I really can't remember the name right now) near the Ogres.

I was in a group and the other guy passed on it.
Sold it in Org for 150g (Llane)

I was a 40ish shammy at the time and the money was alot more useful to me than the ring.

Dropped in ZF somewhere off bug or mob... not really sure. We all needed since it was world drop. Sold in 5 minutes for 125g. I am pissed off cuz i proly could have gotten 200g. Oh well. Some lucky warrior has it now.

At first glance people dont seem to think much of this epic ring, but trust me, when you use it, it's a ring you'll keep through end game.

My first one dropped in Feralas off the Hippos. Slammed it on my hand right then.

300 armor on demand? +14 stam? Give me a break- please find a better defensive ring at this level that also actually acts as a trinket. It's a hybrid!

Works great as PvP in BG and as a PvE ring in case you pull that unwanted aggro.

I love it. Ive bought 2 others off AH for my warlock and rogue and consider it a straight steal at 120g.

This is only an opinion..
Yea..The 30 minute cooldown Sucks..No Doubt.
But, I don't think it was intended as a PvP Item or to provide you +300 Armor all the time.
(Thats like 2-3 extra pieces of leather gear for Us leatherwearers)!
In PvP other than the 14 Stam it would be crap.
However, For the Purpose of a tank in instances for the bosses...I definetly think it has Value.
Particularly if you are short a Warrior and are a Feral Druid tanking in BearForm.
Some instances I have been to, It will take you close to that to get to the next Boss.
Mind you...I am only level 53 and the highest instance I have done is DM East and that's pretty fast(between bosses)so you could not use it for every Boss.
So 30 minutes there would be too long if you are counting on that extra +300.
Your cooldown would be okay in somewhere like Mara if you are doing it at the low level limit in a party, and not Stealth-Running for gear. (because you can be from entrance to Razorlash and back in under 10 minutes with a good 2 man)
I don't think the item is worth 200g but, It is a good drop for the level required to use it.
And yes I have one...It dropped in ZF.

2 EPIC DROPS IN ONE RUN! This ring and Nightblade (40 something dps epic 2h sword) both dropped in one Zul Farrak run. This ring was very early and nightblade was near the end but when nightblade dropped i nearly crapped my pants. We all rolled need on both. Ring went to a rogue who equipped it (moron) and the Nightblade went to a warrior.

im a 43 Palidan(ret spec) and i just got it for 62G on stormscale it will serve as my devotion aura so i can use my retribution aura in replace of itXP itll work well when i have those annoying enemies that link like crazy and end up BARELY killing me lol..plus 14 stamina how can you not go wrong w/that? someone in my guild is a high JC and my next upgrade for a ring wasnt until 55-60 so this ring will serve me 10 lvls then ill d/e it when i get my new stuff lol and make some profit backXP

i got this ring on a drop in sunken temple, i was just walking around hap hazzardly, just to see what was in there, i'm not much of an instance player, my hunter was level 63 at the time, so i had no use for it. my first epic drop ever. i seen one an ah for 150 gold, so i listed mine for 125. i hope it seels, we play on wisperwind...

IMO, this ring is barely worth its stats, the use is only 300 armor and for a whole 10 seconds! =P

and it has a 30 minutes cooldown. one of the "Its only purple items in the game"

Went to Gadz with my 70 hunter to learn cooking 300 ( I slacked lol)

Killed a Roc for a the giant egg collection this dropped instead..

Side note took my 6 kills to get a giant egg damn...

Stats don't justify paying more than 10g for this.

300 armor for 10 seconds is enough to help you avoid maybe a swing or two in the time it's active. Cooldown of 30 minutes really hinders usefullness.

Would rather have a Selenium loop of the Eagle (9int/9sta) which sells for a much more modest 5g.

My character has always been unlucky - no epic, no blue drops - unlike my alt, who gets least green once per session, blues often. So - me goes grind a bit, then before ending session kill 3 ghosts (Highborne Lichling) at Azshara : 2 green drops, 1 health potion and this ring.

This ring is no use for me, but hoping to sell this with 150g, as my realm Earthen Ring is by rumours most expencive european realm. :)

My first ever epic drop in playing since Feb 05 when WOW came out in UK!

Dropped off a Level 46 Dunemaul Enforcer in Tanaris for me as I was grinding them to get to Level 48.

Sold a few days later for 150g on Steamwheadle Cartel. It's going to go toward my epic mount fund.

Its ok, im just wearing it cause its epic lol. The cooldown is horrible on the items but its ok some times. I wear that trinket that when procs adds 350 amour for 15 seconds, so each time the trinket procs I uses this ring aswell bonus 650 amour, only for 10 seconds but its saved my life a few times.

do not buy the ring of saviors for more than the cost of it's disenchant components. 30 min cooldown, meaningless 10 sec duration, and the need to activate in a crisis, makes it almost useless...

Guardian Talisman is better.. reward for very easy quest in ST ... did when i was 49. don't even have to kill anything ;)

talisman gives 350 armor for 15 sec, at 2% chance in combat (passive which is good... and this happens frequently if you solo challenging mobs). goes well with Mark of the Chosen.
