Yes, the drop rate must be far lower. I've been racing through
Marudon (when I'm bored) and in 7 or 8 tries she has dropped everything but the bloody ring.

Yes, the drop-rate is rather low, but the ring is worth it.

Princess runs are much faster than the end-game five-mans, making this a lot easier to get.

Still have it equipped on my 62 warrior. The hit is absolutely priceless in Outland.

Just dropped for me after my 4th Princess kill and it is amazing. I'm currently a lv 49 arms spec warrior and using this ring, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=13018, and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=19120 ive got a +3.8% chance to hit. At lv 49 10 hit rating goes a long way, i highly recommend farming for this ring for any dps class.

Had a level 70 friend of mine boost me through Maraudon on my (then) level 45 Hunter.

This ring is a very nice upgrade. Previously i was using Mark of Kern and Aquamarine Signet of the Monkey, which is a very nice combination. This ring will replace the Mark of Kern.

+10 hit rating is very valuable, and coupled with the trinket Horde can aquire from an elite quest in the Hinterlands (Rune of the Guard Captain) that's an easily attainable +20 hit rating and +40 attack power from 2 items. Very nice.

These items will last you until Outlands, probably to about 62-63, then they will probably be replaced. The drop rate on the ring from Princess is very varied, i just got lucky and found it first try. On previous outings there on my warrior and rogue, i never saw it drop. Don't give up hope though! It has to drop sooner or later.

It's a nice ring but I prefer Truesilver Commander's Ring (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29158) with Masons Fraternity Ring (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9533).

I miss 6 atk power and 10 hit rating in comparison with the Truesilver Commander's Ring but gain 7 agility and 7 strength. And since agility increases critical hits I prefer Truesilver Commander's Ring.

This thing dropped for me first try, so I guess I was kind of lucky there.
I do have a question though. I currently have https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=20964 (of the monkey), paired with https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9533. Currently much enjoying the high agility and stamina. I do have the horde trinket from the hinterlands, so basically what I'm wondering is the extra 10 hit rating really worth it?
Should I sacrifice the dodge/crit that 13 agility gives me, for 20 AP and 10 hit rating?

In higher instances, chance to hit is a factor. You are aiming for enemies that have high defense skills (increases miss rate), dodge and parry bonuses (increases miss rate), and are higher level than any toon can become (increases miss rate). Hitting more often is a factor and should not be downplayed when the hunter is a source of DPS, assuming the hunter hits often.

BTW, this does not apply for most of our special shots, those are usually treated like spell effects and hit unless parried, dodged, or deflected (aka not enough attack power to pierce armor). If the shot says arcane, nature, fire, or anything-other-than-weapon damage, hit percentage is not usually a factor.

But for sake of argument, as why Hunters always call dibs on Crit items (obviously a Rogue who whined about it, because Rogues claim the exact same thing), the reason is pretty F*ing simple if you look at the math, jackass. It takes Hunters 53(!) Agility to get 1% chance to crit. It takes Rogues only 26 Agility. Therefore 1% has a higher Agility ratio value to Hunters. I'm not saying Hunters should get priority over Rogues (or vice versa), I'm just saying Rogues who don't understand why Hunters drool over crit stuff are ignorant.

I am a druid, btw.
Just stay out of range with the AoE, then when she fears go bearform and tank til the tank gets back. That is if the tank didn't resist the fear in the first place.

Looking at some of these just makes my poor head hurt. "OMG! ITS A ROGUE RING!" "NO PALLY!""NO HUNTER!" ..sad. Look at the thing. its good for all 3 classes. even for druid who shifts. As for this whole thing i keep seeing "WTF would a hunter roll on this? if they roll on this ill ban em from my group or make fun of thier mom!' or somthing just as stupid. I guess they should go into instances without anything on? yes? no? its great to be at the bottom of everyones list of eq. ""Hunter isnt melee so, no weapons for you..unless it truly sucks then you might get a chance to roll on it if the mage dosent want it for disenchanting" Yeah, we melee, ever done pvp? ever see somone charge a hunter? "Your pet will protect you" who pays attention to the pet in pvp? the mage might notice it after he snares it the procedes to fireball your ass..or sheeps the pet.. "You have traps!" hey great! love traps! too bad you can SET one while you getting attacked and now with the new patch blizzard did they can now be seen. Oh and yeah, we DO like things that add to hit/crit and +ap power. (and yes, for the last time, attack power affects ranged attacks too, if you dont belive me get a + attack power item and put it on while wearing a ranged item. it clearly goes up. now if it said Melee power and a hunter rolled for it I could understand)

As a level 52 hunter I ran Mara for the first time and this dropped. Everyone even the casters rolled. Luckily I got it.

Can be used for many classes but obviously is better for some. But often in random parties it isnt about who needs it the most, its who needs it and wins the roll.

This and don julios are looking nice :)

oh jeah and next time i roll for intelligence rings.. and cloth armor, cause they are good for rp or dinner .. omg

think about what this ring means for melee classes and what benefits you as a caster have.. 6 stamina, if you want stamina you can buy a stamina ring but dont roll on it if warri/rogue need this... -.-

every mage/priest/warlock roll at this ring is imo unable to play in team and respect the need of the other classes, think about how you feel if some ass roll something he really don�t needs

(yes a warlock rolled on this, too bad that you cant attack own side ...)

I solod her with my 60 fire mage. Frost mages might have an easier time with iceblock/ice barrier/cs/ice barrier dunno. But its definately possible.

i know how u feel, but about the sword in ZF he was right, warriors/paladins DO NEED it more than rogues or hunters, individually those swords suck, just look, and they wont do any good for a rogue, but combined makes 1 hell of a weapon for lvl 50, trust me im using it right now, for hunters its not good u shouldnt even melee! so stay the &*!@ away from these swords. no offence of anythin.

but yeah class proirity 1st, but for items like this ringt ANYONE who can use should roll no matter what everypne in group says, they dont like it? @#$% them than, just leave the group and join another big deal

It's got stats that a hunter, rogue and a warrior could all use, simple %^&*ing as... Just depends who needs it in your group or w/e to decide who gets it...

Ok, so this ring is good for dps classes in general. With patch 2.0 however, hunters should look abit more fondly on it. I got a 60 hunter main and am considering running Maraudon again as the AP on this ring beats the Mason's Fratertinity one I've had since my first ever ZF run. I could also use some +hit shizzle as well.

I agree that it is great for a hunter as well, but the dual wield penalty being what it is and that burdening rogues and fury warriors makes them best suited for this.

it isnt a bad ring, quite decent actually. Probably the reason why the shammy wanted the ring was because he was an enhancement shammy, meaning that they are based on melee attacks. any class that melees should be entitled to roll on this ring. and hunters as well.

ie Warriors, Paladins, Druids, Shamans, Hunters, Rogues

Feral dps druid = rogue. This is nowhere near a rogue-only ring, it's great for any melee class, hybrids and hunters. Anyone except clothies should be able to roll need on this.

This is a nice ring to have. The hit rating is useful for any melee class at that level range.

I've seen this ring drop 4 times from princess, 2 times it went to a pally and the other 2 went to hunters, but me, fury warrior, gets nothing :(

Next time its going to be rogues who win...not me again...

So, did a guild run through here today. 2 mages, a shadow priest, and a warrior. The shadow priest is level 60, I'm level 61, the other mage is 47, warrior dinged 36 while in here. He greeded the ring. He could've totally used it. First time I ever saw it drop too.

This definitly compliments a rogue best, warriors are better off getting something else becuase 20 attack power is only 10str to them and it is 20str for rogues.

6 stam is nice
stacked with thet trinket from the horde quest in the hintelrands which gives either 20 or 30 attack power, it can give u a nice boost

Last night, I did princess run for the first time. My group was awesome and I was the only rogue in the party( I am lvl 52).
We run it in 45 min including killing rotgrip and the goblin. But the coolest was that this ring dropped AND the crocscale boot, needless to say I got the 2 items, in my FIRST RUN! =D

this ring dropped my first princess run, but i didn't roll on it at the time because i was only 46.

the forth time i downed the princess, the ring drops a second time, and i was the only one who needed, so i got it.

now i just need the shoulders from razorlash.

got this one with 97 roll i think. Second time i did princess it dropped again, me and a hunter rolled and i won again. But i cant have another one so i told him to have it. It was kinda funny

The best ring for melee classes, tanks and hunters as pre raid.

As a fury warrior, this is extremely important because they don't have any +hit from talents. Needless to say, other classess will absolutely go for it because it's bis for them aswell.
As a hunter, it's very important, but let's face it, the added 1% hit on them is not as important as it is for fury warriors. I would hate to lose the ring to a hunter if I was a melee class.

As a tank, the ring is very important too. You never want to tank with no extra hit, because your threat will be super bad.

If you can get this while leveling, it will make your life so much easier.

This is no longer the pre-raid best-in-slot ring for Hunters now Dire Maul is available as it has 10 ranged attack power and ~0.28% crit chance (and ~0.58% dodge if you care) less than Tarnished Elven Ring, while it's only gain is the +6 stamina and +5 melee attack power (for Hunters). However the Blackstone Ring is still a valuable stepping-stone ring for Hunters (particularly because they can solo Princess at any gear level) until they can solo tribute runs which, for most players, will require a degree of gear.

This ring is still pre-raid best-in-slot for Fury Warrior and Enhancement Shaman, and offensively for Bears and Prot Warrior.
